First timers in Slovenia. We were part of a Titan travel group tour, there were included and paid for excursions. We only booked the included excursions and after the first day I decided not to do any of them (though husband did) as the local area was relaxing and relatively peaceful. We were on a BB&D basis. Some people were slightly critical of the food, we found enough variety to satisfy us, not sure we'd feel the same if we were there for longer than a week. For once a cook understood me perfectly when I asked for a small cheese omelette for breakfast, I find large omelettes that there's no chance of me finishing quite off putting. Many's the time at various hotels I've asked for a small omelette only to be served with what I regard as the opposite. I contacted the hotel beforehand requesting a walk in shower, a request which was accommodated. The water temperature of the shower was great, instant - no waiting for the water to warm up. I also liked the fact the shower/hand gel was paraben free. The robot waiters were good, in my view they freed waiting staff up to do other work rather than having to carry plates etc through to the kitchen. Our room overlooked the main road rather than the lake, but that didn't deter from our enjoyment of the holiday. The bedroom safe was easy to use and looked quite new. I didn't use the gym, husband did. He said it was good for a hotel gym. The jewel in the crown for this hotel in my view has to be the swimming pool. I've never seen such an attractive pool, with views of the lake and castle, and it's so clean. I used the pool every day apart from arrival (managed a quick swim on departure day). It's probably one of the reasons I was happy to forego the excursions. One interesting thing that occurred during our stay. There were some delegates and conferences (though I understand the talks were possibly at various locations in Bled) attending the Bled Strategic Forum 2026. Lots of police convoys escorting the great and the good to various venues/hotels and close protection type personnel around. Pretty sure some of them were armed, I'm guessing guests at the hotel weren't vetted. There were a few children at the hotel, personally I don't think the area has much for children to do, perhaps at some of the camp sites further away are more suitable.

We stayed five days. The room was clean and it is absolutely worth booking a lake view. The breakfast and evening meal was good quality and varied. The small bar was good with well prepared drinks. The staff were helpful and efficient. For activities we took the public bus to Ljubljana for the day, took a boat trip to the island, swam in the lake, hired a SUP for a couple of hours and took the land train around the lake. There was a summer toboggan ride which was worth it but prepare for queues. Overall, I recommend the hotel and location. The views were stunning.

If you get the lake view, I must admit it's worth every penny. Waking up in the morning to see the glistening water is truly exceptional. I unfortunately was on the first floor which meant that the view was obscured by a massive tree but I could still see the lake. The staff are really friendly and were so helpful when I asked them what there is to do in the area. They let me know which locations were "less touristy" which was useful. The water fountain in the middle is super useful when you want to top up the water (which I did an inordinate amount of time considering the temperature). The best bit about the hotel is that it's truly a stones throw away from the lake itself. You can't get any closer. If you're thinking about Lake Bled (and have the funds to do so), this hotel is a no brainer. It was so convenient being able to do a long hike and knowing the hotel was not so far away from the lake. The beds itself was comfy and the bathroom was nicely fitted with a bath tub and shower, depending on your preference. I didn't use the top floor pool (only for pictures) but it was a nice place to get away from the chaos and not least the views from the 5th floor were breathtaking. A super pernickety point but I wasn't a fan of the main lighting in the room. Once turned on, it felt like quite dingy and uncomfortable. Secondly, the other main frustration was that the sauna was a paid-for service. Surely it should be include within the hotel package considering the price you pay for it? I also didn't use the gym but the facilities were ok.
