The view from the rooftop terrace is actually mediocre. They will charge you four euros downstairs. You should be aware if you come on a holiday; it is not necessary to queue. But after you go in and sit down, you still have to wait for those in the viewing seats to finish before you can see the view. The smoking area is not separated, so you will be inhaling secondhand smoke while you wait. There is also no time limit, so you can inhale secondhand smoke to your heart's content until you get to a viewing seat when the sun goes down. A drink, a bottle of fruit juice, is six euros. This is currently the most disappointing itinerary in Spain. They even discriminate against Asians, and when it's your turn to sit in a viewing seat, they tell you to order again

We stayed at the Lamaro hotel prior to a cruise. We absolutely loved the hotel but breakfast was not good ( food was cold). We loved everything about the hotel other than this. Location was excellent along with cleanliness and professional team at desk and door. We will absolutely book this hotel again minus the breakfast.

For our 30th wedding anniversary, we decided to splurge a little and stay at Hotel Lamaro. What we expected was a beautiful room. What we got was a beautiful room, a spectacular view, and a hospitality team that may have permanently ruined all other hotels for us. Our room overlooked the magnificent Barcelona Cathedral and was everything we had hoped for and more. The view was breathtaking, although I will admit that when the air conditioner briefly stopped cooperating, we discovered that sleeping with the patio door open means enjoying a complimentary concert of church bells every fifteen minutes, accompanied by enthusiastic crowds cheering on street performers. If you’ve ever wanted to drift off to sleep while a violin, cello, accordion, and several hundred of your newest friends celebrate life beneath your window, this is your moment. The true stars of Hotel Lamaro, however, are the people. Giovanni deserves his own wing of the hotel. I am convinced that if we had misplaced a small European country, he would have found it for us. He helped us navigate airline issues, restaurant reservations, local attractions, transportation, and even directed us to some of the best food we had during our entire stay. Every recommendation was outstanding. One evening, he sent us to a Sicilian café in Poblenou for granitas during Barcelona’s heat wave. Those granitas were so refreshing they felt less like dessert and more like emergency medical treatment. Richard became hopelessly devoted to the lemon flavor, while I fell in love with pistachio. At this point, an intervention may be necessary. Maria was equally wonderful and surprised us with a complimentary bottle of cava that transformed an already memorable stay into something truly special. It was thoughtful, generous, and deeply appreciated. Her kindness and professionalism perfectly reflected the culture of hospitality throughout the hotel. Our housekeeper was incredibly warm and helpful, happily answering questions about local churches and helping us better appreciate the history and beauty of Barcelona. Junior from maintenance quickly resolved our air-conditioning issue with professionalism, competence, and a smile. In fact, every employee we encountered seemed genuinely invested in making our stay exceptional. Now, in the interest of complete honesty, the breakfast buffet could use a little fine-tuning. The scrambled eggs appeared to be carrying the entire egg department on their backs, the bacon possessed the structural integrity of stained glass, and some of the fruit seemed to have recently attended a yeast convention. Fortunately, we later discovered there was a hidden egg menu available, which felt a bit like uncovering a secret level in a video game. What impressed us most was not that everything was perfect, but that every member of the team genuinely cared. They listened, responded, followed up, and consistently went above and beyond. In an age when customer service often feels automated, Hotel Lamaro delivered something refreshingly human. We travel occasionally, and we can honestly say we have never experienced this level of kindness, competence, and personalized service at a hotel. By the end of our stay, it felt less like we were checking out of a hotel and more like we were saying goodbye to friends. Thank you, Giovanni, Maria, Junior, and the entire Hotel Lamaro team for making our anniversary unforgettable. We would absolutely stay here again—and if possible, we would book the exact same room.
