Cap Negret Hotel

The hotel room itself was good, the breakfast was of a high standard, and the facilities overall were very pleasant. Unfortunately, the overall impression was significantly dragged down by the hospitality. Right from check-in, it felt rigid with a bit too many rules and finger-pointing. However, what lowers the rating the most is that I had informed the hotel in advance that we were celebrating a 60th birthday. This was not acknowledged with a single word or gesture during our entire stay. To completely ignore such a note is, in my opinion, really poor for a four-star hotel, where you expect a completely different level of attentiveness and service. Here, you missed the chance to provide that little extra that makes people want to come back.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Cap Negret for six nights. We booked directly with the hotel and chose a premium front sea-view room. Unfortunately, the room we were initially assigned to was very disappointing. There was a strong smell of stale cigarettes and perspiration, which immediately gave the room a sense of poor cleanliness. The room was also dated and looked quite different from those presented online. In addition to the unpleasant smell, there were visible cleanliness and maintenance issues, including stains on the walls and repair patches that had not been painted over. It was simply not what we expected from a four-star hotel. Thankfully, Yuri from Guest Experience completely changed our experience. He listened carefully to our concerns, understood our disappointment, and helped us obtain the room we had expected. His professionalism, kindness, and genuine willingness to help made a significant difference to our stay. He also gave us wonderful recommendations for Altea and the surrounding area, which we greatly appreciated. The hotel has a beautiful seaside location, and once the room issue was resolved, we truly enjoyed our stay. I hope management gives greater attention to the condition and presentation of some of the rooms so that they consistently reflect the standard advertised. A very special thank you to Yuri for turning a disappointing beginning into a very enjoyable stay. His service was truly five-star.

From the minute we first walked in until we had to leave we felt at home. Everyone we encountered working there was friendly and helpful. The room (511) was fine but I think calling it recently renovated may be stretching the truth a bit. We had a balcony facing Altea so it was very quiet - not that we ever went to bed before the evening entertainment was done. Never managed to get the shuttle into town (you need to book a space) but the tram is near and costs literally nothing - €1.45 per person). If you prefer a taxi that is also cheap as chips into Altea old town at around €8 to the church on top of the hill. Walking back after dinner is simple and takes approx 10-15 minutes. Breakfast is top quality and there is huge choice of food. If you book direct with the hotel they offer an airport shuttle included. This was hugely appreciated, easy to use and gave us the opportunity to see the actual horror of Benidorm on the way.

We had a most enjoyable stay at this beautiful hotel in Altea and would happily recommend it. The location is perfect for a relaxing holiday. Spacious pool area, plenty of sun beds/parasols with tables and chairs to the other side. A well-stocked bar with reasonably priced drinks and snacks. The hotel sits right beside the beach. Although it's stony, a pair of water shoes made it easier to enjoy a swim in the warm sea. The buffet breakfast was excellent, with an impressive selection of hot and cold dishes to suit every taste. There was plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. The hotel also offers several attractive communal areas where you can relax in the sunshine or find a peaceful spot in the shade. The entertainment team deserves a special mention. The water aerobics sessions were great fun, and although we didn't have children with us, it was lovely to see how enthusiastic and engaging the children's entertainer was. Our room was small but had lovely views over the pool and the sea. The bed was very comfortable, the air conditioning coped adequately despite the extreme heat, and the room was equipped with a tea and coffee machine, fridge and safe. The toiletries and towels were also of good quality. The hotel was spotless throughout, and all the staff were friendly and courteous. The communal areas, including the games room, were cool due to good air conditioning. Evening entertainment was enjoyable, although louder than we would have preferred. Getting around was easy. The tram stop is only a five-minute walk out from the front of the hotel, with a reliable service, good value too. The hotel also provides a shuttle bus into town, which was thoughtful and a useful addition for guests. Clearer instructions regarding the return pick-up would have been useful. Whilst there aren't shops immediately nearby, a ten-minute walk takes you to Altea's promenade with numerous restaurants and cafés. From there, it's about ten minutes uphill to the charming old town. Walking in the opposite direction from the hotel leads to a handful of beach bars with a more local, less touristy atmosphere. We would return, probably outside the height of summer as there are plenty of interesting places nearby that we would explore.

Loved this hotel it is so well run and organised. Very clean and staff are very friendly. We had breakfast each day which was amazing and you can dine in or outside on the patio. There is a water aerobics class in the main pool every day which is a good workout and the surroundings are lovely. Right next to the beach and lovely outside terraces and places to chill if you don’t want to lie on a sun bed. We had a wee issue with our room but there is a customer experience team that stepped in and sorted for us. Claudia was first class. It takes 10 minutes to walk to the new part of town with lots of shops and bars very civilised. We could also take the free hotel mini bus to the old town which is outstanding. We can’t wait to return to the Capnegret.
