Hotel Park

The Park Hotel is a very large luxury hotel right in the centre of Bled, with half the rooms with lake view. We stayed two nights in a room with lake view. Although we dislike such large hotels and normally avoid them, we very much appreciated our stay. The reception experience was not positive, as we followed the recommendation to use the kiosk for check-in. When we had gone through the whole process including face recognition for both of us, the end result was an error message and the request to (queue) for the reception desk. The room and bathroom are up to standard. The terrace with lake view as well. Breakfast is surprisingly good given the number of people that need to be served. Juices, although industrial, were acceptable. The buffet is very diverse, including many hot options. Eggs are prepared à la minute. Bread of good quality. The highlight of the hotel is the swimming pool on the top floor. It is large, has a sun terrace one floor down. We did not try the dinner buffet at the restaurant as there are so many options for dinner around, but had a good impression looking at the menu of the day. Might be an option for a rainy day. A warning: the amenities in the bathroom are the strict minimum. This is part of a policy to avoid waste. Be prepared and bring your own. In general, we found the atmosphere created by the choice of materials, colors and lighting, a refreshing experience. Totally different to the horrible designs of US or Spanish hotel chains.

Front desk clerk Heberle Matjaz is as rude and unprofessional as they come. Everyone, and I mean all staff members were very friendly and accommodating. However, this incompetent dolt should be fired. I tried reasoning with him but he decided to inserted himself into a private matter that was of no concern of his. He knows what he did and how I felt about it at the time.

Got a Lake View room and what a view to wake up to! Beautiful sunsets on an evening too. Room is basic but comfortable. What made this hotel was the super friendly staff who organised E-Bikes for us and nothing was too much trouble. Enjoyed using the pool. Breakfast was really good too but would have liked some proper yoghurt - not just pouring yoghurt out of a plastic bottle. The Bled cream cake in the lobby bar is the best thing I’ve ever eaten! Only disappointment was the sauna is extra €16 per person and you have to be naked….im British…we don’t do public nudity, so decided not to use. The gym was poor as well really. Would have liked a better selection of weights and maybe a bike or rowing machine.

Spent a week at the Park Hotel last week in September. Weather was glorious. Room was clean and comfortable and a good size. We paid a bit extra for a lake view and as others have said it's a bit of a lottery whether you get a view or not. Ours was obscured by a large Horse Chestnut tree. Not a big problem as we were out most of the day but does seem a bit unfair paying the same supplement as others who get a great view of the castle etc. Noise was not a problem. The hotel was busy with tour parties coming and going. As a result mealtimes could be chaotic. However the food was generally good, with adequate choices. Being a buffet means you can try a bit of everything and have as much or little as you want. The robot waiters are fun. We didn't have any issues and not a lot of dealing with hotel staff but they all seemed very pleasant. The swimming pool is fantastic and was quite quiet when we used it late afternoon. All in all a nice hotel in a good location for exploring Bled and surrounding area.

Had a wonderful time staying at the Hotel Park in Lake Bled. Booked with Inghams and fly with TUI from Manchester to Salzburg in Austria. After an hour going through Security at Salzburg Airport and collecting our luggage, we boarded a coach for the 3 hour drive to Lake Bled, due to an accident further down the motorway the driver made a detour up through some of the alps. The journey eventually took 4 hours as we dropped off some guests on the way at another resort 1st. When we arrived at the Hotel, we where met by our Holiday Rep who was excellent and check-in was east as the staff spoke very good English. Our room was on the 4th floor which was very clean and comfortable with a balcony and Lake View. We could see the Lake, the castle and St. Michaels Church. There was some trees blocking our view of the church on the island, but that did not spoil our holiday. Evening meal was at 7pm and it was a buffet meal so we could pick and choose what we ate. The selection was very good and the food was very good. All the staff where very pleasant and spoke very good English. It is 8 years since we last stayed in Bled, so prices had risen in that time, and few things have changed for the better. We did have an excellent relaxing holiday which is what we wanted, we walked around the lake each day, in the morning when it was not as hot (around 30+ Deg C). We took the boat over to the Island on the Monday, and on the Friday we took the Arriva bus to Lake Bohinj Most of our purchases we by Cash (Euros), apart from the bus ride where we had to pay by card (only a 20p surcharge by our bank). Handy to keep some change as the public toilets charge 1Euro coin each. The only noise we had was from the stalls on the side of the lake near our hotel, which went quiet by 10pm, apart from the Friday night which went on until around 10:30pm which was much louder, that was the only spoiler for our holiday as we had an early departure at 5am. The hotel provided us with a breakfast package. The tourist tax was a bit expensive, but we found Bled itself to be very clean, tidy and well presented, and not a pothole insight, or broken footpath.
