Cap Negret Hotel

We had a most enjoyable stay at this beautiful hotel in Altea and would happily recommend it. The location is perfect for a relaxing holiday. Spacious pool area, plenty of sun beds/parasols with tables and chairs to the other side. A well-stocked bar with reasonably priced drinks and snacks. The hotel sits right beside the beach. Although it's stony, a pair of water shoes made it easier to enjoy a swim in the warm sea. The buffet breakfast was excellent, with an impressive selection of hot and cold dishes to suit every taste. There was plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. The hotel also offers several attractive communal areas where you can relax in the sunshine or find a peaceful spot in the shade. The entertainment team deserves a special mention. The water aerobics sessions were great fun, and although we didn't have children with us, it was lovely to see how enthusiastic and engaging the children's entertainer was. Our room was small but had lovely views over the pool and the sea. The bed was very comfortable, the air conditioning coped adequately despite the extreme heat, and the room was equipped with a tea and coffee machine, fridge and safe. The toiletries and towels were also of good quality. The hotel was spotless throughout, and all the staff were friendly and courteous. The communal areas, including the games room, were cool due to good air conditioning. Evening entertainment was enjoyable, although louder than we would have preferred. Getting around was easy. The tram stop is only a five-minute walk out from the front of the hotel, with a reliable service, good value too. The hotel also provides a shuttle bus into town, which was thoughtful and a useful addition for guests. Clearer instructions regarding the return pick-up would have been useful. Whilst there aren't shops immediately nearby, a ten-minute walk takes you to Altea's promenade with numerous restaurants and cafés. From there, it's about ten minutes uphill to the charming old town. Walking in the opposite direction from the hotel leads to a handful of beach bars with a more local, less touristy atmosphere. We would return, probably outside the height of summer as there are plenty of interesting places nearby that we would explore.

Loved this hotel it is so well run and organised. Very clean and staff are very friendly. We had breakfast each day which was amazing and you can dine in or outside on the patio. There is a water aerobics class in the main pool every day which is a good workout and the surroundings are lovely. Right next to the beach and lovely outside terraces and places to chill if you don’t want to lie on a sun bed. We had a wee issue with our room but there is a customer experience team that stepped in and sorted for us. Claudia was first class. It takes 10 minutes to walk to the new part of town with lots of shops and bars very civilised. We could also take the free hotel mini bus to the old town which is outstanding. We can’t wait to return to the Capnegret.

A beautiful hotel in a privileged location and we enjoyed our holiday so much! 🩵✨️ The staff were incredible - friendly, helpful, and their communication was great. I had requested some specific things due to travelling with my elderly mum, and all my requests were addressed. The location is gorgeous with breathtaking views out to sea, but not as walkable when the weather is so hot. That being said, taxis are easy to get and reasonably priced. We opted for private taxis as the hotel's courtesy vehicle to the old town was always fully booked for the times we wanted, but the taxis were lovely and drivers very friendly. Very easy to the beach promenade - 5 minutes in a taxi if that! The promenade is amazing. Loads of shops, cafés and beautiful views. We recommend Valor for good quality coffee, friendly staff, and superb air conditioning. The hotel room was lovely. Very clean, spacious, and good air conditioning. We had a lovely view and it was very peaceful. The food was very good and restaurant staff incredible, particularly the Austrian staff members doing work experience (sorry I didn't get their names). Overall, excellent. A few small negatives: • Pool area way too small and crowded. Impossible to get a sunbed in high season and lots of external day-pass visitors. • Noisy music around the pool • Lastly, too many smokers everywhere and permitted to in any part of the outside spaces. I am asthmatic and found it incredibly smoky. Designated and restricted areas needed. It was though, an amazing holiday. It felt like a luxury beach club and no high-rise buildings around. Gorgeous outdoor bar area. Plenty of drinks on offer and lots of outdoor seating areas to chill out. Amazing! Beautifully clean pebble beach. The hotel was also spotless. Amazingly well-managed. Thank you so much for an amazing stay. We can't wait to come back next year! 😊🩵✨️

Location good but stony beach so make sure you wear something on your feet. Pool area very busy and don’t seem to be enough sunbeds to go round. Be careful walking around pool area barefoot as it is very slippery, one guy falling yesterday and getting concussion. It’s very difficult to move around because people close the walkways by moving beds etc. One pool toilet cubicle for several hundred people is not good enough. Food is good and staff very helpful. Hotel is clean and situated about 20 mins walk from promenade and seems a long way in the heat.

We booked our holiday to Altea through TUI, and Cap Negret was one of the hotels they recommended. I’m pleased to say it proved to be the perfect choice for our family holiday. The hotel is approximately a 45-minute coach transfer from Alicante Airport, with just a couple of drop-offs along the way. Check-in was quick and straightforward, and the reception staff were welcoming and friendly from the moment we arrived. Throughout our stay, the hotel was immaculately clean. The rooms were spacious, well laid out, and comfortable. We booked one sea-view room (at an additional cost) and another overlooking the car park. While the sea-view room was lovely for relaxing on the balcony and enjoying the scenery, we mainly used the rooms for sleeping, so the view wasn’t particularly important for us. We opted for the bed and breakfast package as we enjoy exploring local restaurants while on holiday. Breakfast exceeded our expectations, offering an excellent variety of food. There were plenty of healthy options alongside the traditional cooked breakfast, with something to suit every taste. The hotel also has a gym and spa. The gym was very well equipped and, like the rest of the hotel, spotlessly clean. My only minor criticism is that it doesn’t have any cable machines. Aside from that, it has everything needed for a good workout, including treadmills, exercise bikes, free weights, a Smith machine, and a good selection of resistance machines. We didn’t make use of the spa during our stay. The swimming pool is a great size and has direct access to the beach. It features massage jets, plenty of showers, and a poolside bar and restaurant serving drinks and snacks throughout the day. During our visit, most of the guests appeared to be families with older children (around 10 years and above), along with a few babies. We travelled just before the school holidays, so the atmosphere was relaxed and never felt overcrowded. The beach itself is clean, well maintained, and has a lifeguard on duty. It’s worth noting that this is a pebble beach rather than a sandy one, so I would strongly recommend bringing or buying water shoes, as they make getting into and out of the sea much more comfortable. The sea was beautifully clear, refreshingly cool without being cold, and perfect for cooling off after a morning’s walk into town. Altea is only a pleasant walk from the hotel, and the seafront promenade is lined with excellent cafés, bars, and restaurants, creating a fantastic atmosphere both day and night. The highlight for us was the old town, which sits on the hill overlooking the coast. It is absolutely stunning, with charming cobbled streets, independent boutiques, art galleries, souvenir shops, and wonderful places to eat and drink. We found ourselves walking up there every day, whether for a morning coffee or an evening meal. The church at the top is particularly beautiful and offers spectacular views across the coastline. The hotel also provides evening entertainment every night, with a varied programme of performances and activities. Although we didn’t spend much time watching the shows, the entertainment team were enthusiastic and friendly, and the daily aqua aerobics sessions in the pool were always well attended and looked like great fun. Overall, Cap Negret exceeded our expectations in almost every way. It is a clean, comfortable, and well-run hotel in an excellent location, with friendly staff, great facilities, and easy access to both the beach and the beautiful town of Altea. If you’re looking for a relaxing holiday with the option to explore a genuinely charming Spanish town, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Cap Negret. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return in the future.
