INNSiDE Barcelona Apolo

We've recently returned from a fabulous 4 night stay at this hotel, with our 18 year old daughter. My husband was slightly aggrieved at having to pay tourist tax as he is a Spanish (Catalan) national but that this the law and not the hotel's fault. As a previous review stated it is in a slightly rough area, but we always felt safe and I was reassured by the hotel having a security guard at all times. The room was immaculate and credit goes to the housekeeping staff for this. The mini-bar (containing 3 x cartons of juice, 1 x can of carbonated water, and 1 x bottle of still water - probably not enough for 3 adults) was restocked daily, and they didn't mind us keeping our own milk and wine in it! The exceedingly large bed was really comfortable with a range of pillows to suit everyone. And our daughter said that her extra bed was also really comfortable. I am also pleased to report that the shower is really powerful as weak, dribbly showers are a bug-bear of mine. Towels are large, thick and fluffy. They are not changed every day unless requested due to environmental reasons which we liked. All the staff were friendly and helpful, speaking numeorus languages - fortunately as I do not speak Catalan or Castellano. The porter was very hard-working, and I don't think I ever saw him sitting down. I apologise for not getting any of the staff names, but they are all a credit to your hotel. We did not have breakfast, so we are unable to comment on that but we spoke to people who said it was good value with lots of variety. All in all, we had a brilliant time, and will definitely stay here again.

Really wanted to give this hotel 4-5 star review because of the pros: Exceptionally friendly staff Very clean rooms with giant comfortable beds Reasonable rates Good location for cruise ships and restaurants However unfortunately one major point let them down. We arrived at midnight and the air conditioning had not been set atall to maintain an automatic minimum temperature so the room was 27 (86F) degrees when we arrived. We asked for an air conditioning engineer to try to cool the room quickly as we needed to sleep, it took no less than 7 hours for the room to reach 21 degrees (70F) so all night we struggled to sleep until it finally became cool at around 7am. Not acceptable and could be easily fixed by setting AC to keep rooms to a maximum temperature of around 23 degrees during the summer even when vacant. Such a huge shame as everything else was great for the price but if you are heat sensitive you need to look for a hotel with better AC

Currently staying in hotel, due to leave in a couple days. Hotel is spotless, so clean, modern and beds extremely comfortable. Staff are kind and helpful. The location is great! Central and public transport is right outside. I’ve seen a few reviews saying bad neighbourhood but I didn’t find it particularly awful, security on door so felt safe at all times. Love the mezzanine the drinks there were delicious. Onto the negatives, aircon is not cold enough and cannot turn it up, which is almost unbearable in the 32° heat Spain is currently experiencing. My biggest downside is the noise, the first room we were given was at the front by the road, extremely noisy. We asked for a room change and this was accommodated without hesitation which we appreciated. However, the hotel doors are very heavy and loud, we have been constantly woken up through the night to doors closing. Other guests are extremely loud, currently writing this review at 4am and have not slept at all due to the noise of guests slamming and the loud doors closing. I appreciate this is not the hotels fault and they cannot control guests but it’s completely ruined experience. Not being able to get to sleep at 4am is frustrating. I wouldn’t book again due to this and would advise any people who are not heavy sleepers to avoid.

This hotel was just ok. Was near cruise port so handy and a 10 min walk to La Ramblas however not the greatest of areas. The rooms are spacious and modern but there is wear and tear. Mould in showers, flooring coming apart at joins. There is a small fridge with juice and water included which is a nice addition. Staff are nice and breakfast is really good. Air con in room does not go below 22 degrees, not cool enough for the hot weather. Security required due to hotel location.

I am giving 4.5 star. Hotel is pretty new, clean, refreshment in your room gets refilled everyday which is plus. Staff were also nice. My only observation is even if the room gets clean they dont change your towel or replace the coffee mug into a new set if you used it. I wash the mugs anyways so it's okay i guess. Otherwise, our family had a good stay. Hotel is also about 15 mins walk to Palau Guell, La Rambla, La Boqueria Mercat, and Placa Reial.
