Akti Coast Club Hotel

Výborný hotel nad průměrem, pohodlný rodinný pokoj sice stranou, ale s klidným okolím a výhledem k moři. Výborné jídlo a jeho široký výběr, značkový alkohol na hlavním baru, pěkné bazény, posilovna, upravená zeleň, dvě večeře s 9-chodovým menu s obsluhou v řeckém a italském stylu (italský je určitě lepší). Pár drobností jako špinavé skleničky, dočasné fronty na barech nebo příliš aktivní pokojská při úklidu. Příjemná písečná pláž s dostatkem lehátek, moře je tady na severu i přes vlny teplejší, než na jihu ostrova. Trochu chybí větší vyžití pro starší děti hlavně ve vodě. Na můj vkus jsou příliš často nabízeny spa služby a v případě většího vytížení jídelny obsluha zastavuje příchozí, ačkoli jsou na terase volná místa. Občas člověk hledal příbory nebo talířky, ale obsluha je jinak rychlá. Ne všude jsou k dispozici nádoby na tříděný odpad a množství spotřebovaných papírových kelímků je enormní.

Hotel byl příjemný . Personál milý a děvčata na recepci ochotná vyřešily náš problém na výbornou. Stravování výborné , všeho dostatek a jídlo doplňovali pravidelně. Večer animační programy. Byli jsme ubytováni v části jen pro dospělé i s bazénem, takže klid bez dětského ječení - super. Na pláži lehátka i slunečník zdarma. U hotelu zastávka autobus do hlavního města Kos jezdil několikrát denně. Procházkou asi 10 minut dojdete do menší vesničky , kde jsou hospůdky a pá obchodů.

This hotel is not a 4*! Bare with me… First the good points.. 1: Most staff are very polite and welcoming and great with children. 2: It’s in a very attractive setting…right next to the beach for lovely sunsets. 3: Spa was lovely and the staff are very helpful. Prices are quite reasonable. 4: The entertainment is very good! Do the waterpolo if you can, it’s a great laugh. The entertainers Marvin, Emillio, Emily etc etc (sorry if I’ve forgotten names) they were all excellent! And they are great with the children which is what you want! They really do work hard every day in the heat to keep the kids entertained. Now, for the not so good points… - On arrival late at night 12:30am, reception had 1 person working behind the desk whilst there is a bus load of guests just wanting to get their room. Slow to say the least. - Food is very average in the main buffet area. And it’s quite repetitive. - The Greek and Italian themed restaurants are somewhat disappointing. I’m not sure there was much point offering it to guests as it was well below par. - The lifeguard seems to go missing for a couple of hours each day. So if they are on lunch then why is there no cover? - There seems to be a lack of general maintenance around the property. As others have rightly so mentioned, the kids park play area is an accident waiting to happen. All the flooring is broken with huge potholes causing you and your kids to constantly trip over. - The kids pool is somewhat a little shabby also. The slides look like they could do with a good clean as there is high levels of dried chlorine all over the plastics. - The pool floor in the kids pool is a cause for concern as a few people were cutting their feet as it’s basically pebble-dash that’s sharp! - The air conditioning in the rooms is inadequate. It drips on the floor causing you and your child to slip over. We had to put a towel on the floor everyday to soak up the water. (Funny as the air conditioning in main buildings didn’t seem to drip anywhere). I have heard other guests complaining about the air conditioning units to reception but they say they are never fixed. The units look like they’ve been there since the 80’s. We reported it when we checked out on our last day as we knew it wouldn’t get sorted. Hopefully others see this and it might not be so much as a shock. - The main reception sliding doors didn’t work for the whole 10 nights we were there. They attempted to fix on the last day just as we were waiting for our transfer. The workmen were fixing it and a large metal plinth fell to the floor narrowly missing a woman who was about to walk through that area!! Again, no health and safety, no barriers, no warning. - Strangely there is a phone in the room but it doesn’t work? I’m guessing all the room phones are like this? - Fresh towels daily but they seem dirty/stained even though they’ve been washed? - Deck chairs in garden outside room had mould on them. - There seems to be a cat problem. Cats everywhere begging for food. Not ideal in a food setting. People seem to be feeding them which adds to the problem. Are these cats vaccinated/flee/wormed? Highly unlikely. - A couple of beers ordered at the bar one evening. The glasses are tiny. Not that much of a deal but the bar staff struggle with actually filling up the glass with fluid. After asking politely to top up said glass to the top, you are greeted with a rude grumble/confusion. - Cocktails are pre made. They are too sweet and not that nice. - Bathroom light constantly flickering like a horror movie. - Toilet constantly running water very slowly wasting huge amounts of water. - Basic family room is very small. Not really ideal for a family to begin with. I have heard of families upgrading their rooms to larger ones but be prepared to pay in excess of £1000 for the privilege. We had a cot in ours and you couldn’t swing a cat. - A couple of the refuse collectors/bin men to watch out for in the white battery powered carts… they tend to stare at women quite a lot making them feel uncomfortable and try to intimidate the men also. Watch out for those pair. - The bathroom and especially our room looked nothing like the brochure pictures. The bathroom was in need of some TLC. (I think this is systemic problem with most hotels and travel operators. They make the pictures look so good!) Now I know I’ve probably made it sound horrific but this is an honest review and I think these issues are relevant. On the whole we did have a nice time and the kids enjoyed it lots. It’s situated in a nice plot and the palm trees and buildings look nice. It’s a stones throw from the beach. And the beach is really good. Do the sunsets there. They are amazing. Also take the trip to Zia for the sunset in the mountains. It’s lovely. And eat in one one the proper Greek restaurants there. It puts the Greek themed restaurant at the hotel to shame. BUT, the hotel lacks that quality that you would expect of a 4*. A lot of these issues will still be there at the end of the season by the looks of the other reviews.

Emily was amazing, I opted for the deep tissue massage and the pressure was exactly what I required for my sports injuries. I feel much better and would highly recommend!

My son who’s 8 had a chocolate massage by Emily and thought it was amazing! Highlight of his trip :)
