We stayed at this hotel around end of April / beginning of May. Location was lovely if you like a balance between a busy and quiet holiday this is a perfect destination. Amenities were adequate but I would not say it is a 5 star hotel at all. There was always spaces around the pool and plenty of loungers however the thing that let the hotel down the most was the service. Before me and my partner stay anywhere we do our research into where can accommodate celiac as my partner unfortunately has had that auto immune disease for the past 16 years. I done research on this hotel and had found online and was assured by front house that they could accommodate, but it couldn’t have be further from the truth. Dinner in the evenings are buffet style, €35 euros for a plate and all of the food listed were with limited or no ingredients and sometimes in the wrong place. First night dining in we had asked a staff member for gluten free options and he had walked my partner to the buffet and pointed to what was there, all noticeably not gluten free. He ended up having a small plate of salad, potatoes and rice and we were still charged €35 which is deeply inadequate given we were charged €96 for 2 plates and 2 drinks, the same as most hotel guests that probably managed to have a full plate of all options, if not multiple servings. Second night, we were more prepared with what to expect so we had asked the kitchen to prepare something like a plain chicken breast with vegetables. First declined by a member of staff, we had asked another member who said it could be done, but it was very visible to see the ‘inconvenience’ we caused amongst members of staff who probably felt we were being difficult. Feeling like a nuisance, problematic and uncomfortable we made the decisions to not go back for food and stick to restaurants in the nearby town and the local corner shop. Breakfast was all inclusive, one morning there was beans, next morning it was pastries, hard boiled eggs etc. Asking to accommodate again, the chef had huffed and puffed when asked to get some gluten free bread, which we were given but was stale, hard and end of loaf. We didn’t do that again either. Some staff I could not fault though, a lady who worked in the restaurant behind the bar was always a friendly face, a young man who was on reception with many recommendations on what to do while we were on holiday and when we checked in the man who drove us on a buggy to our room who had a good sense of humour. For these reasons alone, we would not return again and would strongly advise anyone who suffers with an autoimmune disease to look elsewhere, especially if it’s severe.
I had an amazing stay here at Dolce, the staff was very friendly. Everyone was treated with kindness and respect. I would recommend the hotel for the food, beauty and hospitality.
Great location and views although remote. The complex has all the hardware you may desire. Tennis courts, jeu de boules, handball, fabulous huge swimming pool and lovely beach with grass lawn. Marnle halls are beautiful. some rooms have their own pool/jacuzzi. The staff is really friendly but not always professional. The rooms are fine but small and not regularly cleaned. So why is this not a five star hotel by far? Telephone in room could not be made to work. Sockets switch off when leaving room so you cannot charge equipment. No socket in bathroom for razor. Room service brings coffee in carton cups. Swimming pool restaurant serves food like in plastic with wooden fork amd knife. After meals no proper cleanup of tables. Food is of moderate quality.
We decided to stay here to be closer to the airport than staying downtown Athens. For what I paid for what night it was not worth it. Dinner options were minimal. We either had a choice of a buffet or highlighted items off a room service menu. Breakfast was €40 for buffet or nothing. Room 448 - ac did not work in bedroom. Tub had shower option but had to sit in shower to use. Do not recommend.
Not sure where to start. check-in was a mess. the atmosphere of this hotel is not 5 Star. Very outdated. Front desk team is absolutely clueless. They did not give me a straight answer for ANY of the questions I had throughout my stay. Waited three hours form my room AND during that time the WIFI was not working (should have been my first indication of what was to come). Got my room and yes nice, but 5 star nice? NO! Very Basic. Throughout my stay - the Wi-Fi was a joke, mostly had to use my phone hotspot, one of the days I had no hot water, (my colleague did not have Electricity the day he left) the hotel was VERY noisy. Kids, Families, Wedding parties till Midnight (and beyond). The restaurant was pretty terrible. I guess for most this is an all-inclusive, They have a huge buffet for those people and the restaurant feels like a chow hall.. big, great view, no-atmosphere.. the Al a Carte menus is highlighted on what they have and what they don’t have. and its on a "Room Service Menu".. it took forever to get food or service. the Food was MEH and the guy at the checkout kept asking me to pay with card and would say EVERY time that I could not charge to the room. Which every time I ended up charging it to the room. Not sure what the deal is with that.. laziness? DOES THIS SOUND LIKE A 5 START RESORT? Checking out I found room service charges, did not have rooms service. Ended up with three invoices/folios, they gave me a receipt for the taxes, and for the room charges, and I had to ask them several times for one with the actual room per night cost. Talked to the manager about all these things, and her only response was that they were having a bad week and that I should come back with my family to catch them at their best. I was here for business, near a conference, and what they were charging per night was silly for what it is. 400+ per night for a 2-star hotel. My needs are pretty basic. A decent room where I can re-charge and get some work done. On a positive note. the view and location is fabulous, it is a great place to walk in the AM. did a bout 5K down through the local village an along the cost. Really nice. Also, the AC worked fine.
