The Magnolia Resort

Lovely hotel adults only, quiet location staff fantastic. Pool lovely and clean never many guests in at the same time. Bar area nice with well stocked drinks happy hour every day for 2 hours. Breakfast good to start your day. Rooms nice and clean with air conditioning. Management absolutely fantastic had a couple of issues beyond there control but sorted straight away. Will definitely go back in the future. A 10 minute walk takes you to the tavernas most on the seafront delicious food. Magnolia does a lovely lunch menu which we tried very nice.

I read all the reviews before we went I cant totally agree with any of it , As someone that has visited Greece for 35 years I was quite disappointed this nice easy walk to the beach was one of the reasons I booked it's a long walk down a steep hill I could not do it with my mild disability we tried first night as that's where most of the restaurants are did not make it. The hotel looks good in pictures shame there don't show the unfinished roof on the top floor which is not a good look our room was on the ground floor but even with the ramps you have to walk up at least 5 to 8 steps once again a problem for people with mobility problems . The guest are mainly repeaters so I suppose they remember when it was built the good old days but sadly this place is showing it's age and the manager will not accept that there is any problem we had a leak from under the shower tray so had to throw towels on the floor she would not change them every day so you supposed to dry yourself with towels that have human waste on, The tour rep would do anything as she was told there was no problem. The curtain was hanging down in the room I was told you were over zealous opening curtain so you must done this, toilet seat stained and lose I refitted that. The staff are all very nice and work hard it is clean but the breakfast is poor cheap food badly cooked you can not get any food after 3 so you have go out. 100m to super market down a hill up a hill very poor unlit road nearest restaurant another 100m up or down hill this was a nightmare for me why people go back I don't know. when I spoke with the manager and told price I been ripped off for she put her hand up towards my face and said I don't care take it up with your tour company. This place should not have it's rating it's nowhere near the beach it's tired and had it's day major refurb needed.

Second stay and again really very nice. No complaints at all. Clean, friendly and quiet with an easy walk to the beach, restaurants and bars. Far enough away from the centre to be peaceful but close enough that even with my knee awaiting replacement I was able to access the village easily. Regrettably I have read several complaints again about the breakfast, not sure why management hasn’t responded as it was the same 2 years ago. Perfectly adequate but with a few tweaks could be so much better. Fresh fruit would be nicer than the tinned. And maybe ditch the cost of the English and just provide a good continental? I don’t really eat breakfast so no complaints from me but I could see a bigger selection of pastries would be popular. The orange juice however was really good! Every evening we wandered out for dinner and enjoyed amazing food. We enjoyed many lunches at the pool and the bakery up the road also provided filled rolls as an alternative to eat on the balcony. There is also a supermarket just steps away which is useful. The pool has a large sunbathing area with lots of beds. You never feel crammed in. There’s plenty of shade as you can move the beds around under the large umbrellas and have drinks bought from the bar brought to you. I’m hope we will return very soon. This small hotel provides everything required for a great relaxing holiday or as a base to see the island. The village is small and peaceful but has enough bars and restaurants to offer a great evening after a day of hiking, site seeing or just relaxing on the beach or at the pool. Apart from tweaking the breakfast it really is pretty perfect!

Ok it’s a bit Walmington-on-sea with the vast majority of residents being multiple returners of an age and breakfasts reminded me of boarding school in the 70’s; but having said that we really enjoyed our stay. The place is immaculate, the pool area is lovely with ample sun beds and umbrellas and plenty of room to manoeuvre them during the day. The staff are all lovely and pleased to help. Our room was fine with a very comfy bed though the bathroom could do with modernising and the shower gel ration ran out early (so bring your own!) We hired a car for most of our stay so we’re out and about a lot and would have got itchy feet if we relied solely on the hotel and Katelios alone. But if you want a chilled time without animation teams and a quiet village on your doorstep surrounded by Brits then this is for you. Yes we would go back again and again use it as a good base for exploring the island.

Beautiful hotel! Very clean, friendly staff, beautiful location just 15 minute walk to sea front and restaurants. We had a premier room, which overlooked the mountains and we could see the sea. Towels and bedding changed every other day. The hotel is adult only and is more for the older generation, many guests had stayed at the hotel multiple times. Lovely lunch time food served at the poolside bar- very friendly and hard working staff at the bar. Only disappoint was the breakfast for a 4 star hotel, there was no fresh fruit, it was tinned syrupy fruit, only orange juice or water as a cold drink, muesli or cornflakes, and either pancakes or croissants (depending on what was decided to be put out) I was expecting fresh fruit for this star rated hotel. I have stayed in lower rated Greek hotels and had a better breakfast choice. There were a few warm items but they were lukewarm. This is sadly the only reason why I have not given the review 5 stars due to the breakfast.
