Potokaki Beachfront

We loved our stay at Potokaki Beachfront Hotel, we stayed in the studio with sea view for 11 nights, it was perfect for us, plenty of space and beautiful views, you step off the terrace onto a private beach. The breakfast which is included, had plenty of choice and was delicious, it never ran out, no matter what time you went down for breakfast. The hotel was spotlessly clean and our towels and bedding were changed regularly .. it’s really close to the airport 15 euros taxi fare and the town Pythagoreio is a 30 minute walk away or 9 euros in a taxi. Pythagoreio is a pretty port with lots of lovely restaurants and bars to choose from. All of the staff were really lovely but a big shout out to Alexandra, Judith and Kiki, they were so lovely and helpful to us, nothing was too much trouble .. thank you.

Stayed in the old part of the hotel and had the smallest most uncomfortable bed. Was a toddler bed. Reported 3 times I had no hot water for showers. Nothing done about it just questioned what time I was showering. But then there was one of the receptionist, Sandra, who was rude. We were told we could use the outdoor area to do evening drinks and nibbles. She hid cups from us, took photos (without our permission) & even locked us out one evening. Would not stay again.

A Perfect Vacation! After discovering Potakaki Beachfront Hotel for the first time last year, it didn’t take me long to book another stay this year and once again, it exceeded my expectations. The staff are absolutely wonderful: warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything you need. One of the highlights is how close the sea is just about 15 steps from my room and I'm in the water enjoying a refreshing swim. The views are breathtaking, and the charming town of Pythagorio is only a five-minute drive away. If you feel like walking, that’s definitely doable too, or the reception can easily arrange a taxi for you. Despite being near the airport, there’s no disturbance at all. All in all, this place is a true gem and I’ll absolutely be coming back again!

Nice location, quiet and indeed in front of the beach. The beach is rocky but ok. The center of Pithagorio is in a few minutes drive. The personnel is polite and the cleaning lady very nice. The negative part: no elevator, two stairs with high steps for the 2nd floor. Our room was the deluxe one with sea view and the first impression was of an elegant brand-new room. The first issue we had to solve was that the free space was not enough to leave our two suitcases open which would not be needed if there was a wardrobe to put our clothes in. At an open-air rail there were only six elegant hangers (not enough for a couple) and we could use the desk as a shelf for our clothes. The totally unbearable issue was that the room had ants !!!! and they were going up the desk. So no clothes there and definitely nowhere to place some crackers. The wash basin was inside the bedroom which looked cool in the beginning. Soon we realized we had to be careful and empty the space beneath the wash basin from shoes or backpacks because they would be easily wet. The space was already limited. The breakfast was basic, the yogurt was nice, the coffee terrible. Some of these issues can be easily fixed. I hope they do it.

The nicest staff!! Hotel is basic in terms of rooms, clean, on the beach, short cab ride to the port, and breakfast is good. Totally worth the money. Beach is rocky so bring your beach shoes. A great way to economize when visiting Samos in a clean, friendly hotel.
