Akti Coast Club Hotel

Výborný hotel nad průměrem, pohodlný rodinný pokoj sice stranou, ale s klidným okolím a výhledem k moři. Výborné jídlo a jeho široký výběr, značkový alkohol na hlavním baru, pěkné bazény, posilovna, upravená zeleň, dvě večeře s 9-chodovým menu s obsluhou v řeckém a italském stylu (italský je určitě lepší). Pár drobností jako špinavé skleničky, dočasné fronty na barech nebo příliš aktivní pokojská při úklidu. Příjemná písečná pláž s dostatkem lehátek, moře je tady na severu i přes vlny teplejší, než na jihu ostrova. Trochu chybí větší vyžití pro starší děti hlavně ve vodě. Na můj vkus jsou příliš často nabízeny spa služby a v případě většího vytížení jídelny obsluha zastavuje příchozí, ačkoli jsou na terase volná místa. Občas člověk hledal příbory nebo talířky, ale obsluha je jinak rychlá. Ne všude jsou k dispozici nádoby na tříděný odpad a množství spotřebovaných papírových kelímků je enormní.

Hotel byl příjemný . Personál milý a děvčata na recepci ochotná vyřešily náš problém na výbornou. Stravování výborné , všeho dostatek a jídlo doplňovali pravidelně. Večer animační programy. Byli jsme ubytováni v části jen pro dospělé i s bazénem, takže klid bez dětského ječení - super. Na pláži lehátka i slunečník zdarma. U hotelu zastávka autobus do hlavního města Kos jezdil několikrát denně. Procházkou asi 10 minut dojdete do menší vesničky , kde jsou hospůdky a pá obchodů.

I have stayed in many 4 and 5 star resorts in Greece and Turkey, and this resort is definitely not in any of their leagues and is a 3 star resort at best (regardless of the official rating that the resort manager will reply with). Check in. No real pros to speak off, arrived at 1.30pm to be told the rooms weren’t ready. I understand that the check in isn’t till 3pm but if this was a 4 or 5 star resort, they would be more proactive and look at peoples arrival times to accommodate an earlier or later check in. When we were checked in, the member of staff, also booked us in both the Greek and Italians la carte restaurants (note, you can only go to these once unlike other resorts). We queued up for the Greek à la carte on the Friday, but we wasn’t on their list to attend that night, the receptionist hadn’t confirmed our booking at check in like he said he had (this happened to another couple as well), when we went to reception to sort this out, the female receptionist just shrugged her shoulders and asked when we wanted to book in for it, no empathy from her at all. Room - Pros Big room Separate toilet and shower Toiletries in shower Balcony Safe Kettle and coffee machine Hair dryer Room - Cons Paper cups and wooden sticks for tea and coffee, bring your own mugs Kettle doesn’t have a filter No bathroom essentials such as tissues or ear buds No iron Extra bed when there’s only 2 people in the room - that’s just laziness Cheap plastic chairs on the balcony and no idea why there were 4 of them when there’s only 2 people in the room Only 2 bottles of water in the fridge which are not replenished (with the receptionist telling me to buy it in the shop - you shouldn’t have to buy water for your room when you are in an all inclusive resort). Only 3 single plug sockets and 1 of those was hanging out of the wall TV - 1 English Channel, crap Quiet Pool - Pros Excellent barmaid ‘Mihalitsa’ who works so hard, and pours a perfect pint, the best worker on the resort by a mile Quiet with good sunbeds and umbrellas Good beer on draft (not sure why this is different to other bars) Pool a good size for the area and is largely protected from the strong winds Quiet Pool - Cons All drinks are served in paper cups, bring your own plastic beer and wine glasses All cocktails are pre made, and the wine is out of taps (drinks are poor throughout the resort) Pool is cold in September, should be heated À la carte Restaurants No real pros to be spoken off but lots of cons You sit down at 6.30pm and everyone eats the same regardless of whether you like the food on offer or not Only drinks you can have are beer, wine or soft drinks in these (or so I was told in both restaurants, so that could be called laziness or lack of staff). This is a very lazy concept from the resort, this needs a complete re-think as these are the worse à la carte’s we have been to in Greece, islands such as Rhodes, Corfu and Crete do this so much better and this resort has the potential for 3 decent run à la carte’s if it pulls its finger out. Buffet - Pros and Cons Breakfast - ok Lunch - only had a gyros from the outside restaurant and it was cold / you can get baguettes from the beach bar which are good Dinner - bun fight, by the time you sit down your dinner is cold Old plastic seats and tables and all the staff clearing the tables should smile occasionally, it doesn’t hurt. Bars - Evening Drinks are in glasses of an evening I have never stayed in a 4 or 5 star hotel in Greece or Turkey where you are not served drinks at your table of an evening As mentioned, all cocktails are pre made, and the wine is out of taps (drinks are poor throughout the resort) Lobby bar - one member of staff, more alcohol went on the bar / floor than it made into the glass. Buffet bar - too busy talking to themselves than serving drinks. Beach bar - the staff here were good, but it still doesn’t make up for the poor quality of drinks. Entertainment We spent most of our time off of the resort of an evening in Marmari and KOS Town to get away from the poor food and drink choices, so we only watched one show in the amphitheatre which was an acrobatic act and one singing duo at the beach bar and we enjoyed both…….but any resort that puts on karaoke is not a 4 or 5 star resort. Cats - bloody everywhere !!! Location The resort is situated a 20 minute walk into the village of Marmari where you will find half a dozen restaurants, a supermarket, a tour company and a car hire place, that’s about it unless you walk a further 10 minutes to a pharmacist. If you want to go into KOS Town for a wider selection of restaurants, shops and a pretty harbour, the bus stops at the back of the resort and the journey takes 30 minutes. The resort is on the windy side of the island and when I say windy, I mean hurricane windy!!!! Overall, if you’re travelling as a couple and you expect to be staying in a 4 star resort, you’ll be disappointed, as I’m being generous with a 3/5……..I’m not sure if the management have taken their eye off the ball as it’s nearing the end of season or not, but there’s definitely work required over the winter for when it opens up again in 2027 as this resort is tired.

We booked a room with a pool which was really nice. The room was comfortable and the bed was nice and comfortable. The complex was right next to a sand beach with sun beds. The food was excellent with a huge variety of dishes and the cakes were to die for. The staff were really nice and friendly. There was entertainment from 21:00 to 22:00 but was to everyone’s taste. Also if you go there take a plastic glass as you could only get paper cups if you wanted to take your beer or cocktails to the room. But the drinks were really good quality. A taxi to Tingaki was 15 euro and there was plenty of great bars and entertainment there.
