We had a great holiday overall as we made the most of it, but there were definitely some downsides. The food was quite repetitive, and we found ourselves eating the same things most days. That said, there was always something available, so we never went without. One of the biggest issues was on our departure day. Check-out is at 12pm, which is also when the all-inclusive ends. We weren’t being picked up until around 4–4:30pm, and when we asked if we could pay extra to extend the all-inclusive, we were told no. After checking out, we were even disconnected from the hotel Wi-Fi. Both myself and my partner don’t have mobile data, so we had to rely on our daughter’s hotspot just to check for updates from Jet2. We also had our 8-year-old with us, who was left bored for four hours as we couldn’t use facilities like crazy golf or table tennis. The only thing we were offered was a lunch ticket, and this was only because we arrived very late on our first day due to a delayed flight and didn’t get to use any of the hotel facilities then. On previous holidays, we’ve always been able to use the all-inclusive facilities until pick-up, so this was disappointing. I also wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you are from the UK. It is very much a Spanish hotel, with everything in Spanish and limited English spoken by staff. That said, this is partly our fault for not checking beforehand. Additionally, the all-inclusive offering wasn’t clearly explained, and we found that some snacks and drinks required an extra charge, which wasn’t obvious. The on-site shop was also limited, selling mostly toys and souvenirs rather than snacks or drinks. The nearest shops are about a 20-minute walk away, which isn’t ideal. Overall, while we had a good time, I personally wouldn’t return to this hotel.

Lovely holiday, hotel facilities were excellent, good choice of food buffet style morning and evening meal. Pool area a hit with our granddaughter with the water slides. Found the hotel very clean with friendly staff.

I spent 5 nights at this hotel on half-board as a solo traveller, overall a nicely refurbished hotel and generally clean hotel with friendly staff and good sized rooms but I experienced several issues so would not class as 4*: Issues: -Only one sheet to sleep with, I appreciate this is spanish culture but would expect the option of duvet at a 4* hotel and having requested a duvet across 2 days i was finally given a wooly yellow blanket, something akin to a custody suite at a police station which i did not use. -Lack of towel changing. On day 4 of my stay i was still using the same towels, I had left one set on the floor and these were taken away and not replaced. Having complained to guest relations that morning at around 930am, by 6pm these towels had still not been replaced and i had to complain again. - Serious fly issue in dining hall and lack of food covering!! -Limited food labelling in the restaurant, I had no idea what most dishes were so simply avoided them! Overall, a disappointing stay and I would likely not return.

Visited Playamojacar June 2026. Overall: Beautiful place with beautiful people, we hope to come back again!! Muchos Gracias to everyone People: Every single person we met were helpful, friendly and genuine. We were made to feel comfortable instantly, and everyone was themselves. Massive thank you to the reception team, housekeeping, restaurant/bar team and especially the entertainment team. (I am terrible at remembering names but Alfie says thank you for making his holiday more special) They made the whole experience feel more comfortable and great atmosphere throughout. Hotel: Beautiful building, clean, has everything there you need, didnt feel like we needed to leave. Restaurants, bar, entertainment, free mini golf & table tennis, small games room, pool with slides, Gym, Small shop with pool stuff Pool: Watched a team of 5plus clean the pool and whole area for about an hour every morning. There's 4 separate sections, literally space for everyone. (Swimming pool, hot tub, kids area, slides) We only tried the slides once, the blue one was shockingly fast and it did hurt my lower back hitting the water so put me off going back on. But the rest of the pool was so good we didnt mind. Lots of chairs, umbrellas and the bar. 3 life guards on at busy times. Room: Clean, spacious, has USB plugs, towels, mini fridge, fan, air con, balconies with beautiful view. Asked for extra pillows and were set up by the time we got back to the room. They are cleaned every morning while we were at breakfast. Room service was an option but we just got drinks from the bar etc and then went to relax in the room with them. Kids club: Resort has a talented group of entertainers that host a range of activities that are varied, inclusive, relaxed, fun. You have a choice of leaving children with them or staying and joining in too. They host all ages activities too like pool dances during the day and bingo in evening. Food/drinks: Had all inclusive; Get breakfast, lunch, Dinner, then in-between those times there is unlimited pizza, crisps, ice cream and range of drinks all day. Kitchen team would walk around the buffet every day making sure everything was replenished, fresh and they were available for any questions. One of the stations in Restaurant you could watch some things be made fresh (fish, steak, omelette, pancakes). Good range of local style food but also classics to keep fussy eaters happy. Bar in entertainment room as well as at the side of the pool; coffee, cocktails, beers, soft drinks, water- all included. More premium items available at supplements too. Location: Its a quiet town which we thought was perfect. 5 minute walk to beach(all of them were a bit stoney), 10 minute walk to shops(souvenirs, markets). 30 min walk to bigger shops/restaurants. 1hr40mins drive from Murcia airport. Would highly recommend getting a hire car(we used "Centuro" 10/10).

Please read before you book! I rarely leave reviews because I travel a lot and usually don’t have the time, but I genuinely felt this experience needed to be shared. Unfortunately, our stay at this hotel was disappointing from the second night onwards. We discovered red ants in our room, which resulted in us having to move rooms at around 12am with two tired children. The move itself was extremely inconvenient, and no assistance or compensation was offered for the disruption caused. I also requested a late checkout by just a couple of hours due to the inconvenience during our stay, but no effort was made to accommodate this request. Another frustrating aspect of the hotel was the constant need to swipe a card every single time you wanted a drink or entered the restaurant. It completely takes away from the relaxed “all inclusive” experience and honestly felt excessive and inconvenient. The vegetarian food options were also very poor. Unless you are happy eating salad, chips and margarita pizza for most of your holiday, choices are extremely limited. Although the hotel provided a separate vegetarian menu, it was repetitive throughout the week — mainly pizza, pasta, lentil curry (without rice), and a vegetarian burger, which was actually decent. What made things even harder was that none of the food in the main restaurant was labelled as vegetarian. The explanation given was “cross contamination,” but in my opinion this is poor and outdated practice. I have travelled extensively and stayed in many hotels, and this is one of the few places where choosing suitable food felt unnecessarily difficult and stressful. I also agree with many of the other reviews regarding the “all inclusive” package. It certainly is not all inclusive as advertised. For example, guests are restricted to one ice cream and one ice lolly, which is honestly ridiculous. Since when does “all inclusive” mean paying extra for items that should clearly be included? It feels misleading and very poor value for money. Overall, this hotel simply does not provide the level of service or quality expected for the amount of money paid. Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend choosing another hotel in the area.
