Cabogata Beach Hotel - We booked this hotel/resort at the last minutes due to unexpected issues with other accommodation. Wow we were pleased we did! Great parking, very pet friendly and lovely size studio with 2 bedrooms, lounge and balcony (room only). The hotel offered 2 lovely swimming pools with plenty of loungers, and an indoor pool and spa! Lovely friendly reception team; spacious bar area, outside pool bar serving snacks. Restaurant although we did not use it. Access to the promenade from the hotel grounds, with lovely walks and with shops and restaurants within 10 minutes’ walk both ways. Easy driving to Almeria, and the beautiful Cabo Gato National park, both coastal and inland. We stayed 5 nights and loved it!

This hotel was classed as 5* but it isn’t. Very few staff spoke English. On check in we weren’t offered a safe key . I had to request this separately - odd when this is free. Rooms have a kettle but no cups / tea or coffee. You are expected to buy this at €7.50 a day. Extortionate. The breakfast buffet had loads of choice but the ‘hot’ food was tepid at best. We ate the 1st night in the hotel buffet. €92 for 2 with one glass of wine. There was little choice in food and again it was tepid. Again extortion. The pools had lots of missing tiles in them. There was only 1 outside bar which took an age to get served in, even though they didn’t seem busy. The cocktails were €12 making them €4 more expensive than outside the hotel. A half pint of beer in a wine glass by the pool is €4 again extortion.

Hotel has a lot of potential, but right now it’s definitely not a 5* experience Majority or staff seem really demotivated and unqualified, no smiles, no care, no enthusiasm or interest to be there The hotel itself is very spacious, luminous and clean, but the design and maintenance are very basic and really need some attention. The food barely would comply with a 4* standard, very basic and unexciting, especially breakfast- starting from Mercadona style dry old croissants and bread rolls, through to really embarrassingly poor service at the pool bar. The location of the hotel is fantastic, as are the 2 big pools We won’t be back mainly because of the sad energy from the staff, lack of entertainment, and below par service and food. For the value it’s really not bad, as long as you understand in advance that you’re basically just getting the location and potential to be great

We booked 3 nights at the last minute as plans to go to Granada floundered as we hadn’t booked excursions in time. The hotel looked nice on line but we didn’t have high expectations as the price was very reasonable. The hotel is BEAUTIFUL. We booked a Presidential suite which had two big bedrooms one with en-suite bathroom and another bathroom off the living room three balconies and very well appointed. The pool area is enormous with a family pool and (I think) an Olympic length pool. Loads of beds and straw umbrellas. Also an indoor pool and spa. The a la carte restaurant was good, not expensive, there was also a buffet restaurant ( I think included in the half board etc) which we didn’t use and a pool side bar/ cafe. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Our only criticism would be don’t be in a hurry for check in/out or pool service. However be aware unless you have a car there is little to do in the surrounding area. The beach is beautiful but no beds etc. The nearby restaurants were very inexpensive but not fancy. I would recommend this place for anyone who wanted to chill out or a family looking for an inexpensive getaway but don’t come if you’re looking for night life!

A lovely birthday present from my son a three night stay. A gorgeous hotel and would have given five stars if wasn’t for a few disappointments. Two large TVs in the restaurant for a la carte dinner, not exactly romantic. No other restaurant to eat in this time of year. For a menu for 65 euros per person I would not expect to have football on. No bottle of water in the room on arrival in the rooms, this is a first for me. A coffee machine in the room but no coffee or tea you had to pay another 7 euros for this luxury and the cost of two large milky coffee 14 euros in hotel. The spa isn’t worth the money, a sauna with cold shower only then an aromatic shower which was just another cold shower no smells or anything different then a third shower just cold, I was told to go in each one inbetween the sauna but they were all the same? A jacuzzi and then two plunge pools both just cold after laying on jet of water ? 35 euros per person for 45 mins. The steam room was closed so offered half price on day. Saying all of this the hotel was lovely and I can imagine when other restaurants are open it’s fantastic as rooms and bathroom amazing. The staff were lovely on reception and all the staff very nice. Breakfast was great and quality of food beautiful. Walks amazing in area. TV was the main issue for me as I would never have tv on when eating dinner at home let alone in restaurant and it’s certainly not a sports bar! Would have given five stars.
