Astra Village

This is my 2nd trip to Astra Village this year. I was here with my partner in July and stayed last week with two of my sons. This hotel is just wonderful. We were Half Board. The food was fabulous and well replenished, a great variety and with some lovely Greek traditional dishes too. The staff in Reception and throughout the hotel are really lovely and friendly, always willing to go out if there way to help. The rooms are cleaned daily and during the week replenished fresh linens and towels. Our room was overlooking their beautiful gardens and the sea. Loved my morning coffee on our terrace. The location is perfect, transfer from the airport is only 10 mins! Ammes beaches are just a short walk away, where we got to see baby hatchlings (turtles) making their first journey to the sea! What a wonderful experience!!! Watching the sunset from the hotel is something you can really look forward to each night too. Astra Village has the best views!! The bus stop is 4 mins walk from the hotel, so you can visit Al Helis beach or the lovely Argastoli if you want to venture out. We also loved watching the friendly cats and kittens play, a part of Greek heritage and an integral part of daily life in Greece. We had the most amazing holiday, thank you all so much again. What a perfect place :-). We will be booking for 2027 very soon and look forward to seeing you all again. Xx

We recently stayed at Astra Village and had a mixed experience. While the hotel has its positives, there were a few significant issues with room maintenance and food safety that let it down for a 4-star property. The Room Issues: The design of the bathroom shower caused water to constantly overflow onto the floor, making it incredibly slippery and a safety hazard. Instead of fixing the issue, the housekeeping staff quite clearly aware of it as they combatted it by leaving 2 to 3 rolled-up bath mats every day to contain the water. Additionally, the shower door hinge screeched dramatically every time it was opened throughout our entire holiday, which was very frustrating. Poor Gluten-Free / Coeliac Provision: If you have Coeliac disease this hotel is difficult to navigate safely, even though we raised this when booking with our travel agent who put this on our booking comments so the Hotel was aware in advance. We chose the bed and breakfast option and for our entire 7 day stay the clearly marked gluten-free breakfast options were placed directly in and amongst the standard food, making cross-contamination almost certain. Furthermore, the pool menu explicitly asks guests to declare any food allergies. We did exactly this, stating we needed gluten-free food due to Coeliac disease, but we were told there were no options available for our son other than a basic salads. This is simply not acceptable for a 4-star hotel. With better attention to maintenance and proper allergen safety training, this could be a much better resort, but we left feeling let down and disappointed by these standards.

Yes I agree there are ants and more concerning feral cats allowed in dining area! One jumped on the partners dress last night and tore it. The staff were disappointingly unsympathetic!! We also asked to change rooms as very noisy AC in upstairs room….they’re not forthcoming!!😡

Struggling with the eating area as the floor is covered with ant nests...looked down last night and my feet were covered with ants. Horrible. Please can management arrange this area to be cleaned?

We stayed at Villa Juliet which is owned by the Astra Village hotel. The villa was absolutely amazing. Peaceful and super clean. Lovely big pool and comfortable beds and much needed air-conditioning! We had a great week. The staff at the hotel were really helpful and friendly.
