New Beach Hotel

We chose this hotel through a Jet2 package for our wedding party as there were a few of us. We arrived 1 week before our wedding with some family members. We were about 20 minutes’ drive from the airport and greeted well when we arrived. The blonde receptionist helped pull some of our cases into the bar area of the hotel. We were offered a seat and a welcome drink of our choice free of charge. This was a lovely surprise, and we were very happy with this welcome. We had confirmed our rooms were Seaview junior suites. They took our passports and some other details for check in. We were then shown around the complex and given information about the hotel including breakfast area and opening times etc. We were also informed we could use the neighbouring hotel pools and restaurant for breakfast which was included in our package. Our bags were all taken up to our rooms by the young gentleman on the bar. We were then brought a fresh plate of fruit and a bottle of fizz to start our holiday. This again was a lovely way of check in and one of the best we have had on our many adventures. We have stayed at multiple 4 star hotels where you do not get this level of service. Our room was a good size for the 2 of us and a good view from the balcony. Our bathroom was fine but we had some issues with the toilet flush which took tie to be rectified. There was a safe in the wardrobe which was had to reach and was facing a difficult way which made it hard to get in and out of, but it served its purpose. We had read previous reviews regarding the noise in the evening up to midnight from the bar. The first coupe of nights we found this an issue, but with the aircon on overnight, we soon got used to the sound and it did not affect us as much as we thought it would. Another member of our wedding party arrived a couple of days later, they had a room right outside the bar, we asked for them to be moved but was not possible on that day. However, the next day they were allowed to move into another room further away from the bar. Our room was cleaned daily but wasn’t cleaned that well, we mostly had to ask for toilet paper every couple of days as for some reason this was not refilled during our 2 weeks stay. Breakfast was better than we thought as we had read mixed reviews again. We ordered a hot or iced latte most mornings and it was made just at the bar near the entrance. Good selection of foods on the counter or you can order fresh each morning from their select menu. There was enough variety for us and some of the children in our wedding party. Different types of juices were on the side too. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the 2 different receptionists/managers, they would kindly book our taxi’s which we booked in advance for multiple wedding meetings and for our wedding party too. 9/10 the taxis would be on time and would come inside into the bar to meet with us. Only 1 taxi was late and had a small rush for our last wedding meeting, but this was no fault of the New Beach staff. We do not recommend the 10 sunbeds they have on the beach at the bottom of the road, but we spent most of our time at the Makai beach bar around the corner where the sea and beach were beautiful. 2 sunbeds and a parasol 25 euros all day and these sunbeds are worth the money. Apart from the couple of small issues mentioned above, we would recommend for the price you pay for this hotel and its good location. We will be back again in the future when we come back to Zante!

We arrived in the afternoon on the 3rd of October, and the welcome was excellent. A lady called Anthem, might not be spelt correct checked us in. 10 out of 10. Very friendly and very welcoming. We was told we could have a free drink which was a strawberry daiquiri which was lovely after our flight. We was told we had a upgraded room which had a Seaview. It was lovely. Very happy with it. Also a free bottle of wine brought to the room and sliced fruit. Room 214. Free tea and coffee in the room on the first day it wasn't replaced but got a free water everyday. Kettle and fridge in room. The fridge kept drinks lovely and cold. Air con was free worked well, free wifi and free safe.The safe was very awkward to use as at the very bottom of the wardrobe facing sideways which was very awkward. You had to kneel on the floor and put your head right in the wardrobe to see what your doing. Not ideal for people that cant get down very well. Pool towels changed when you wanted. On our first morning went for breakfast you order from a menu and theres some bits you can help yourself to. It was very windy and cold that first morning was a bit uncomfortable sat there. It did take a while to arrive. Then as the week went it wasn't windy but I complained to jet2 about the breakfast as cats jumped up and started to eat the bread. Also the spoons were left out the jars which attracted lots of wasps.Not ideal. So jet2 rang reception to inform them. The next morning the spoons were in jars but then the food near the chef was uncovered so had lots of flies on it, so jet2 rang me again so informed them of that then the next day they were covered up but bread uncovered again. The breakfast area needs to be covered in so the cats abd wasps aren't all of the food.The staff at the reception was so helpful glad id informed them so they could improve. They offered me a couple of nights free meals and drinks in a hotel near ours. I excepted. Nice gesture. The staff I think are amazing and so helpful. The lady at breakfast called linda was lovely and smiley. We did use the hotel pool area in the all-inclusive hotel next door most of the holiday as it was bigger and not on grass. Overall I loved the hotel just a couple of issues with breakfast and also you can hear the pub next door till at least 12ish. I put my fan heater on to dround the noise out. It isnt the hotels fault. The pub is loud. I would definitely stay again. Its close to the beach and at the end of the strip but still enough near the hotel. There was also a lovely lady working on a evening which took us for our meal she was lovely aswell. The staff are a credit to the hotel. We would definitely stay here again. Hopefully the breakfast issues and maybe the pub noise might improve by then.

I struggle to believe that Jet2holidays accept this as 4 star. Anyone thinking this is four star has never been to a 4 star hotel. The delux junior suite was the size of a regular room. It was supposed to sleep 4 people but was barely big enough for two. The gap between the bed and shelf unit was barely big enough to get through without turning sideways. Cases turned sideways scraped the bed. A lot of the fittings in the rooms are tired. Breakfast was the most limited I have ever experienced. You could not get a drink warmer than tepid as they are prepared elsewhere and brought. There were dozens of wasps flying around tables and the food left open or uncovered. There were birds feeding on the bread and cake left uncovered which was most of it. If you asked for something not on a very limited menu it was fround upon and usually arrived incorrect. The service staff totally lacked social skills and though they were curtious there was no extra interaction including eye contact at times. OʻWe had to ask to be moved from our first room allocation as it was dirty, the shower did not work properly and the fitting was hanging off the ceiling. There were sunbeds which were used regularly placed about 10 feet from our patio doors so it was like being in a bird cage and we had to have the curtains closed the whole time. There were no nets to give privacy. The green around the edge of the pool continues to be a problem. Never saw the pool being cleaned. There were no cushions on the sunbeds either around the pool or down on the allocated beach area. The sunbeds on the beach looked like the castoffs from the hotel and the allocated space was tiny. On the whole the holiday was cheap, so I accept it not being as nice a place to stay but you are not getting the bargain you thought you were booking and it is certainly not 4 star.

We had a faulty toilet problem in 1607 got handyman out as good as a man short (twice) and still not fixed ,all staff are pleasant EXCEPT 1 ( A RIGHT UP HERSELF RECEPTIONIST) shes does the back shift had words to no avail asked to see manager still waiting anyway hotel room was cleaned daily ,breakfast buffet style , hot food can be ordered limited to what you can get my opinion on b,fast 6/10. The pool needs a good clean again handyman only picks things out the pool not once was it cleaned green slime all the way round top edges .its close to a pub with entertainment at night very noisy every night @ your directly under the incoming flight path for the airport ,again alot of noise honest opinion we will not come back here

Well I was going to give a negative review about this hotel as it didn't quite match the picture on jet2 website. On our arrival we were to say the least disappointed not what we were expecting but after a day or so we actually enjoyed it. Positives, great location, on arrival free bottle of Rose and fresh fruit, bed comfortable, shower great, fridge in your room bottle of water supplied every day ,breakfast was ok continental breakfast but you could order off the menu. Fresh pool or beach towels when ever you want staff extremely helpful and friendly . Negatives I would not give this hotel 4 star its tired and decking needs replacing and pool not great nothing like the picture advertised also 50 euros to pay on arrival because they say its 4 star .Grass needed cutting, scruffy area at the front of hotel as you walk out to the beach .The free hotel sunbeds down the beach were tatty would not use them .
