Terme Krka is supposed to be a trustworthy brand. Sporthotel Otočec proves the opposite. The hotel is simply repulsive. The rooms have dust-covered floor coverings. The room furnishings are from the socialist era. Or rather, there is practically no furniture. There are only empty wardrobes and two hangers. Is there a fridge with drinks in the rooms? No. Or rather, there is, but it is of course switched off and empty. An iron? No. Bathrobes and slippers for visiting the wellness center? No. The cleanliness is appalling. There is dust on the floor, and cobwebs are hanging from the ventilation nozzles above the radiators. The worst thing is that there were animals in the room, on the floor, curtains, and under the bed. Beetles, bugs, whatever they were, made a fantastic contribution to the repulsiveness of this hotel. On top of that, the water in the toilet did not drain properly. Why did I give it two stars? The breakfast was okay and the bed was relatively comfortable. But I didn't sleep at all because I was afraid of these animals the whole time. Apparently, the pool is okay too. I couldn't try it because there were no robes or towels available. Apparently, you can buy them. In a hotel where accommodation costs EUR 170 and boasts four stars, I will not allow myself this humiliation. Avoid it if you can.

Is it possible to leave a negative number review? There are probably hostels that provide better service. I paid a, in my opinion,very inflated amount for my accommodation considering that there is no evening meal available, unless there are a large number of people staying and guess what, there aren't. The 'laundry' service is unbelievable, I put laundry in at 07:20 on Thursday morning, and when asked on Friday evening where it was, I was told that because it was not handed to reception before 6am I can not expect it back before Monday, nowhere is it written that laundry has to be in at that time! There is nothing supplied in the room, such as water. The rooms are very basic. This place was suggested by a colleague because it has a fitness centre, who i may have words with, I would not have considered staying here, and now I am sorry. There is not even a weekend manager available to rail against! DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT STAYING HERE! The staff are all youngsters so it is not their fault. The 'hotel' is owned by a local corporation, so it is primarily used for corporate functions. However, that does not allow it to be worse than useless as a hotel. There is a far better place locally called Pri Belokranjcu. If it wasn't for the fact that I were leaving in a few days, I would move there! Once again, do not bother.

Spent 2 nights here on a business trip, this hotel is really a perfect option to rest and recharge the batteries. The staff is great, the rooms are vlean and comfy, breakfast is delicious. The wellness area with the pool and the saunas are perfect fof some rest after a hard day of work. Will definitaly return soon.

Nice and cosy, friendly and helpful stuff. I really like the swimming pool it is perfect also for families with small children, because it's just the right size to see kids everywhere. The nature is beautiful.

We spent three nights here and booked two superior rooms - these were ‘sport themed’ and equipped with fitness equipment (we had a fitness ball, suspension trainer and pull up bar - all good fun). Our rooms faced the back of the hotel and there were no views as such. This is not the kind of hotel where people spend much time in the room though - it’s a great location for an active holiday, both around the hotel (the free bikes were great) and in the region (Novo Mesto is the main city nearby, and there are plenty of castles and places along the river Krka to see). But this is a review of the hotel so good things to highlight are the varied breakfast, plentiful free parking and helpful front desk staff (checking in and out was quick). The rooms were spacious and clean (bathroom robes provided but no slippers). Less positive was the housekeeping - beds made rather messily, used towels taken away but not replaced, and bathroom toiletries not replenished. There is a lobby bar but it is an extension of the reception and the receptionists are actually the ones who make the drinks. For a 4-star hotel there were limited options for getting food in the hotel too, unless you are on half board, so we went into Novo Mesto most evenings (it’s just a 10 minute drive away). Overall, though, we enjoyed our stay and would return.
