Bliss Mahé Seychelles

On my 5th stay in the Seychelles I decided to try a small hotel in the northern part of the island of Mahé. Hotel with friendly staff, beautiful garden, nice little beach and good restaurants. Excellent value for money and quite cheap for a 4-star hotel. Comfortable rooms, more too rustic bathhouses. Lots of steps between the social areas and the rooms, problematic for people with mobility issues. J.A.Sousa

The proximity to the water was amazing! Our terrace was situated above the water at high tide and the sound of the waves crashing was soothing. We snorkeled along the rocks/reef along the south end of the cove in front or the hotel. We had half board and the breakfasts and dinners were served buffet-style with lots of options for the theme of the day. The restaurant/kitchen/housekeeping staff were friendly. We had issues with the AC in our room either not working or leaking on us or our bed overnight, so the quality of sleep was not good. Hopefully the issue was addressed before the next guests arrived. The rooms are pretty basic/rustic and the bathrooms aren't exceptionally clean. I think it would be difficult to keep them spotless as they are open air with woven blinds. The front desk staff was okay, but not overly welcoming. And it was strange to have to sign for basic amenities like beach towels, hairdryer, adaptor plug, bottle opener and a little shell on a string to use as a do not disturb sigh. At checkout, these are marked off and questioned if not brought to the desk (our shell was still on the door as our stuff was still in there). Not sure if the property has had issues with things being stolen, but that created a weird vibe.

The stay at Bliss hotel in Seychelles was a true pleasure. We were part of a beginner free diving heterogenic group. This boutique hotel was built with love and compassion. Its rooms are built on the hill and our room 34 was one of the highest at the far edge from the beach overlooking the sea. The style is very natural and comfortable adorned with shells and local wood which is very original. The room was super comfortable and spacious, genuinely accommodating with lovely balcony sitting area and comfortable shower . The pool of the hotel is clear deep and exceptional , nestled in fauna and very relaxing The relaxtion beds above and near the beach are a great idea especially the double bed near the rocks at the beach on a separate porch, this one is so exceptional and is meant for royals or very special occasion . The restaurant (like barefoot)was delicious and accommodating , the staff was friendly, food was rich and interesting. Enabled a taste of the local food and fruits Loved the omelettes, the smile of David the Chef who works hard on the grill with great meats and flavours. The beautiful beach that is at the foot of the hotel enables swimming if there are no waves and also watching the corals or is simply pretty to gaze & relax I was particularly impressed and enjoyed the exceptional friendly and professional attitude of Claudia , the front desk and reservation manager who was also our free diving guide alongside our group guide... What an exceptional combination. Claudia is simply wonderful , very friendly, personal and attentive. Thank you , you made a real difference 🌷 To summarize a truly great experience Thank you!

In my opinion, the location of the hotel was just fine. The hotel facilities are overall of a good standard. The pool is excellent, the atmosphere is quiet and relaxed. The room I had was just fine. It was cleaned and tidied up every day. It is strange that there was no sink in the shower. You should note that the hot and cold water in the tap is reversed. Other than that, the room is of a good standard. The restaurant, excellent food. Every day a different style and very tasty. Check in was quick and courteous, and we received an explanation of the hotel from the amazing Claudia, the manager of the hotel. The beach next to the hotel is great. You just must pay attention to where you enter the water because there are places with rocks. The spa facilities are excellent and not very expensive. The staff was very courteous, nice, and welcoming. Hope to stay there in the future.

Dear Bliss Hotel Management, I am writing to formally express my disappointment with our recent stay at your hotel in May 2025. Unfortunately, the experience did not meet our expectations in several significant ways. Firstly, the room we were given was in my subjective perception outdated and did not match the images presented on your website. After having a look around your facilities, it seems like we were given the one of the two rooms in the “cellar” directly on the streets with a view to the breakfast/Dinner location, which does not allow us to leave the curtains open… In my opinion the Price performance does not match with the circumstances given. The difference between the advertised experience and the reality was stark and for me extremely disappointing. For a rate of €280 per night (!!!) which was one of the most expensive rooms at our stay, we expected more — the price is, quite frankly, outrageous for the quality provided. It is important to mention that we previously stayed at your sister property, Bliss Hotel Praslin, and are therefore aware that your rooms are individually designed. However, the difference in quality, amenities, and overall comfort between the two locations is immense. While we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Praslin, the Mahé property fell far short in comparison and did not deliver the same standard or welcoming atmosphere. Additionally, the air conditioning unit was loud and disruptive, and the room had a very unpleasant smell, as if someone had smoked inside and the odor was merely masked with a strong air freshener. This causes headache and made our stay uncomfortable from the beginning. On top of that, the towels provided in the room had a musty, moldy odor, which gave the impression that they had not been properly cleaned or stored. Moreover, the Wi-Fi in the room did not work at all, despite being advertised as available! I was dependent on a stable connection for work purposes, and it was more than frustrating that the connection was unstable at all times — in fact, it was completely unusable. This is simply unacceptable. We also spoke with our neighboring guests, who shared our frustration and were equally disappointed by this issue. Even after a few complaints at the reception the connection problem could not be solved. Another point worth mentioning is the situation at the beach. There are far too few cabanas available, and every single one of them was already “reserved” with flip-flops and towels well before breakfast… This kind of behavior should not be tolerated by the hotel, as it disadvantages other guests and creates unnecessary frustration.
