The Magnolia Resort

Adult only family run boutique resort. Very peaceful and private, but close enough to walk to vibrant restaurants for delicious local produce in the evenings. Always sun beds available at any time of the day. A varied bar lunch menu and a wide variety of drinks available at the bar. Breakfasts had a variety of fresh food, constantly being monitored and topped up by the chef. We found Magnolia perfect for our type of holiday, but would not suit anyone expecting lots of high octane Greek entertainment.

We stayed at the Magnolia Resort in the last week of September. Whilst the room was basic, it did need updating and the pool area is set out nicely, with plenty of sunbeds. However, as it was the hotel's last week, the breakfast choice was terrible. Each day, there was less and less to chose from. I asked when fresh eggs would be coming out and was advised, not until the other's had gone - which didn't look appealing. Although, the lady in charge of the restaurant, did bring some more out a bit later, but by that time, I had picked something else. Also, they run out of brown bread, thee bacon also started to be cut in half and the fruit selection ended up with just orange segments as a choice. I also asked for sugar for our room, to be told that as we were not premium customers, this is not replenished! This is meant to be a 4* hotel, and I would expect this to be a standard, as in many other 4* hotels we have stayed in. They also started to remove sun lounger cushions about 4 days before their last day, apparently they needed washing - you would have thought this could wait. Then sunbeds, outside breakfast tables and other seating around the hotel started to be packed away. Unfortunately, you definitely got the feeling that you were in the way, as all they wanted to do was pack up. As guests, we had paid a lot of money to stay here, which they accepted, so they should look to treat their guests better or not accept bookings if they don't want you there. They do give you a leaving gift as a reminder of your stay there, but to be honest, I would rather have had sugar, tea and coffee in my room.

This was our Honeymoon.... What a disappointment.. We paid good money and had read the reviews that rated the hotel 10/10. I speak for ourselves and other guests as we all spoke of the same views. On the day we arrived the staff who took us to our room kept saying how highly rated the hotel was(10/10) How different it was. The breakfast was getting less and less every day in the last week. Bacon was cut into 1 inch pieces and everything else was reducing down. We weren't allowed milk for our morning drinks in room and tea etcbecame random with some days not receiving anything. The snack bar was running out of food and drink and for other guests who had a later transfer on last day they were told the pool and snack bar would be closed. Sunbeds were being packed up and taken away whilst we sunbathed that week which made us all feel like we were an inconvenience to staff. Surely we should have been given the same standards ,service and enough food and drink till the end. One couple spent the last 5days trying to get a flight home as they were so disgusted. We were hoping for a truly memorable Honeymoon after a wonderful Wedding day.

what a fantastic little hotel, if you’re looking for a very laid back time this is the place.Staff are so friendly nothing is too much trouble, George is the main man at the bar in the evening best gin and tonic’s. rooms are clean and tidy comfortable. short walk down the road towards the beach all the way along the front are tavernas restaurants, if you’re hungry morning star restaurant , lighthouse we went to twice food and service very good. i can’t believe how quickly the week went we really didn’t want to leave, we will be back

This was our second visit to the Magnolia and again a lovely stay, nothing at all to fault. The hotel and grounds are kept spotless. Staff work very hard and make you feel very welcome and looked after. Breakfast more than sufficient, Pastries, fruit, cereal, yoghurt, bacon, eggs, beans so a good variety. Huge pool, plenty of sunbeds and pool towells. Good pool bar for drinks and snacks. Peaceful location, 5 minutes from persas or the bakery both worth a visit and 15 minutes from beach front. I traveled with my husband but would happily return with my daughter or friends, it offers all you need. Tips would be try the wine tasting details at reception and well worth the short taxi drive and try the fishing boat trip from the harbour but book in advance. For restaurants, saint peters, Maria’s, persa or tsabo for us all worth a visit. Food in saint peters incredible and excellent wine selection.
