Hotel Sun Palace Albir & Spa

Overall the hotel was clean of a good standard, very valuable for money although the price is an honest reflection of what you get. The pool area is great, a little dated but overall a relaxing experience. We only had breakfast but it was good quality buffet food from all ranges and choices changing by day. Staff from the hotel are extremely helpful and bar staff were friendly. The location is a little suburban and surrounding a local area, the hill is a little tedious but very manageable (even for me at 7 months pregnant) and they offer shuttles, food delivery and alot of help with mobilising in Albir. The spa is classed as a separate company/facility to the hotel and the biggest disappointment we experienced was that we intentionally booked this hotel for the spa facilities hoping to book a few treatments and swim in the indoor pool area, on our first day we eagerly queued to book a massage and a day in the spa, a couple in front of us seemed to experience a language barrier between the spa receptionist and they ended up not booking anything, they were German so we could not converse what was really going on. Then when we attempted to book a massage each we had the same problem, although we attempted more than 3 times by using a translator app,pointing to what we would like and also asking for another person's help, the person on the reception could not understand and was confused at our request, after a few attempts we had to cancel our request as it wasn't what we had requested. This was disappointing as we were so eager to book treatments and put money aside, we had around €300 of treatments planned that we didn't end up booking because of the language and communication barrier. I did attempt to book this again the day after but this was met with more confusion and misunderstanding. We tried to stay respectful of the staff and didn't want to cause a fuss but it didn't seem to just be us with this problem. The staff at the hotel communicated extremely well with all our needs but the staff at the spa was disappointment for our babymoon. Overall a nice experience, good value and lovely relaxing few days as a couple 💗 Albir area is absolutely lovely and peaceful at all times for a relaxing holiday.

We are at this hotel at the moment. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The room we have overlooks the pool and it is clean and tidy with air conditioning, but the bathroom in particular is rather dated with the usual spots of mould at the base of the shower screen. We were very disappointed to discover there are no tea and coffee making facilities in the room and, if we want to bring a coffee up to our room it has to be in a plastic beaker. We were not allowed to bring the ceramic cups up from the restaurant or the bar. We are happy to use the bar etc to buy the coffees and other drinks when we go down to the entertainment but when wanting to sit out and chill on our balcony, reading a book maybe, it would be nice to have the option of making a coffee or tea to enjoy there. There is a lot of choice for breakfast, hot and cold and the dining area is very nice, again with really lovely staff. We can't comment on lunch and dinner as we do not have those here. The hotel is a fifteen/twenty minute walk from the beachfront, downhill. However, If the walk back is too much, a taxi is only around €7. You can pre book a shuttle with the hotel but this has to be a set time and is €10. It is very pretty at the beachfront with cafes and shops. There are sunbeds for hire, with or without parasols around €7. However the beach is all pebbles which makes getting out the sea a bit tricky! Definitely no sandcastle building here!

⭐ **1 STAR – DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY** **Absolutely appalling. One of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had.** We paid **£503 for just 3 nights** and were shocked by the condition of the room. It was **filthy, smelled bad, had mould around the air conditioning and in the bathroom, and had broken furniture**. This was not a minor issue or a room that simply needed a little attention — the overall condition was completely unacceptable for a hotel charging this amount of money. What made the experience even worse was the **complete lack of response from the hotel**. We complained through Booking.com and the hotel was given **5 days to respond**. They didn't. We were then told to give them another **24 hours**. Still nothing. No meaningful response. No apology. No explanation. No attempt to resolve the situation. After paying £503, the eventual outcome was that Booking.com credited just **£42 to our Booking.com account**. The photos we have taken show the condition of the room and speak for themselves. I genuinely cannot understand how a hotel can accept over £500 for a three-night stay and think this standard of accommodation is acceptable. **Mould, dirt, bad smells and broken furniture are not what anyone should have to put up with when paying this kind of money for a hotel room.** Management seriously needs to look at the condition of this hotel and, more importantly, how customer complaints are dealt with. **I would NOT recommend this hotel and I absolutely would not stay here again. Think very carefully before booking.**

The Sun Palace Albir Hotel has a lovely atmosphere! From the moment you arrive, you feel a sense of calm and relaxation. The staff are super friendly and helpful, making the whole experience really pleasant.

The hotel is very clean throughout but very run down. We only stop for a few days so only used it has a basic. We did room only the only choice of food at the bar was pizza or pizza baguette. There is no way near enough sun lounge but plenty of room for more there was a few argument over the sun lounge while We was there. Has for location it up a very steep hill but not far from albir center about 15 minutes work. But the hill a killer walking back up it. Don’t think it very child free too nothing really for kids other than a small pool.
