Albir Playa Hotel & Spa

We come to Albir and Altea every year and always stay in Hotel Albir Playa Excellent hotel spotlessly clean welcoming staff we stay in a delux room which are on the 5th floor with views to die for worth the extra cost Good breakfast small quiet dining room pool and pool area excellent great stay as always well done Albir Playa

Absolutely terrible, would not recommend, we booked a double room with pool view and ended up in single beds… after speaking to the woman on the desk to see if we could get just a mattress topper, she turned us away and she says we get what we are given. There’s a leak on the ceiling that’s left a horrible stain, there’s mould in the bathroom around the shower tray. Before visiting reception, i tried calling from the room, she answered and put the phone down after hearing what i said, so i rang again and she put it down again. We try and come away for a family holiday to be let down! Really not acceptable and there should be someone to (TRY) support and help with these problems.

Arrived feeling nervous as a first time solo traveller, easyjet holidays transfer tool over 2 hours and you are dropped off by the Veritas supermarket (about 350 metres from hotel) . The little walk was fine for me but anyone with mobility issues might need to take heed if booking with EJ I had B&B only , the breakfast was exceptional - anything you'd fancy for breakfast is there hot and cold ..pastries were lovely, theres a chef making pancakes and hot ham an cheese toasties , fried eggs etc ..theres 4 coffee machines which was enough....plenty of fruit and cold cheese & meats, cereals etc The pool area can get busy, a few days there was alot of guests stood at the barrier ready to bolt for the best beds , as I was solo I didn't have any issue getting one on its own ..pool bar is fine, food options and decent drinks at reasonable prices Staff, there were 2 women who worked in the bar / pool bar and they were so lovely, really friendly. I had to approach reception one day to ask if my Uber app had the correct address as the hotel didn't show up, the older man behind the desk just said no and walked away, no further assistance .... I took my chances anyways and the uber found me with no issue. He was quite rude. There is also quite a kurt fella at Breakfasr, he's running that efficiently but again could be quite sharp with people Shuttle bus to beach, really handy! A nice girl doing the runs too, asking if you need a return..I walked back a few times , its mostly flat and not far from hotel so this was no issue Room. The room was certainly acceptable for 1 person or even 2 ..shower was well pressurised and they cleaned everyday if you hung the sign on the door ..no complaints about cleanliness at all Overall L'Albir itself is quite quiet , again as a solo traveller i wasnt really comfortable going out at night alone but there was a stunning curry house (Katmandu) right next to the hotel and Sopporo buffet was really nice too, just across the street ...19.95 and worth it I would definitely stay again if I was in the area , apart from a few sullen faces it was really enjoyable , thanks again to the 2 lovely ladies at the bar, they really are as asset to the hotel

We visited here at the end of August as two adults and one child. Looking at recent reviews I was worried about our trip but we were pleasantly surprised, the hotel was nice and clean and the room had plenty of space. The lifts were quite slow but it’s not the end of the world. Staff were friendly and welcoming and all of them were happy to answer any questions we had. They told us the times for meals and told us about the free shuttle to the beach(only a 15 minute walk so We didn’t use the shuttle ) The meals were lovely with various choices, steak, fish, burgers, various salads, curries and pastas. Plenty of choice for everyone. The pool was an adequate size and well maintained, we were told no inflatables, some days this was enforced, some days it wasn’t which was confusing for children. Good central location, 15 minutes on the bus to altea and 15 minutes to Benidorm. Overall we had a lovely stay and robably would return.

Just came back from our holiday in Spain. Chose this hotel because of the good location. Hotel itself is very good with good rooms, shower room, spacious balcony with a fantastic view to the pool and mountains, very nice pool and loungers. When we arrived at night after our flight the staff was not welcoming at all. The lady was sitting in a chair and did not turn even her head at us when we came in to a reception. She did not say any polite words like welcome to our hotel etc. The staff was not interested in guests at all. The same was on our departure date. We gave back our keys and the receptionist didn't say even thank you for your stay or have a good trip back home😵‍💫🤐 Reception staff need to teach good manners and how to welcome their guests in the hotel. The cleaners, bar staff and restaurant waiters were very friendly and did a great job instead of reception! Do not book this hotel if you want an entertainment. As a family we expected an entertainment through out the day and evening. But it's non existent! During the day you can play water football and you can get some noodles to swim with😵‍💫😂😂 On the evening the entertainer was switching YouTube videos with some movements to repeat that's it!!! Bare in mind that drinks alcoholic and non alcoholic even water are NOT included in your package. You have to pay for drinks separately during lunch and dinner. It was something new for us, never experienced that in any other hotels. The food when we came was pretty good with excellent breakfast and dinner. But at the end of our stay there was nothing to choose from what to eat even no meat or fish just pasta and sauces for dinner! This hotel is good for couples or adults only, but not for families with kids due to poor entertainment and poor food selection.
