Room: Lovely balcony. No control over heating and felt somewhat cold one evening. Bed was reasonable. No fridge or minibar (Had to keep my medication outside on the balcony). No kettle or tea/coffee making facilities. One carafe of tap water provided but not replenished or glasses cleaned. Bathroom: No bathtub, just a shower. Plenty of hot water and didn't have to run the tap for long. Only 1 shower cap and hygiene pack - not replenished during our stay. Restaurant: The food was lovely and quite sufficient for 2 not-so-active middle-aged people who were just looking to ski gently for a few days and to chill & relax. When we were 10 years younger and more active, we would have been left hungry. The biggest downside for us was having to select our evening meal choices at breakfast, as we don't know at 8am what we'll want to eat at 7pm. Staff: Generally excellent and very helpful. Good standard of English. Big shout out to Patricia, our waitress, who we miss very much! Spa: Quite new and definitely worth 4 stars at the beginning of the week; however, by halfway through the week the fruit basket and tea / hot water had both stopped being replenished in the relaxation area. Note to other Brits - the spa area is a naked area (hence no U-16s) and you will receive strange looks from others if you wear swimwear! Towels are expected to be sat on in the saunas and you can fold or wrap them around you if feeling self-conscious, but you will have to go fully naked in the shower! After the first time, it all feels quite normal. Entertainment: We arrived at the end of peak season, so not much to do in the resort apart from skiing. Had an accordionist entertain us one evening in the restaurant. Innsbruck is very close and the old town is worth a visit. There is also a Swarovski factory/museum which we understand is well worth visiting but it does need a little planning, especially if you don't have a car. Other guests: Not Club 18-30! Mostly middle-aged couples and families with older (adult) children, on skiing trips like us. Mostly Germans / German-speakers, very friendly, we had a great laugh with the German couple next to us in the restaurant ... although, as with any holiday, no guarantees. Would we return? Probably, yes as a couple, as we liked the local resort (Schlick 2000) and the option to ski the glacier (45 minutes bus ride up the valley). We usually ski in a group, with family and friends, and I'm not sure the younger generation would be altogether interested as the apres was pretty non-existent. Plus they prefer ski-in/ski-out access, or maybe a short walk, and don't do ski buses. Although, once you've worked it out, the ski buses go every half an hour from a stop less than 100m from the hotel door, or more frequently at peak times, and only take 5 minutes.
Mohu to doporučit, pokud chcete zůstat v krásném prostředí a mít čistý, dobrý pokoj a jídlo po dni v stubai tal.
Velmi přátelský a profesionální personál. Velmi čisté pokoje. Postele Fantastics. Wellness je čistý a velmi dobrý. Perfektní po lyžování. Skvělá restaurace! 2 minuty chůze od autobusového nádraží Schlick 2000. 5 minut chůze pro busstop gletsjer.
We booked via Sunweb for ATOL protection, and apart from the usual 'white knuckle ride' with Four Seasons from Innsbruck, we had a great week. Rooms very spacious, and food was excellent. Nice big spa area, containing two saunas and a steam room. Access to the garden outside to cool down. Convenient ski and boot room in basement. Lifts to Schlick 2000 (local ski area) just 1 minute walk. Bus stop to impressive Stubai Glacier 2 mins, with good value ski hire shop close by. The hotel didn't need to provide any enterntainment; it was inadvertently provided by some other guests. One chap spent 5 minutes meticulously soaping himself down in the shower, only to go straight back into the sauna! A group of lads were seen smuggling a large hamper of booze into the spa, and then took their booty outside into the garden to consume it all, wearing their bathrobes in full view of other guests (see photo). You couldn't make it up. Hotel staff; (Yana, Patricia especially) were very friendly and efficient. Delicious cakes and pastries provided for hungry skiers late afternoon. My only constructive feedback for hotel management to consider is the price point/quality of the house wine ('Offene Weine'). Disappointingly, this was priced the same per unit of volume as some of the exclusive bottled wine. In all other hotels, it is at least 30% cheaper. Whilst it was of excellent quality, it was probably too good, and I'd urge the hotel to source cheaper wine in order to sell it at a lower price. That way, we would be tempted to come again, as our bar bill was almost £300.
