The location of this hotel is excellent, rooms clean with a very comfortable bed and excellent shower....staff are very friendly and breakfast great with a good choice of items, hot and cold. However there are areas for improvement,specifically the bar area where we had the flattest gin and tonics ever, they were replaced and we got exactly the same!! so we decided to have our evening drink down at the Avico hotel which is maybe why we never saw the bar area at Arato busy. Also, 2 days before leaving these items appeared in our room - scales, shoehorn, notepad,tissues and a mirror...then the evening before we were leaving we received a brochure all about the hotel and 2 pillow sprays - would have been nice to receive on first evening! I rarely write reviews but this was not an inexpensive hotel and we expected more

We had a wonderful stay in the new ARATO hotel on the edge of Kos Town. The ambience is cool, contemporary Greek, with many beautiful touches throughout the hotel. Service is attentive without being overbearing and the staff are lovely. The pool area is relaxing and beautifully appointed, with extra comfortable, modern sunbeds. Our room was small but perfectly formed, then we got upgraded for our last two nights to a huge room with a private pool - bliss. The location is quiet, just the right distance from Kos Town to be out of the hubbub but a nice easy stroll for dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back - an excellent experience from start to finish!

Nice adult only hotel with decent facilities and ideal for a few days away in the sun. It's situated within walking distance of Kos town where there are lots of bars and restaurants and it's really close to a few beach front bars which are just around the corner. We had a balcony suite with hot tub. The room was very nice and the balcony massive, however its at the end of the hotel near to another hotel pool where there were noisy kids shouting all day. didn't bother us too much as we were out most of the time though. We didn't eat in the restaurant on site but we had breakfast, which was ok and pretty standard. Check in took a long time as there was only one guy taking bags to rooms and it felt like ages. Maybe its just me but when I get to a hotel I like to check into the room straight away and get sorted, not be asked to go sit at the pool and have a drink then 20 minutes later be asked to sign a piece of paper and then 30 more minutes later finally be shown the room. Could all have been done a lot better. There is a rooftop bar but it was only open 1 night when we were there for the full moon and was closed all other times. The gym and spa are good, used the gym 3 times and hardly anyone in it, used the spa once as when its so hot outside its not where we wanted to be. We are non smokers and there were a lot of people smoking around the pool, which wasn't pleasant, we aren't used to that and would have been nice if smokers had to go somewhere else to smoke. There were also a lot of people sat watching videos on their phones with the sound on, maybe that's just the way the world is now...... Pool was only open between 10 and 6, so no late evening swimming which was a bit of a disappointment. Overall was a decent hotel

This lovely hotel is walkable to the old town, the port, and Lambi Beach. It has new rooms, furnishings, and amenities. There is a nice central pool with surrounding sunbeds, beanbag chairs, and umbrellas (we appreciated the "please don't do that" card left by the manager on sunbeds that people tried to reserve early in the morning by leaving their towel and gear). The included breakfast is varied with hot and cold options. There is a modest spa, which you will visit to at least regularly exchange your pool/beach towel for a fresh one. The gym has the expected exercise equipment and machines. Our room was nicely appointed, with king bed, rainshower, and large balcony. Our friends had the larger room with the swim-up pool that faced inwards into the hotel courtyard, which was a nice view. The keyless entry with number code was a great option. We would have liked a bit more shelf space, but that wasn't strictly necessary and we hung up a lot of our clothing. The cleaning staff, restaurant staff, and reception staff were professional, courteous, and helpful. Much appreciation to the manager Maria for being so responsive to our emails regarding our separate arrival times from different cities. Of note: I would've perhaps appreciated a better response upon arrival from the first staff member I met at reception when I asked about where to park my car; "Well, anywhere on the road!" wasn't obvious to me as a visitor, even if it was to her as a local. Thankfully, her colleague the bellman much more helpfully directed me to the street where I could likely find nearby parking. On this point, if you intend to have a car to drive around Kós, please note there are only four spaces in front of the hotel. There is indeed free street parking and a larger free parking lot nearby.
