Hotel Sonne

Had a wonderful experience all round. Stayed in standard room with balcony and view towards Kitzbuhel. Room was of good standard, very clean, comfortable bed, bathroom with shower over bath rather than separate shower, small kitchen type table with chairs, sofa and flat screen TV. Fridge also included. Breakfast was extensive and evening meals were all beautiful presented and tasted really good. Reception and restaurant staff were friendly, courteous and helpful at all times. Spa area was extensive with long open hours. Plenty of towels and spotless. I used swimming pool and fitness rooms each morning and again were all top quality. The situation is beautiful with many nice walks in close proximity and a small peaceful town . Would highly recommend and could find very view faults.

On arrival we found out our room booking had been messed up as room offered with a balcony was actually a “fire escape “ for the balcony above the kitchen! The receptionist apologised for the confusion caused by the now departed member of staff - sacked my guess! Other rooms offered at front of hotel but with a bath when my wife required a shower. A junior suite found but next to the first room with a balcony again over the kitchen extension with a 1.5 x 2 metre size not used in our stay. Quality furnishings throughout and an excellent pool area. Main meal good but buffet salad not up to other 4 star tyrolean hotels! Drinks - especially wines over priced by about €10 a bottle - hotel charging Kitzbuhel prices but not Kitzbuhel! Young waiters very attentive more mature local staff not so! After dinner no atmosphere in the hotel. Will not be returning!

We first stayed in the Sonne over 10 years ago. Much has improved, most notably the food and the sauna area. We stayed for a week, essentially full board in a junior suite with ski passes, all in for about euro 2500. The food was excellent, dinner every night was superb, including Guinea fowl, Duck & traditional Austrian courses. Pud every nigh was well presented and delicious. The wine was pricey, as you might expect. The service from hosts Mark & Henne was friendly, polite, efficient and really added to the relaxing experience. A hotel ski shuttle runs each morning and afternoon from 15.15 - 16.00, it would help if it continued to 16.30 as it is only right to visit a mountain bar or two on the last run!. The snow this year was really poor, but we can't hold the hotel responsible for that! The sauna was well designed and had everything you would hope for, but please enforce the 'no mobile phones' even in the chill out areas, I saw a woman filming here and this is unacceptable in a sauna area and the ban should be enforced.

Just relaxing here in the beautiful new spa in the Hotel Sonne looking out at the snow covered mountains . We are coming to the end of a wonderful week in Kirchberg which saw plenty snow, the company of friends and family 16 of us to be exact! We have had a great experience in the Hotel Sonne which is in a beautiful setting not far from the village, slopes etc . The staff are all so friendly and accommodating always a friendly smile . Food in the Restaurant was fantastic and the waiting staff were very patient with our large and lively group! Looking forward to returning again next winter , Highly Recommend

We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights.. only 2 of those nights we run a little bit late for the dinner. We weren’t welcome, some of the guests were afraid of the staff… dinner wasn’t possible even when another room just received the main course.. I’m quite disappointed, if you pay this amount of money you expect a good quality service
