Wow. We've just returned from 11 nights at the nest. We arrived at about 11.30 pm at night after a long day travelling. The reception isn't manned after 11 pm, so the security guard took us to our room. The room was lovely and clean, we were both tired and just wanted a shower, unfortunately we couldn't figure it out so we called the security guy who came to turn it on but it wouldn't come on. We went to bed and hoped we could get it sorted in the morning. After a few hours of sleep, we got up, went to reception, and luckily, Pangelis on reception was super helpful. The maintenance guy came and fixed it straight away. The other issue was the tv in the room. It was a smart tv, so when we tried logging in, it was problematic. Pangelis called maintenance, and Stelios came. Turns out because the tv's are IQ, you can not log into netflix or any other app apart from Prime. This wasn't a problem for us but I think if you're going to advertise that rooms have smart tv's they need to be smart. As it was my husbands birthday while we were there, we got a room upgrade to a sea view room 5 days in, and it was gorgeous. Breakfast- amazing choices both hot and cold options. Gorgeous outside area overlooking the ocean. Staff - the staff were outstanding, there was nothing too much. Always greeted with a smile. We spent quite a bit of time around the pool as it was so beautiful and peaceful. Whether it was at breakfast, reception, the pool bar, maintenance or cleaning, they were so helpful and friendly. Location- The hotel is at the top of a hill, so it's very peaceful. There aren't any bars or restaurants in the immediate vicinity apart from the hotel restaurant. If you walk down the hill and then turn left and walk for about 20 mins, you then arrive at a little section of restaurants and a spar supermarket. If you want to go to the port, you would either need to get the bus from the nearest bus stop (mediterranean Hotel) or get a taxi. There is no Uber, but if you download the Freenow app, it's the cretan version. We got taxis to the port from the hotel and it cost us about €24 return. The port is great for bars/restaurants. The hotel restaurant - We decided on a few nights to have dinner in the restaurant for a change. There is a daily menu for people on B&B is €30pp. Some people might not want the set menu and may just want a main or 2 courses rather than the set menu. The A La Carte menu is the same menu you have around the pool bar during the day, which was a little disappointing. However, despite that, the food is fantastic. We ordered the gyros platter and the chicken skewer, which were lovely. We also ordered dessert- the chocolate lava cake and again was gorgeous. We'd previously had the pizza and club sandwhich around the pool and they were also great. I would suggest a different menu for the evening. There were about 6/7 options for mains but it would have been good to see a wider range of options for an evening menu. Moussaka being one of them, kleftiko, stifado a couple of others. I feel that a better evening menu would encourage more people to eat at the restaurant. We would highly recommend this hotel as it's one of the best we have stayed in (we travel a lot). It's so clean and fresh. Apart from a few tweaks that could be easily fixed, it was almost perfect.
Just returned from a very nice stay at The Nest. The hotel as a whole was a pleasure to stay in, very clean and tidy throughout. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly, always helpful and happy to assist with any queries about the local area and things to do. This is a very quiet location, so if you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing stay this is perfect. The food on offer was to a very good standard and the breakfast was excellent. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel.
I really enjoyed my stay the Nest Resort together with my mother. Really nice hotel & staff. We also had a Massage at the Spa with Kalliopi and it was a great experience. Would absolutely recommend it!
Great experience staying at the nest! Amazing, helpful, friendly people working in the reception, bar and restaurant! Very cozy and comfortable pool area and REALLY great food and drinks!
The perfect holiday location for a relaxed holiday with family and friends. Excellent service, stunning views, cozy interior and terrace with amazing pool, more than great local soulfood kitchen (gread food design and craftmanship), excellent selection of wines and cocktails. The kids loved it, too. We never want to have holidays any where else again. Will definitely come back.
