Almyrida Beach

This is a lovely hotel - staff were super-nice, friendly and kind, and the service was fantastic everywhere. It's located right over a road from a lovely sandy beach, and there are multiple great tavernas within spitting distance, also a few shops, some nice walks, 30-40 mins from Chania. Across the car park is its sister hotel, which has a rooftop bar with fantastic cocktails (happy hour 5-7 pm...) and a small infinity-type pool and you can use those facilities too, which really adds to the options. Hotel pool is small (and cold in October... sea was much warmer) but clean and no problem getting sunbeds (even four together) and a nice pool bar next to it. It has a quirky cute windmill but you do kind of look out on to the car park, so the beach or rooftop pool have nicer views. Just a couple of steps across the road and on to the beach for views of the pretty bay the hotel is in. Plenty of nearby restaurants but also short 15 min walk ish on the road towards Plaka takes you to a couple of others on the hill with lovely views of the whole bay. Would be great sunset views up there, though it was cloudy and windy the day we went so didn't see it ourselves. Room was clean and comfortable but advise avoiding no 116 if you can... it's billed as 'sea view' as it faces right out on to the sea but as its the lowest floor it actually faces onto the car park and road, and a tree almost entirely blocks any view of the actual sea. Also very noisy at one point in the night - not sure what was going on but got about half an hour of music and people talking and singing at 3 am, not sure where it was coming from but sounded like from the street or one of the nearby bars closing time. In addition the lights in the tree outside mean its never fully dark and the fridge made various noises that kept waking me up, so not totally restful in that particular room. Apart from that specific room, no complaints, loved the hotel and location and would go back.

Good location, 5 minutes to beach, restaurants and shops. Very clean and well maintained, with a friendly atmosphere. Excellent food choices.

I had such a lovely, relaxing stay right by the sea. It’s good value with comfortable rooms and the staff were friendly too.

We left early due to weather conditions were awful high winds and water from sea up to hotel but the hotel and staff and food was lovely . Like to go back when weather better .
