We spent a long time researching this holiday as it was our first family trip in years, but our experience was very disappointing. Stayed with two young children on an easyJet Holidays package. Rooms & Accommodation Negative: Our room was not the suite we booked and we had to move four times before getting the correct room. Moving/packing/unpacking repeatedly with young children was exhausting and stressful for everyone, and the opposite of relaxing. During these room moves, several expected amenities were missing – minibar never filled and issues with getting pool towels despite multiple requests for both. Cleanliness was a bit of an issue, excessive mould, hairs everywhere from previous guests. One bathroom flooded with stagnant, foul-smelling water upon letting the bath plug out, general drain smell most of the time (presumably due to antiquated drainage systems in the area). Frustratingly, there is only one hook in the entire room, in the shower for towels. The airplay function only worked intermittently on one tv, and not at all on the 2nd tv. Positive: The hotel gave us late checkout on our last day as compensation, and also refunded the cost of an excursion on request by myself. The beds were comfy and new towels were provided every day. The balcony in our final suite was large, and had a bug screen on the balcony door which was a great touch. Lots of wardrobe storage in our suite. Entertainment Negative: Lacklustre entertainment most nights. And limited seating in the area it was hosted. The activities for kids weren't as good as what i've experienced at other hotels, and there isn't really a very animated entertainment team in this regard. Not really anything for older kids. Positive: there was something every evening, highlights were the rock band and the dancers which my kids enjoyed. Food & Drink Negative: The buffet had limited options for picky children and vegetarians. The ice cream shop often ran out of flavours and the soft serve was out of order throughout our stay. Restaurant staff were mostly unfriendly, and getting refills at meals was incredibly difficult. Bars across the hotel had confusing and inconsistent opening hours – the pool bar was open some nights but not others, table service to sun loungers was unpredictable, and the app allowed ordering when service was unavailable. Cocktails were premixed and largely undrinkable, other wines were boxed and not great. Positive: The buffet mostly had a good selection each day, with plenty of seafood, meat, fresh salads, and local cuisine. Draught beer and sparkling wine were good. Pools & Beach Negative: Despite advertised rules against reserving sunbeds with towels, daybeds were taken by 8-9am, though standard loungers were always available. Pool not heated (which I did know about), so water was very cold at this time of year. Empty glasses/rubbish could have been collected more regularly. Positive: The hotel has a private pebble beach with sun loungers and a lifeguard. Lots of people swimming in the sea though we didn't and chose to relax on the loungers! There are plentiful normal loungers and we could always get one of those. There are plenty of pools including shallow kid's pool. Location & Surroundings Positive: The hotel looks grand with attractive grounds, close to the airport (15 mins in a taxi), and we were not affected by the noise from planes flying over. There are two small shops and the Rainbow Bar nearby (not in the hotel itself) - we enjoyed the cocktails there and the staff were friendly. Other than this it's probably a 15-20 min walk to any other amenties. Enjoyable day trips to Lindos (and the Acropolis) and Rhodes Town. Reception staff at the hotel were friendly and professional, they seemed sympathetic and apologetic towards our room issues but for whatever reason this just didn't translate into an timely solution. Overall, while there were some positive aspects, our experience fell well short of what we expected for the price paid. I would not recommend this hotel for families with young children. As an aside, I do not recommend EasyJet whose customer service team are terrible (on top of an overnight 9 hour flight delay!).
Příjemný a velmi ochotný personál, krásné prostředí, fungující služby, vynikající snídaně, obědyi večeře, mnoho detailů které pobyt zpříjemňují, hezký pokoj, pohodlná postel. Dobře uklizeno každý den. Výborné drinky na baru, mnoho možností odpočinku u bazénu.
I visited this hotel with my 27 year old daughter, who had researched the hotel thoroughly via many social media sites & this is the crowd the hotel attracts. Most visitors to the hotel I would have said were under 30 . The hotel is a short drive from the airport & is well maintained. The rooms although on the small side were cleaned well & we did like the reusable water bottles in the room. The food was pretty good in the buffet, not the biggest choice but was always fresh. We ate in both the restaurants. The Greek tray club was by far the best the food was amazing, the Italian not so good, it ran out of some of the dishes and it seemed all food was reheated to order. The Italian for lunch was far better, all fresh pizzas, pasta & salads. The pool area was massive, loads of free beds, although the Balinese beds were all taken before 8am. Drinks could be ordered via an app to your bed, the alcoholic drinks were quite watered down, all the soft drinks were fine though. There was loud music most if the time DJs most afternoon catering for the younger crowd. The hotel is classed as a 5* hotel although it did fall short in regards to the usual 5* expectations on service, for example you had to serve yourself hot drinks at breakfast & no concierge, which was no hardship but not what you would expect. Would I visit with my 53 year old husband, probably not, but for the children & their friends I would highly recommend.
I went to this hotel in September to celebrate a couple of special birthdays and to be honest the hotel staff were wonderful. My husband surprised me with a ring from the hotel jewellery shop for my birthday which cost €230. I had been back a month when I noticed one of the stones had fallen out. I reported it straight away to the hotel as the jewelry shops’s phone number was unattainable, and both are refusing to repair replace or refund because I ‘wore it’!!!!!! How ridiculous. The hotel is trying to distance themselves from the jewellers but if you have them on your premises you need to take responsibility. Under EU consumer law (Directive 2019/771), all goods sold in the EU are covered by a two-year legal guarantee. If a fault appears within the first 12 months, it is presumed to have existed at the time of purchase, unless the seller can prove otherwise. . DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING AT THIS HOTEL it’s a con!!
We stayed at the Electra Palace for a week in September. The hotel is lovely but it definitely isn't a 5* hotel. The hotel is modern and looks lovely but there are a lot of factors that let it down. Around the pool area there are plenty of sunbeds and even when coming down later on in the morning we never had an issue finding beds. There is a QR code to order drinks to your sunbed however more often than not, these never arrived. There is a DJ around the pool, the volume was fine most of the time but occasionally it did feel a little overwhelming. The aqua aerobics music is far too loud. The location is great, right on the sea front. For a quicker walk into town, walk down to the seafront and turn right, this will lead you to many lovely bars and restaurants. San Alotte being our favourite! The rooms are decent and well equipped, however for a 5* I would expect the tea, coffee and mini fridge to be restocked but neither of them were. We didn't try either of the restaurants on site as we ate out most evenings. We had breakfast and lunch at the hotel and one evening meal, the buffet is okay but not very toddler friendly (pasta and chips were available) The restaurant shut at 9:30 and after that there is no availability for an evening snack anywhere in the hotel. The service wasn't great in the buffet, there were often times at lunch where there was no drink order taken so we were left to have lunch without one. Drinks are incredibly poor. Other than in the reception bar and the restaurant, these are served in damaged, cloudy, plastic cups which really isn't in keeping with the 5* rating. I understand plastic round the pool, but thay really should be where the plastic ends. There were also instances where cocktails were served in paper coffee cups and beer was served in plastic wine glasses. We made our way through most of the cocktail menu to try and find one that was palatable but none of them were which was a big disappointment. Soft drinks were also bad. Our saving grace was thr Rainbow Bar across the road, their drinks are amazing and so are the staff. The morning of check out we were offered the opportunity to book a private shower room later on in the day as our pick up wasn't until the evening. Two members of our party booked this, only to be sent downstairs to the women's changing facilities which were not private and full of multiple other women who had also booked the same time. We didnt book the late check out because the cost is extortionate for the sake of a few hours, especially when we didnt arrive until gone midnight on the first day and still paid for said room. We wouldn't stay here again unless the hotel was to lose a star and reflect that in the cost of the holiday as it was incredibly expensive for us to not receive a 5* service.
