Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore

Beautiful hotel with delicious food and great service. Pool is amazing and it was the perfect place for a night between long haul flights. Irfan was extremely helpful as were the reservations team and the overnight staff with our last minute booking.

I needed somewhere to hole up for the day near the airport. I was able to book a day room here which was perfect. The pool was beautiful and an ideal way to relax before a long flight. Thoroughly recommend.

I've passed by the vicinity in my previous trips to Singapore (been in Singapore 8 times before) and this is the first time to stay in Laguna Dusit Thani. Let's discuss first the good things. The room is spacious (36 square meters), food is great and staff (reception, bell service, concierge, restaurant) are courteous and helpful. They have one restaurant called Greenhouse and at the other end is the Legends Bar. There's another bar, the Tee Deck. It is beside the swimming pool. The manager at the bar is friendly and she recognizes regular guests even in other areas of the hotel. The swimming pool is long and the depth is safe for average height Asians. The hotel is adjacent to the Laguna Golf & Country Club. There's also a putting green near the pool, outside the gym. The only down side of this hotel is the location, although it is near the airport. The nearest MRT station is the Expo, DT35. They have a shuttle service between the hotel and Changi City Point(Expo), MBS and Jewel Changi, but there's only one van shuttling to these points, hence, long intervals. But there's the future MRT station DT36 along Xilin Avenue under construction, expected to be completed this year. Hopefully, if the this station becomes operational and the construction of the road sidewalk infront of the hotel to Xilin is completed, it will be just around 12-minute walk from the hotel to MRT. Overall, our stay was good, almost excellent, actually.👍

My wife and I stayed in the Prestige Verandah Suite as a mini-getaway to celebrate her birthday. From the outset, our pre-check-in experience was excellent, with the Reception, Concierge and Spa teams going out of their way to help make this surprise getaway a memorable one for my wife. We were therefore looking forward to a similarly enjoyable dining experience during our stay. We made a reservation at Greenhouse for my wife’s birthday dinner on 30 September at 7.00pm and were attended to by a lady named “Thao”. After informing her of our choice of dishes, we requested a simple substitution to one of the dishes - replacing the jumbo prawns listed as an ingredient with squid, as we have a shrimp allergy and squid was also available on the menu. Unfortunately, the response we received was rather surprising and, in our view, inappropriate for a restaurant within a five-star hotel. Thao responded with “HUH?” before saying, “CANNOT. CANNOT SWAP ANYTHING ONE. IF U WANT NO PRAWNS CAN - BUT BEEF OR SQUID CANNOT. VERY EXPENSIVE. IF YOU WANT CHICKEN OR MUSHROOMS CAN, CAUSE CHEAP.” We were quite taken aback by both the tone and the manner in which this was communicated. Firstly, the initial exclamation was unnecessarily abrupt. More importantly, given that this was an allergy-related request, we would have expected the matter to be handled with a little more care and professionalism. Rather than discussing the relative cost of the ingredients with us, we felt that the more appropriate approach would have been to perhaps check with the chef or restaurant manager on what could be accommodated. We have stayed and dined at numerous five-star hotels, and this was the first time we had encountered such a reaction to what we felt was a fairly straightforward request to substitute an ingredient due to an allergy. It was particularly disappointing given that squid was already an ingredient available on the restaurant’s menu. At that point, we requested to speak with the restaurant manager, and this was where “Katy” truly turned the evening around. Katy came over, listened to our explanation, immediately understood the situation and apologised for the experience we had received. She handled the matter professionally and, importantly, demonstrated genuine service recovery. The prawns were substituted with squid without any further issue or discussion. We did not ask for, nor were we looking for, anything complimentary. All we wanted was the genuine Thai hospitality and warmth that one would reasonably expect from a five-star hospitality brand such as Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore - and thankfully, Katy exemplified exactly that. Throughout the remainder of the evening, Katy consistently checked in on us and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy my wife’s birthday dinner. Her attentiveness and sincerity were greatly appreciated, particularly after what had been a rather disappointing start to the evening. Katy, thank you once again for your genuine hospitality and for turning the experience around for us. While there is certainly room for improvement in the restaurant’s service standards, having someone like you leading the team gives us confidence that there is a strong foundation for improvement. We would also like to extend our thanks to the chef on duty. Despite the unfortunate start, we thoroughly enjoyed the food and thought every dish we ordered was excellent. The Moo Ping, Tom Yum Goong, Barramundi and Char Kway Teow were all absolutely on point - we polished off every dish! Overall, our stay itself was very enjoyable, and the Reception, Concierge and restaurant management teams demonstrated the level of hospitality we had hoped for. We hope the feedback regarding our initial dining experience will be taken constructively, as we believe a little more care in handling guest requests - particularly those involving allergies - would make a significant difference to the overall guest experience.
