Asana

We were disappointed with the Asana. We'd specifically requested a balcony room overlooking the pool - based on the nice photos the hotel uses in its marketing, but was initially provided with a very different room in what felt like a basement. We complained, but had to spend our first night in this room. Credit to the hotel for moving us into another room - which looked like the ones in the pictures. For those visiting from somewhere other than France, be warned the Asana caters primarily to French guests. The entertainment is in French, the sing-songs and music is French, the football, when it is shown as part of the hotel's entertainment programme, is French. This is why the hotel employs an entertainment manager - also French. The French guests looked like the were having a great time, but we felt excluded. This was probably unintentional. Not the hotel's fault, but we had very bad weather during our stay, and as there are virtually no facilities other than an outdoor pool and outdoor bar, we found ourselves sat in the cold shivering a lot. I would really urge the hotel to install an indoor bar in the vast reception area it has. Also, about a third of the seating for the restaurant is outdoors, so we were regularly stood around waiting for people to vacate a table indoors before being able to sit for meals. The hotel staff could manage this better, perhaps by allocating tables with a restaurant manager. Noise - theres a lot of disruption through the night as guests come and go, both to and from from night clubs, but also to and from the airport with suitcases. This happened every night; we didn't have a single night without waking up at some point because of noisy guests or the rattle of luggage wheels. Water and power - the hotel was without water for about six hours on one afternoon and evening. The hotel really ought to have provided us with bottled water - it did not. We also had power outages, but these were brief. Cleanliness - the Asana was very clean. Excellent in this respect. Food - across the week this was excellent. A massive well done and thank you to the chefs and kitchen staff. We loved the food. Staff - all delightful and well mannered, we liked the team a lot.

We had an amazing stay at this hotel. The service was top-notch, the rooms were clean and spacious, and the location was perfect. Every staff member we encountered was polite and eager to help. Thank you for making our holiday so relaxing and enjoyable. We will definitely be back!

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Asana Hotel in Crete! Everything was perfect from the moment we arrived until the day we left. The reception staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and always ready to help with a smile. The food was delicious, with a great variety of fresh and tasty options every day. A special thank you to the bartenders, Thanasis and Dimitris, who were always friendly, professional, and made excellent drinks. They truly helped create a wonderful atmosphere throughout our stay. We would also like to give a special mention to Doudou, the hotel's animator. His energy, enthusiasm, and positive attitude made every day more enjoyable. He did a fantastic job keeping guests entertained and creating a fun, relaxed atmosphere. The entire hotel was clean, well-maintained, and had a peaceful, relaxing ambiance. We couldn't have asked for a better vacation. We highly recommend Asana Hotel to anyone visiting Crete and would be delighted to come back again. Thank you to the whole team for making our holiday so special!
