Hotel is great. Niza at the pool is extremely friendly, efficient and helpful. Breakfast is yummy. Highly recommend to stay here.

Ok, so first up the positives: Beds are comfy Aircon works well Reception area is stunning Rooms with views of the reservoir are beautiful. Location is handy for Mandai On to the not so positives: For a new build property the lack of sound proofing is shocking. I could hear every footstep and word spoken in the hallway, the room next door and footsteps and music from the room above. The crowds at breakfast were intense. There were often queues of 20 + people waiting to be let in and carrying a hot drink back to my table felt like a high risk activity due to the crowds in the buffet area. Staffing. The inability of front desk and concierge to answer simple questions or perform basic tasks such as sell me a zoo ticket. It took 3 visits to the concierge desk to get an emailed copy of the zoo pass we purchased from them. Multiple staff were needed to figure this out. When I asked the front desk about timing and location of different shuttle buses he just told me to follow the signs. Lastly my child cut her foot quite badly so I approached concierge to ask if they had antiseptic wipes/a larger bandage (i only had bandaids). Upon opening up the first aid kit there was a half empty box of bandaids, some pressure wraps for sprains and some eye shields. For a large property that caters to families it was pretty shocking to see the lack of first aid care available. Its also important to note that there is no pharmacy in the bigger mandai complex but the 7/11 does stock some basic supplies. I emailed the property about this and the manager did respond promptly noting the first aid kit will be looked into. We thought this property would make visiting the zoo easier but honestly it just added stress to our stay. Next time I would just travel in each day and not stay on sight.

For SDG 600-1000 per night, avoid this hotel at all costs. Stayed at Room 4223, Thin walls and no soundproofing at all - I could hear everything that the guests in 4222 said and when people walked pass/baby crying from other room. The bathroom amenities are not what I expected from Banyan tree - no brand, no fragrance, feeling like a budget hotel shampoo/shower gel/lotion. Services - no one picked up the phone when I tried to call the various lines such as guest service/ in-room dining/ house-keeping, at 7-9pm (not even the peak hour…) Definitely won’t come here again - save your money, take a cab ride and stay at Mandarin Oriental for a similar cost
