Hotel Benidorm East by Pierre & Vacances

Tired and needing updated ,floor/door in bedroom subjected to water damage ,no kettle in room , fridge in cupboard felt very warm and one had exploded a few doors from us ,was reasonable priced but in hindsight wish I had paid more for better hotel

Reviewing this in bed on my last night. This is NOT a 4* Hotel. It’s a 2+ 3 at very best. When you compare this to the Flamingo, presidente or Cimbel. A Million miles away from those hotels that genuinely deserve the **** We booked the night before travelling as this was a very last minute get away. Arrival. Reception is nice and clean. Staff were polite, spoke English and professional. The rooms. Dated. Aircon didn’t not work for us. The TV does not have one English speaking channel. No tea and coffee. Bed was comfortable. The rooms need freshening up. Shower is hot and VERY powerful. Oh, door handle fell off the bathroom door. No safe. 20 euro deposit for iron. Cash. Beer and cocktails same price as you will pay on the beach front or strip. All rooms face the pool but massive trees and obstructions don’t allow for great views. At least for us. The location is set back from the main area. If you’re able and of average fitness you can walk this 10 minute walk down to the beach. This hill isn’t the cardiac hill it’s made out to be. Head down. Crack on. Breakfast. As expected. Avoid the sausage. Coffee is crap. Fruit juices are just glucose drinks. Pool. Ice bath. Deep. Found the in door pool. Gym looked alright. Sauna is broken. Couple had a domestic incident 5 doors down that I needed to report to reception. Security went up. When I spoke with him 30 minutes after to ask if everything was ok he just gestured then muttered something about being drunk. There is no CCTV in the corridors or stairwells. I would trust the security guard to do any security. I saw the couple the following day so I know she was alright but don’t have much confidence in security measures in place. Not many English. Don’t necessarily mind that, just an observation. Won’t be returning here. Money is too hard to earn these days at home and a last minute get away shouldn’t have ideally been here but as it’s listed as a 4* you trust it. But if you want a last minute hotel and struggle to find anywhere I guess it’s alright. 20 year ago with the lads this would have been the Ritz but now with a partner and 11 y/o then I had better look for some place with a rating that reflects the standard you expect. Just our experience. Wish the hotel all the best.

Beautiful Hotel, couldnt fault the staff, reception area or the food - all superb! However I really dont think its 4*. Rooms are in need of a serious refurb & some love. ( grab handles in shower hanging off, head board badly scratched / damaged etc) although this didn't disrupt our stay. Fantastic variety of food in the dining area - although v v busy. Pool isnt ideal if your a,"pool family" . The surrounding buildings cut all the sun off around 2/3pm 😔. Theres a HUGE hill as you approach which cant be helped, but a great idea they have a free hotel bus outside every half an hour and its not expensive for a taxi from the main strip. Only major negative being, its the only hotel Ive EVER stayed at that has no coffee in the room ( theres a kettle with funky tea) and reception were shocked when we asked for coffee ( they didnt have any). As non drinkers a brew in the room was quite a big part! Although we picked up coffee and milk from the local supermarket. Goodish location tho- bottom of hill is the beach and the main strip & shops. Night time entertainment only starts at 10.15pm which we found bizarre ( usually 7/8pm in hotels?) Noise didn't keep us awake which was good. Visit Benidorm often for weekends away, sadly wouldnt stay here again but only based on the hill and the room issues.
