Aegean Bay

Thisnis the 2nd time we have stayed at this hotel. Its perfect for us being so close to the beach and bus stop to Kos. The hotel didnt disappoint. It is clean, friendly and a lovely laid back relaxing place. The food was good. There is always something for everyone. The restaurant, although busy was quick moving mainly due to the staff led by George. Alberto on reception was always smiling and very helpful. ( he likes sweets and is particularly fond of Galaxy Ripple) . Kirran in the bar was also always very happy, gave great service and has an uncanny ability to remember your drink preferences. The animation team led by Jethro and Elizabeta were also excellent fun. (Congratulations Jethro on your marriage). A special mention also to Anchela on the housekeeping team, who always cleaned and prepped our room excellently and was always ready with a smile and a quick chat. Also she made several towel sculptures ( I'm practicing for next time). We made a few excursions, booked locally and had a fantastic time. Would recommend this hotel. Its no frills but fantastic . Would so recommend sunset in Zia

More like a 3 star hotel than 4 star. Needs money spending on it. Numerous small repairs required eg no handles on wardrobes (fell off). Handles broken on toilet doors. Food not great quality. Pools very nice and 5 minute walk to a lovely beach. Wouldn't go back to this hotel.

Recently returned from a two week holiday at the Aegean Bay Hotel in Kos. My Wife and I were there to celebrate our 43rd wedding anniversary, and picked this hotel in this location knowing that it would be quite chilled and relaxed. On arrival at reception, we were hurriedly explained where every thing was, and told to leave our luggage in reception and was pointed in the direction of the restaurant to get something to eat as it was closing in the nxt 20 minutes. We had a quick bite to eat and then went back to reception where we were asked to pay the tourist tax in cash ! ! which we found rather odd as wherever we have been it is always by card. We were then given a photocopy of a map of all the accomodation blocks in the hotels grounds, we were in block E room 113 On entering the room, we were instantly taken aback by the extremely bad standard of finish throughout the room in general and the shower area, actually that bad that my Wife was nearly in tears ! There was only a carcass of a single cupboard no door to it, a rail to hang only a few items of clothes ( nowhere near enough for a 2 week stay) with cobwebs in one of the corners of this "cupboard". There was an electric box hanging off the wall on a 6 inch length of cable, chips in the floor tiles patched in plaster on the walls etc etc and a grubby looking shower area with grime in grouting. We slept there that night without unpacking. I did not go to the front desk to complain initially as I thought it better to take it up with the Tui Rep. Christos. We explained everything to Christos, who told us that he would speak to the front desk on our behalf, they then allocated us a different room in block B which compared to the first room was the difference between night and day ! ! The following day after moving into the new room, the hotel left a letter of apology, a plate of fruit and two branded beach towels and a beach bag free of charge, which my Wife and I both appreciated......a very kind gesture. From then on everything turned out fine, not quite a 4 star hotel, but potentially could be ! Everywhere was kept exceptionally clean, All the front desk staff were very friendly and polite, as were all the waiters/waitresses in the restaurant (special mention to George who ran the restaurant so very well, and always welcomed us on arrival) The bar staff were always very polite and socialable, and also the people who looked after the grounds and kept everything looking cleanand tidy. Great selection of food in the restaurant, but could have been presented a little hotter as most of the time it was barely warm but still edible all the same. Location was good, the beach being less than ten minutes walk away, and distance to airport around 30 minutes. All in all we had a great time, but the first room we were allocated took a bit of shine off the start of our holiday, but overall we enjoyed, and we would like to say a big thanks to the hotel for being able to sort out our initial first impressions of what was otherwise a good holiday. We (two couples) have just returned from this lovely hotel. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and so hard working George the restaurant manager was so pleasant and always welcomed you with a smile and also a mention to the guy who makes the fresh pizza he was always smiling and helpful. The food was always varied and plentiful (admittedly it could be hotter but there is a microwave if needed) and the deserts were lovely. The wine and beer were both good and also plenty of soft drinks to choose from. Both pools are kept very clean with plenty of sun beds and Elizabeth one of the life guards was again very friendly and helpful. We all had a lovely holiday and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing break

We arrived very late at night we were given one door key no map of hotel and a sandwich from the fridge. Got to our room. It was small but clean the sandwich was very dry so threw away. Nxt morning went to reception to get another key but they don’t give you map of hotel. Food was very poor. Selection was not good and the food was always cold. Never saw 1 banana in the whole week we were there nor kiwi. The fresh orange that was on display at breakfast was just not acceptable. We were not allowed to have an ice cream until after 4pm! Drinks at the bar were all free until after 11 then you had to pay even all inclusive . The hotel was clean and tidy, reception was calm sift lighting and welcoming. There were no teapots or milk jugs so if you wanted tea at your table you had to put milk in a cup. We will never come here again this is not 4* we would say 3* at most
