Firstly, the view and the bay are amazing, and despite the negatives below, we would quite possibly return just for that. As others have said, the hotel is built into the side of a very steep hill, so anyone with mobility issues or kids buggys needs to be aware of this. Getting from the beach back up to the 5th floor is a considerable effort. Is it 5-star? Not in my view. The rooms and bathrooms are tired and the two lifts look like they're from the 1970s! There's one at either end of the building, they hold about six people, and in reality you end up using the stairs most of the time rather than wait ages. If you don't like wasps, my advice would be to stay away from Corfu in August! Obviously not the hotel's fault, but every mealtime became painful. You can ask the staff for burning coffee smoke to keep them away, although you then feel as though you're sitting in a smoke cloud. It was a shame staff didn't suggested this earlier in the week while they watched us frantically batting wasps away every meal. The beach BBQ evening was a non eating event because you couldn't see the chicken for all the wasps sat on them. The beach bar was a good spot with friendly staff. Breakfast itself was OK, but the service wasn't. Other reviews mention staff quickly removing plates because of the wasps — we didn't see that once all week. We regularly ended up clearing our own table or going to the staff stations to refill our own coffee. It felt more like a lack of training and management than a shortage of staff. Sunbeds are another issue. After about 9:45am, forget getting one on the beach or around the pool. We didn't see towels removed from unused beds once all week, despite regularly seeing towels put down at 9am and nobody appearing until after midday. There's virtually nothing immediately outside the hotel in terms of shops etc. A taxi into Corfu Town was around €40 each way. We didn't try the bus. We paid extra for a higher sea-view room and I'm glad we did because this hotel really is all about that view. It was superb. Special mention to the guy in the straw hat serving the beach area — absolutely amazing. He worked all day, every day, and always had a smile on his face. Unfortunately, service elsewhere was generally slow. On our final morning we actually left without the coffee we'd ordered because it took so long. On other occasions we'd just go to the bar ourselves because staff were chatting, on their phones or simply didn't seem interested in serving. Wi-Fi was awful, although I suspect that may be as much about the island/location as the hotel. We didn't use the boat hire directly on the beach because the reviews weren't great. Instead, we walked about 30 minutes to 35 Boats, who had excellent reviews and were brilliant. Definitely recommended — although book in advance before making the downhill walk! So overall, definitely not a 5-star hotel in my opinion. There are undoubtedly better hotels out there and quite a few things here need improving. And yet... we may still come back. That probably tells you just how good the bay and the view are.

Absolutely beautiful hotel, incredible stay, but a serious safety warning about the boat trip which was arranged by the hotel concierge. We loved our stay here. It was a stunning property, attentive staff, everything we hoped for however I need to flag a serious safety issue with a boat excursion booked through the hotel concierge, so other families can make an informed choice. We paid £200pp for a day trip to Paxos and Anti Paxos, choosing the hotel’s operator over cheaper independents as we assumed it would be safer. The boat departed from the hotel's private deck. The islands were beautiful, but the 1.5-hour return crossing was extremely choppy, and no life jackets were offered. My husband had to hold onto our 9 year-old to stop her being thrown from the boat and we were all absolutely terrified. With children on board, they could easily have fallen out and drowned. Life jackets are supposedly mandatory on boats in Greece, and notably, our kids were given them without question for pedalos and parasailing in the bay, yet not on this far riskier open sea channel trip. When we complained, it took a day for a response. The concierge then showed us a photo on watts app of a life jacket box, which felt almost insulting as we’re not convinced it was even genuine, and jackets were never offered to us regardless. We were given a full refund, which we appreciated, but it doesn’t undo how dangerous it felt. This was a major safety failure. I wouldn’t recommend this trip for families or children. If you do book a boat trip, choose a larger boat and confirm life jacket provision before boarding, don’t assume the hotel’s own operator is automatically safer.

Lovely hotel with its own beach and amazing pool. Food excellent, staff go out of their way to be helpful. Beautiful location, very quiet, sea was amazing. Rooms very comfortable with good aircon. Courtesy bus into Corfu town, boat hire on beach. Would definitely come again
