Yria Beach Hotel

We checked in on the 20th August as a group of friends. We had rented a sub basement room for 6 nights, expecting nothing crazy fancy but clean and comfortable as this is advertised as a four star property. I never would have expected to find the filth that we did. Firstly, when you enter the room there is a horrific damp and mould like smell, and it doesn’t get much better when the door is left open throughout the day. There is no door on the shower in the bathroom so the whole bathroom floor ends up becoming a wet room. Because there is no ventilation and no sunlight to dry it out, it ends up becoming mouldy and filthy. On the first night I noticed that sheets on one of the beds were all ripped and stained, which is not what you expect. The other bed had sand underneath the sheets which makes me think the room was not cleaned properly. We communicated this to reception the next morning and they changed the sheets. The problem with the reception was that it was luck of the draw if someone was there or not. So when you had an issue you had to wait around until someone arrived. They were friendly enough but not excellent service. On the second day we asked if someone could give us a shower curtain or something so that the bathroom wouldn’t get so flooded. A handyman knocked on the door, my friend was in the shower so I asked if he could come back in 10 mins. After 30 mins I went to check at the reception and the lady working there told me he had gone home! Not great communication. We got lots of extra towels from the reception so made due. On the third day the handyman showed up, and after he left the bathroom we noticed he had installed a toilet roll holder on the wall, no that was completely useless. In the evening we found worms or larvae on the floor in the bathroom and by that point we had enough and demanded to change rooms. The reception was only able to change rooms the following day so we had a very restless nights sleep knowing how unsanitary the room was. Once we had switched rooms they were fine and the staff took extra care with cleaning etc. but it is definitely not a 4 star, the new rooms I would say are a 3 star at best. I wouldn’t give the sub basement room even a 1 star. Upon checkout we weren’t offered anything for the unsanitary conditions we had to endure, not even some free drinks or a partial refund. This room massively impacted our holidays and the amount of hours I spent waiting around and speaking to people at reception to address issues in the hotel. There were also other issues in the room, such as lots of rust flecks by the sink, the mosquito net being ripped, and the WiFi not working in the room, but that is nothing compared to the filth we had to sleep in. I would not recommend the sub basement room to my worst enemy. The only reason this review is 2 stars is because the new rooms provided were adequate.

Booked a 2 bedroom which didn’t exist 1 bedroom with bed in living room photos of hotel are computer degenerated. So looks nothing like the hotel in reality. The sand on the beach was not cleaned up, lots of debris. No air con in living area and the one in the bedroom looked 40 yrs old and wasn’t very powerful. Bathroom was haphazardly fixed , towel hook hanging off no handles on cabinet. Room was not mopped once in the 2 weeks I was there. Breakfast was a joke, cold scrambled eggs cold fried eggs there is no food counter to keep food hot or chilled. No toasting machine so just sliced bread no sausages no bacon one type of cheese sliced so thin it was transparent. Very noisy between Friday and Sunday as locals bring the kids to the pool so ur hard pressed to find a subbed. Drinks at bar were extortion 5€ for a slush puppy which was only half filled in the cup. Patio door you couldn’t see out of because it was so old and rusty. One curtain that didn’t cover the patio door. A fridge in the room that didn’t keep anything cold. Definitely not a 4 star hotel more likened to a 2 star. Have stayed in 3 star hotels with much better facilities

Ηταν όλα πολύ όμορφα και ήσυχα. Ιδανικός προορισμός για ζευγάρια και οικογένειες. Το προσωπικό ήταν ευγενικό και το δωμάτιο καθαρό και περιποιημένο. Η θάλασσα σε απόσταση αναπνοής από το δωμάτιο.Το πρωινό είχε ποικιλία και το μπαρ σέρβιρε καλό καφέ και κοκτέιλ Σίγουρα θα επιστρέψουμε!

Hôtel bien situé, face à la plage. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour d'une semaine. Le patron et le personnel étaient très serviable. Chambres propres, Katharina était formidable.

Hôtel familial aux petits soins pour ses clients. Le personnel est compétent, serviable et très professionnel. Chambres simples mais confortables. Un peu plus de variétés au petit déjeuner et ce serait parfait. Je recommande vivement.
