Cook's Club Ialyssos Rhodes

We have just had a 10 day stay at Cooks Club Ialysos, to give an accurate review I will try and break it down into sections. Hotel and facilities: The hotel itself is lovely and well maintained. We stayed in room 503 which had a private shared pool, we were glad to have this and I would highly recommend getting one of these rooms if you can. The gym is partially outside, we didn’t actually use it so can’t comment on the equipment. The main pool is nice and appears to have enough sun loungers/cabanas/bean bags. Food: Breakfast was pretty standard and quite repetitive. We ate lunch a couple of times but found the food quite expensive for what it was. Drinks are also expensive, a bottle of beer is around 7€ and wasn’t served particularly cold. A draft beer was served in a plastic wine glass and again wasn’t served cold. Atmosphere: We are 40 and 42, however we felt this hotel is marketed towards a younger crowd. The music around the pool was at times so loud you couldn’t even hold a conversation. For this reason we spent a lot of time by our own pool and we were happy to have this to escape to. The hotel feels it is lacking something, and at times feels soulless. The staff don’t appear particularly engaged or happy to be there and only a few smile or say hello. Location: The hotel is not in lalysos, it’s actually in Kremasti (this was confirmed to us by a taxi driver). Ialysos is a good 30 min walk away or 12€ in a taxi, it is worth a trip as there are some really nice restaurants. Nearer to the hotel there is not much at all, towards Kremasti Beach there are some nice restaurants worth going to but they only open in the evening. We also paid for sunbeds at Kremasti beach on a couple of days, I’ve seen a few comments saying the beach isn’t nice but if you walk along to Cantina Paradise it is lovely. We also got the shuttle bus to Rhodes old town 3 times from the hotel which was 4€ each each way and booked online, would highly recommend doing this. Overall we enjoyed our stay mainly due to having the shared private pool and also because we are happy to venture out. We personally wouldn’t return back to Cooks Club however Rhodes is a beautiful island which we will visit again.

We booked Room 406 with a private jacuzzi for a birthday trip after seeing glowing reviews, but our stay fell far short of expectations. I hope management takes this as constructive feedback, as several major areas need attention. Room & Privacy: Room 406 lacks basic privacy. Large gaps in the fencing surrounding the private jacuzzi mean neighboring rooms can see directly in. The bed is two doubles pushed together (very uncomfortable), natural light is minimal, and paper-thin soundproofing meant street noise woke us at 7:00 AM daily. Housekeeping: Housekeeping walked into our room early in the morning without adequate notice, including on checkout day while we were packing. Towels weren't consistently changed, and tea, coffee, and water were rarely replenished. Dining & Safety: This was the biggest failure. During our first meal at the hotel restaurant, I was served raw chicken—a severe food safety issue that staff largely ignored. On a second visit, a staff member aggressively confronted us for walking in while waiting to be seated, and dinner took nearly an hour to arrive in a nearly empty room. The food is generic, overpriced, and lacks authentic Greek options. To top it off, paying meant navigating a forced, uncomfortable tipping prompt starting at €7. Service & Hospitality: From a cold late-night check-in with zero luggage help to unhelpful management regarding noise complaints, we rarely felt welcomed. Staff at breakfast barely acknowledged us, and asking for ice for water at the bar was met with bizarre looks. Breakfast & Facilities: Breakfast options were poor and repetitive for a 7-night stay. Fruit wasn't fresh, selection was minimal, and the pancake machine sat under a cloth cover for 6 out of 7 days. Daytime pool music was either nonexistent or overly loud, evening entertainment felt outdated, and paid yoga classes were scheduled too early (8:00 AM). Location: Remote and isolated. The nearest beach is unimpressive, the local town is a 30-minute walk, and Rhodes Town requires a €25 taxi ride or a packed 40-minute bus trip. The hotel concept has potential, but poor hospitality, lack of privacy, and unacceptable food safety ruined what should have been a relaxing celebration. We left feeling unvalued as guests and cannot recommend this property in its current state

We are currently at the airport travelling home from a week at this lovely place! We went for the shared pool swim-up room (shared between 3 rooms) and we were so glad we did! Super chilled and could totally relax on our private loungers. It really made our holiday extra special. Only downside was on our last few days a group of men had booked one (or both) of the other rooms and kind of ruined our relaxing time, it’s much better if the other rooms are couples/small groups only. However, this didn’t ruin our experience as they only used the pool for small periods of time. The hotel is immaculately clean. Our room (503) was enormous and so luxurious to stay in! I will miss the king-size bed! The breakfast options were lovely - I particularly liked the pancake machine but that is only on every couple of days, not every day. Lots of options. Maybe a little repetitive towards the end of our stay but tasty nonetheless! The Rosemary restaurant down the road is so lovely - recommend! Staff were excellent, so kind and accommodating. We asked to extend our room on the last day until 3pm (€35 for 3pm, €55 for 6pm) our room wasn’t available until 3pm but they gave us a checkout time of 2pm free of charge! It really helped our last day feel like a proper pool day. Would absolutely recommend the shuttle bus (book on the QR code at reception) latest pick up is 22:30 from Rhodes Old Town but that suited us fine. We also used the same bus for a trip to Lindos. Also recommend a boat trip to Symi Island, absolutely stunning! As a cat-lover, I loved the cats roaming around, and they appeared to be well fed. Reception also saw us making a fuss of the cats and gave us some Dreamies to feed them 😊 we were heartbroken to leave one cat in-particular (so much so we looked into adoption possibilities!) we have named her (or him) Cookie 🍪 if anyone sees this little one please look after her for us ❤️

We had a short stay here due to a cancelled flight. Mikaela was great and could not do enough for us, she was able to find us a room very quickly and was very helpful and friendly. Thanks so much Mikaela :)

From the moment we arrived, we had an amazing experience. The hotel was spotless throughout – every area was kept incredibly clean, and our room was immaculate every day. The food was fantastic, with a great variety to choose from, and you could tell everything was fresh. All the staff was friendly, professional, and always happy to help, which really added to the overall experience. We’d especially like to thank Michael and Andreas, who truly went above and beyond. They were incredibly welcoming, always took the time to chat with us, and made us feel valued as guests. Their kindness and genuine care made a real difference to our holiday. The hotel had such a lovely atmosphere, the entertainment was great, and everything was really well looked after. and it was clear that everyone takes great pride in providing excellent service. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so memorable. We left with amazing memories and will not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone. We can’t wait to return!
