Almyrida Residence Boutique

We chose the hotel for it's location and it didn't disappoint. Literally over the road from the beach, with beach beds available for hotel guests. We had a fantastic greeting from Theo, but all the staff were very friendly and helpful, including Anastasia in the restaurant and the super smiley housekeeping lady (didn't catch her name). We stayed for 10 nights and enjoyed cocktails at the roof bar most evenings. The rooms were superb, with excellent air conditioning and were kept immaculately clean by the housekeeping team. Breakfast on the roof was amazing with a huge selection. We stayed half board, so enjoyed the buffet dinner over the road at the Almyrida Beach Hotel, but also opted to eat at some of the local restaurants too. The only niggle would be trying to get a bed at either of the pools was difficult. Guests would put towels on the beds before breakfast at 8am, but then stay on the beds all day. There were options to use the pool over the road or the beach too. Almyrida village is only small, but everyone is very friendly. There are enough shops and restaurants and car hire is available there. There is also a public bus service along the coast. We would definitely visit this hotel again.

We stayed for ten nights at the end of June. The staff were so friendly and made us feel very special, particularly Kyril, Georgina and Anastasia. The Residence part of the hotel is just opposite the main hotel, so you get the benefit of a quieter more relaxed place with an adults-only rooftop pool, while still enjoying the facilities of the main hotel if you want them. Breakfast was of a very high standard and the rooftop bar made the best mojitos I’ve had in a long time. Location-wise, it’s perfect. Right on the beachfront and close to all of the restaurants. Every day, the housekeeping staff (who were so friendly) left towel art on the bed. Such a cute touch. We felt sad to leave and have already looked at availability for next year.

Spotlessly clean hotel. Staff are excellent and hard working especially those in the Thea bar area. Rooms are spacious and bathrooms good with walk in shower. Proximity to restaurants and beach is fantastic. Would have been 5 stars if the late check out had been better. Many flights from Crete are late in evening. Bags were left in an unlocked room and the only two showers available were here too. It was so hot in this room

Unfortunately we are coming to the end of our latest stay at the Almyrida Residence after 10 days. Once again, we’ve had a fantastic time in an amazing hotel. Everything about the hotel is quality, the accommodation is spotlessly clean, comfortable, and modern. The food is very good and there is a wide choice of things to eat. One small criticism is that there could be a few more gluten free options as my wife is coeliac, but it’s a very small point. On a day to day basis the staff are really polite, helpful, and attentive when needed, I have to especially mention Kieros, who seems to be everywhere at all times, Tonia, who organises your stay, and Theo, on reception, oh. and the other reception lady whose name I do not know. All of the staff are brilliant without exception and always have time for queries. The ladies who clean the rooms and make the amazing towel sculptures every day are also fantastic. We did miss Sofia this year, who was lovely, and the Surreal Bar is not the same without her. Almyrida is a lovely, quiet, unspoilt resort, which we have now visited every year for about twenty years. It does not change, is relaxed, and suits those who are after a totally chilled out holiday. We will definitely come back next year and I intend to book again as soon as I get back to the UK. Having read the reviews I was pretty certain we would be happy here. And we certainly were. Lovely hotel, spotlessly clean & every one of the staff so friendly & helpful. Beautiful location in a bay with a perfect beach & sea. Loads of superb Tavernas all along the road. Special mention to Erotokritos.
