Hotel Benidorm East by Pierre & Vacances

We recently stayed at this hotel as a group of 3 and unfortunately it didn’t live up to expectations. Definitely not a 4 star hotel I’d say it’s a 2/3 star. One of the biggest issues was that the hotel appears much better online than it does in reality. The pool area looks spacious in the photos, but it is actually quite small. Our room was also very small and the cleanliness was very very disappointing. The floor appeared dirty from the moment we arrived and walking around barefoot left our feet black. When the cleaner came all she did was make the bed, not hoover, mop, dust or even change the beds once. On one occasion housekeeping didn’t come at all, meaning we had no fresh towels. The shower screen also showed visible build-up and dirt around the seals. Also the reception staff were not particularly friendly or welcoming. We also raised concerns about only having one accessible plug socket in our room and were told all rooms were the same, although other guests told us they had three sockets in theirs. Food and drinks around the pool were extremely expensive. Two vodka Fanta’s cost us €21, which felt excessive, especially for Benidorm. The lifts were another frustration. For such a large hotel they are very small and we regularly waited around five minutes for one to arrive. One was also out of order which meant there was only 2 working lifts. The lifts are very small and would struggle to fit a wheelchair in. Following that the hotel isn’t very accessible to those who have mobility issues or require a wheelchair. To be fair, when we reported issues which we had with the toilet and air conditioning, the maintenance team responded quickly and resolved them efficiently. Overall, while there were some positives the hotel did not provide the standard we expected and we left feeling disappointed. Based on our experience, we would not choose to stay here again.

The rooms are very basic, no draw space for cloths, just a rail to hang cloths. No tea / coffee making facilities in the rooms, no shower curtain around shower. Reception checking was very good. NOT VERY DISABLED FRIENDLY, there is a ramp to get into the hotel for wheelchair users but is very steep and bends, once in the hotel again a steep ramp in reception to get to the lift. There is no lift access to get to the bar/nightly entertainment area, you have to go out the hotel down the curvy ramp, go round the front of the hotel then in through the patio area, this is the same to get to the swimming pool area. The staff are friendly. The food was good with plenty of choice, on a buffet style. The hotel is up a hill and a 30 min walk to the beach but the hotel do have a shuttle bus which runs every 20 min, depending on the driver if he will take wheelchairs.

The pool is extremely deep apart from a small section, No use of Lilos or inflatables so don’t waste your money . If you want to play with a ball In the water there is a tiny section this is permitted in . Drinks and food expensive, English was quite limited from several of the staff The rooms are clean and adequate , and the hotel provide a free shuttle to Levante which is helpful and saves the walk up and down the hill. I wouldn’t stay here again as there are so many other options .
