
We have just returned home after a lovely stay ❤️ The hotel is spotlessly clean in all area's. We found the food quality in all restaurants to be of good quality and lovely presented. The staff in the alacarte restaurants are very knowledgeable of food and wine choices especially Dimetrias he is a credit to Fourni restaurant. We personally found the bar service to be chaotic the tables need to be numbered as the staff in the pool bar and the main evening bar are walking round with trays of drinks not knowing which table they are for you would order and not get a drink or you would get someone else's by saying that I did have Bombay gin good wine and limoncello spritz all week . Think it is all down to communication and all the new staff starting . Rather than put all negative reviews on here when you are home 🏡 speak to someone whilst at the hotel as I did,the Manager and the Assistant Manager are very approachable and will get your concerns sorted. All just go away and have a lovely holiday in the 🌞
No doubt this is a beautiful hotel the food and drink are good.staff are charming and helpful. It just wasn’t ready to open. On the night of our arrival the main buffet was closed to residents so a corporate function could be hosted. OUTRAGEOUS!!! We were offered to eat next door with all the kids. We had booked adults only to avoid the kids. Are the management bonkers ? Half the facilities were not available. No istriobar,no Kelari, no maharani, no 33.3 listening bar, no tennis pay for yoga pay to get in spa. We only managed two ala carte meals. One night our looking was messed up another restaurant shut. Technical difficulties ? Don’t really think we received value for money. Main bar had loud music every night. Great if you like that. If you want a quiet drink after dinner there’s nowhere to avoid the noise. If you are a clubber and go when they have sorted their act out should be brilliant. I will check hard before going to another Ella hotel.
Loved the hotel .. everything fantastic including the food. Staff were amazing (although we visited when lots of staff were new so waiting times were sometimes a bit long) Room was great - open plan junior sweet with sea view and pool access
Once in a lifetime trip. It was incredible. The staff the breakfast, the food I just cannot fault it. If you’re sat here reading my review, I’d say book the trip or if you’ve booked it have a great time.
This is not a 5 star resort, neither is it 1 star, possibly 4 -4.5 However,this is a smart resort, with an impressive entrance area and we would definitely return. In my experience it is often the individual staff members who make the difference between good and great places and make the difference with ‘service recovery’ I.e; how well do they react and respond when something goes wrong. Mostly excellent staff here, with the odd exception. *Main bar in the evening* If you don’t want to work with the public(who can, admittedly be very annoying at times) go work in an Office. If not, just put on the fake smile and offer great service, complain about them to your colleagues in the non customer areas. *Positives* The various pools situated around the resort make a huge difference,rather than everybody trying to cram around one large solitary pool and all the beds being reseeved very early in the day with towels laid out. We were in block 7000, with a pool just outside our room's back door.We had our own bean bag style sunbeds which made for a relaxing stay rather than joining in the 6:00am sunbed reservation challenge like so many other resorts. Memorable staff who deserve a special mention are.. * Rodini Bar* Dimitri main man James Roberto Man who's name sounded like ganja 😃 As we lay by the pool in the sun Roberto ( who looked like ex-Liverpool footballer Roberto Firmino) would often ask if we would like another drink which was excellent if we didn't want to get up and walk to the bar, slightly lazy but we were on holiday after all. *Excellent service Stand out person at breakfast was Rochelle who never once forgot our drinks orders and always seem to be able to provide teas/coffees more quickly than some other staff. Reception staff were all very polite and professional for ordering taxis,etc The hygiene at this place was also first class with constant wiping of tables, daily mopping of stairwells and nightly jetwashing of the pool area, it's almost as if they have continued with some of the cleaning routines that were imposed during Covid. Masari was an excellent Restaurant with good wine on offer. A few pointers to get to a 5 star *Restaurant best practice should be to inform customers. in advance if items are off the menu instead of allowing them to place an order only to be told 5/10 min later that their ordered item was unavailable, then look through the menu all over again. *Not Rochelle,who was always excellent, but on a number of occasions tea/coffee orders were placed at breakfast,never to appear! *Despite offers of Moet & Chandon champion on our Elevated Bliss package, we were offered Rosé at €37per glass. To avoid disappointment, Don’t offer items if they are not available. *Fourni & Kavos both appeared to have limited food menus on offer and no apparent wine list, even a simple list of two or three wines would have sufficed e.g one red,one rose, one white *It might be an idea to offer an optional quick tour for guests on arrival or a simple briefing to go through the map. While this may not be necessary for everyone,we spoke to some couples who seemed slightly disorientated and asked us for directions to restaurants,the beach,etc *Main bar staff did not seem to be in a particular rush in the evenings when people are coming for a pre dinner drink, sometimes staff were stood at the back arms folded,when we were queuing for a drink. This was by far our worst complaint of the holiday! The App was not working when we arrived so we booked meals through guest services and large A3 pieces of paper. The use of an App would have been far easier Definitely considering a return visit in 2027!
