The Magnolia Resort

Perfect! We’re home after 2 weeks at Magnolia Resort and I must say we were not disappointed. From the moment we arrive we were greeted by kind friendly owners and staff. Walking through the pool area to our rooms you were hit by the tranquility of it all. The staff take you and your cases to your room and explain everything to you. We stayed in a premium room which had lovely high vaulted ceilings. The view from the balcony was of the surrounding country side. In the room was a welcome card and a couple of bottles of local white wine plus a couple of bottles of water. Every morning we were greeted at breakfast by Helen. Who always had a smile on her face was cheerful, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Our maid was lovely; sorry but I didn’t get her name but we did stay in room 109; she too was always happy and left some beautiful towel decorations on the bed. Next the daytime bar staff Chris and Panos. Again always full of smiles and chat. Nothing was too much trouble. You ordered your drinks and they brought them to you whether you were sitting around the pool or in the bar area. Lunches ordered and served at the bar were delicious. In the evening there was George serving behind the bar always happy to help. The owners sat outside by reception and greeted you every morning and evening with smiles. I know there were other staff members working behind the sense and about the hotel but we did not have much contact with them. However when you saw them they always smiled and said hello. Be aware if you’re coming for the part vibe then you’re at the wrong hotel. This is a very relaxing and peaceful place. Upon arrival we were given pool towels. should you wish to exchange them there was a 5 Euro fee for the two. As we checked out we were given a small parting gift from the owners which was very kind and thought full of them. I won’t tell you what we got as I don’t want to spoil it for you. Many of the guests we spoke to were return visitors; what does that say about this hotel.?! In the evenings we strolled down the hill to the town where there were around 12 Tavernas offering fantastic food and amazing location on the sea front. We’re hoping to return here in the future.

Just back from a fantastic week at this hotel From start to finish was a relaxing peaceful holiday the rooms are great the air-conditioning was brilliant and the shutters on the patio door were amazing because it meant you have complete blackout when you were sleeping. Pool area was lovely you didn’t need to reserve a sunbed but I like to be in the same place so I did that but it was not a problem. Breakfast was nice The snack bar had a really good menu homemade burgers were great and all the items are not very expensive great to share The walk to town only took about 10 minutes it’s quite a nice little walk all the restaurants along the front are really nice. Had some lovely food first time in Greece so we tried all the Greek food was amazing. All of the hotel staff are really friendly, especially the bar staff and the lunch staff always made us feel really welcome. Hotel never felt like it was really busy so it was always really peaceful. The pool was a good size which meant i got to do lots of lengths which was great. Was a great touch when we checked out we got a gift from the owner so that was really nice. Definitely will coming back was a lovely lovely hotel.

We are home now after a weeks break in stunning Katelios, Kefalonia and we have had such a lovely time staying at the Magnolia hotel and being looked after their lovely staff. The hotel is situated in a beautiful, quiet area of the village and about 15 minutes walk to the sea front where the quaint sea front is where the few shops and most of the restaurants are….but the Magnolia has a couple of well stocked mini markets and tavernas very close by. The lovely Magnolia is a well run and spotlessly clean adults only hotel and from my personal experience all the rooms have a balcony, most with a beautiful view. I always look for a nice breakfast when booking a hotel and I was certainly not disappointed with with this hotels, although it did not have a massive selection of food it was lovely and it was so nice sitting on the terrace eating breakfast with the beautiful surroundings and mountains overlooking the hotel. After reading people’s comments on the Magnolia hotel I can’t help but feel confused why people do not do their research before booking a hotel as my wife and I explored and read various reviews online so we were certainly not disappointed with lovely hotel and its location, also I have read recent reviews what they describe as strict management and I can’t help but wonder if this review was from one of the English women who had obviously been drinking and causing a annoying disturbance in and around the pool until they were approached they who I think was one of the owners of the hotel. My wife and I would most certainly recommend this beautiful friendly hotel for a lovely peaceful break on the stunning island of Kefalonia and we would like to thank the lovely management and staff for taking great care of us during our stay.

Magnolia hotel nice clean pool The rooms clean & tidy however there was nothing else to do onsight. We had to travel by taxis if needed to go anywhere which made the holiday overly expensive. The towels were changed twice on my holiday which when on a seven day stay this did not seem enough and should be changed on a daily basis. Pool area closely monitored by hotel staff making the stay feeling uncomfortable & concerning as at times they did not display professionalism with some of the holiday makers.

Location good for tavernas in the village 15 min walk away but no shops.Small mini mart up the road - 2 min walk. We spent a huge amount on taxis getting to Skala - 10 mins by taxi, Agostoli - about 50-60 mins Lourdes beach- 60 mins. Accommodation is very
