Expo Barcelona

We love a Moxy hotel and this one did not disappoint. Let’s start with what I find reading reviews about any Moxy. The room…yes it’s minimal but honestly perfect in our opinion. There’s not so much of the clutter. The room was small but not unlike many other hotel rooms across Europe. It’s spotless with a great bathroom and shower! The beds were the most comfortable beds we slept in on our 30 day adventure and we all wished we had more nights there. The location is great as it’s right by the central station. The staff is wonderful and welcoming. A must stay when you are in Barcelona!

It is a typical Moxy, for those that are familiar with this Marriott brand: stylish public places, an unconventional reception, by Moxy Bar and overall, a social, hub-like, lively atmosphere all day long. The rooms, although modern and techy, are small and simple, with limited storage space and the absolute necessary amenities. The breakfast, along the same lines, is nicely presented, featuring the standard options, with no surprises. The hotel is conveniently located next to Sans Train Station and at a smooth 10 minutes’ walk from Plaça d'Espanya -so, although not in the plain tourist zone, the access is easy for everywhere in the city. Overall, it is a decent option for a short stay in the city, but, maybe, not the best one for a week-long business visit, as in my case.

Review coming from a US tourist (who lives in a major city):Not the worst place I've stayed, but I'd say only stay here if you have a reason (ex near where you need to be or budget), otherwise I’d find another spot. From an area perspective, it's not the safest or cleanest. It's also quite a few metro stops from the main areas, which became a pain. From a hotel room, they were clean *enough* but not worth what you’re paying. Scratches on the walls, stains on the floor, that kinda thing. Other random things: it takes FOREVER for the elevators to come to you here, which leaves you standing in the hallway for like 5-8 minutes everytime you want to leave.
