Sea View Village

Had a wonderfully relaxing week here, it really is a gem of a find for those wanting simplicity done really well. Clean room with a comfy bed and lovely little balcony overlooking the sea. The pool area had plenty of choice of sunbeds (could be the time of year though, we went in September). One of the real highlights is the quality of the food, a good choice of traditional Greek dishes every evening and the wait staff are genuinely warm and friendly. I was a little concerned about the hotel being on a fairly steep road from the beach but many people did walk - we took advantage of the hotel’s shuttle bus driven by lovely Anastasia. Happy hour between 3-5pm became a regular treat for me, enjoying a cocktail (or two!) by the pool became a daily highlight! Thank you Maria for such a warm welcome and for caring about our experience whilst staying with you. Highly recommend.

We had a great stay and enjoyed the friendliness of the whole staff and the well maintained hotel complex. Our room was very spacious with a big terrace with sea view. We would have preferred a studio on a higher floor with an even more spectacular sea view but maybe next time. The beds are excellent plus an insect screen door ensure a good sleep. The only unpleasant thing was the intense bad smell in the bathroom, probably a drainage problem? The walk down to the beach was pleasant and the way back a bit steep but if you’re in an average shape it’s no problem. There’s also a shuttle bus but we didn’t want to depend on the fixed schedules. We enjoyed the rich buffet for breakfast and the always lovingly prepared meals for dinner which is a la carte. So thanks to the lovely staff that made us feel so welcomed!

Arrived 29th Aug till 9th Sept. Lovely warm welcome by Maria and her hospitality was continuous throughout our stay. Room 302 was lovely overlooked the pool but also beautiful sea view. Peaceful resort always available sunbeds and sunbed towels replaced through the day. Ate in the restaurant a few times and enjoyed breakfast especially the home made products and the fig jam. Lots of fresh figs on nearby trees. Hired a care for 5 days and visited 5 different beaches plus Zante town. Thank you to the lovely Anastasia for taking us and picking us up from the local beach. Would love to come back one day. Really had a truly amazing holiday.

Thankfully we have one further day left to enjoy everything that the team at this hotel provides to make this a really wonderful holiday experience. It can’t be faulted. The warmness of the staff is exceptional as are the facilities. The rooms are large, comfortable and the pool and bar are superb. It’s a 10/10 from the Francis Family. Thank you Maria and everyone. This is JUST what we needed.

I just had to share about our amazing week on Zakynthos. We booked last minute hoping for some sunshine and found a lovely family-run hotel in the hills of Vasilikos. After reading the reviews, it ticked all the boxes for a quiet and traditional stay. The hotel is set in beautiful hills with a large mountain behind it, a few miles from Argassi, which is perfect if you want something peaceful, away from busier resorts. The views of the sea are lovely.  It’s definitely a hilly area, so hiring a car is a good idea. There are about 40 rooms, and despite it being the start of the summer holidays, the hotel never felt crowded. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable. The pool was fantastic, perfect for spending the day at or jumping into when we got back from exploring Nearby, there are four tavernas and a small shop. Even though some online reviews weren’t great, we had only positive experiences and enjoyed the food and friendly service, I’ll be reviewing them also. What really made our stay so special were the people.  Marie greeted us warmly, and the maître d’ and the restaurant team , provided a wonderful service, Mark the barman was always friendly, and Georgina at the pool bar was exceptional, mixing great cocktails and offering fantastic advice for local tips, all while putting up with my silly jokes. Also, the handyman deserves a shoutout for teaching me a bit of Greek each morning! This trip really showed me that the people make the place. Marie, if you see this, keep doing what you’re doing you have a brilliant team there. Maybe think about adding air conditioning to the pool bar though, it got very warm in the evenings and melted my daiquiri too fast! My only other advice for anyone visiting, I’d recommend skipping the rosé. We’re already looking forward to coming back!
