Had an amazing holiday really nice place lodges are really clean and plenty of space Food was good. And Gina at the pool bar was really friendly and helpful. Definitely would come back. My nieces and nephews love the place.

Coming to the end of our holiday so thought i would post an honest review whilst im sipping on a cocktail pool side 😎 Ill be honest and say, on arrival, I felt really deflated. Being used to quite fancy hotels in the past (not talking 5* in Dubai kind of fancy, but fancy nonetheless), I wondered where on earth I'd come to. The resort is pretty much in the middle of nowhere with construction ongoing around the area and the closest shop a good 15 minute walk away. The check in area is quite small and there was a drunk lady sat on the floor in reception. The good: Check in is 5pm, which i think is really late however I was pleasantly surprised to find our lodge was ready on arrival which was about 4pm. When we got to the lodge, my reservations about the resort started to ease. The lodge was lovely. Smelt beautiful and despite it needing a bit of TLC here and there, zero complaints from me. Plus, extra kudos from me because the aircon is just delicious! I'd read reviews of ant infestations in the lodges but were on day 5 and we havent seen one ant in or around our lodge. We have a Lion Heart Lodge with a hot tub and id also read reviews about them being cold. Okay, theyre not the 38 degrees that you might be used to in the UK but who wants to sit in a steaming hot tub when its close to 30 degrees outside? The temperature, in my opinion, is perfect for the outdoor weather. Id also read reviews about housekeeping stealing things so we locked everything away every day to prevent this, however ill be honest, after a few days, we stopped doing this and so far, weve returned to everuthing that we left so don't let hinder your decision to come here. The food here is okay. Its not 5* Michelin level standards but its alright. Its always hot and you can always find something to feast on. Yes it gets boring eating the same food day in day out, and we have skipped lunch most days as I do find lunch and tea to very samey. Breakfast is by far the best food. Especially if you are in Lion Heart accommodation - the Breakfast at the Lion Heart Restaurant is stunning. You'll read reviews about the pools being absolutely freezing too - but take this from someone who isnt a fan of a pool anyway and tends to stay away from them as a rule - i have been in them every single day so far! Obviously the initial reaction to the water might take your breath away but in comparison to the pools at the hotels weve been to for the 2 years prior to this, they're quite a lot warmer. Even in October! Youll never struggle to find a sunbed. So no need to rush to the pool for opening time. All week, weve been getting her for gone 11am and there are still plenty to choose from. The not so good: Flies! They're annoying little so and so's! And unfortunately there's no escaping them. Anywhere! Theyre in the food halls, around both of the pools. And you will spend hours of your day batting them away! Cant say ive seen them on the food though, but you best believe they will act as an extra guest at your dinner table, 3x daily! Same goes for ants. They might not be invading the lodge, but they invade my personal space on the daily. In fact, I've flicked 3 off me in the time its taken to write this review. And they'll be all over your cups if you have sweet drinks such as a strawberry daiquiri. I know this as ive just picked up my cup to an army of them on the rim helping themselves to the sweet goodness of the slush! So its been thrown away 😂. Smoking! As a none smoker, I hate nothing more than smoking around a pool. Now granted this is probably personal preference but I think there should be designated smoking areas because far too often has my nose been insulted by someone next to me sparking up. Thin walls. Unless you're a lucky spud who bags themselves a lodge on the front (although I say lucky, the footfall would drive me mad), you will have a lodge connecting to you and you can hear absolutely everything in the bedrooms. Yes, everything. Thank goodness for ear plugs! Entertainment: Urgh! There is only so many times you can enjoy circus performances and if I never see another juggler in my life, it will be too soon. Aside from the kids disco, every night since Tuesday, there has been some kind of acrobatic performers on. Same stuff, different theme, every night. And the schedule is showing the same again so were having a few early nights. The smells at the top pool: This pool is by far my fave. Comfier beds, much quieter and no queueing at the bar. However, the whole area is covered by artificial grass and at the points where its constantly wet, it smells of wet dog. Its not pleasant. Despite the not so good points, we are, and will continue to have a fab week. Would we return? Probably not. Not because we wouldn't recommend the resort because I would. I just prefer to try different places. Ill be honest, ive heard it referred to as a Spanish Butlins and I couldn't agree more. Especially because the vast majority of holiday makers are Spanish. But I do love me a good Butlins holiday back in the UK so I cant say I blame them!

Long but fair and honest review – family of 5 (2 adults, children aged 11, 4 and 1). If you book a large, busy, family-focused All Inclusive, you need to go with realistic expectations, and I think ours were set about right for what we experienced. Arrival Reception wasn’t rude, but wasn’t particularly welcoming or helpful either. We arrived late at night and were given very little information. We then spent around 15 minutes walking around with three tired children and our suitcases trying to find our lodge. Another guest eventually helped us and mentioned that guests are usually taken to their accommodation by cart. This would have been really helpful, but unfortunately wasn’t offered or even mentioned. Accommodation It was cleaned daily bar one day we got missed - fresh towels and bedding, and the mini fridge was restocked. We regularly saw the cleaning team working around the resort, so no complaints there. Sleeping arrangements worked for us, with me and our two youngest in the double bed and my husband and 11-year-old using the bunk beds. However, families with younger children may want to consider the layout, as the bunk beds are beside the main entrance and the door doesn’t lock from the inside. This wasn’t something I was comfortable with for our younger two being by the door without an adult in the room but we found an arrangement that worked for us anyway for the sake of a week. The air conditioning worked well, the hot tub was clean and we were lucky to be at the end of the street, so had very little passing noise at night. Activities & pools Nobody told us this at check-in about the app/link– we found out from other guests and had already missed the medieval show by then which we were hoping to see. Once we knew about it, though, booking things was easy enough. The main pool is loud and busy, as you’d expect from a resort this size. The foam party was a good edition and the kids absolutely loved it! Probably the highlight of the holiday for my 4 year old. We personally preferred the smaller pool towards the back of the resort. It was much quieter and had a lovely family atmosphere, with a better splash pool for our 1-year-old and a larger pool for the older two. We bought pool floats but were then told they weren’t allowed in this pool and could only be used in a very small part of the main pool, which was a bit frustrating. The kids enjoyed the skate park, arcade and outdoor park, and skate equipment was available to hire. Taxis into Benidorm were also quick and easy to get. We walked to the wee town albir easily, quickly and safely enough so happy with the location. The soft play definitely needs an upgrade it looked old and grubby, with ripped netting and exposed metal poles. Would be a great addition to the resort but I didn’t feel it was safe or clean for my younger ones. Food & Ultra All Inclusive Food wasn’t great for me. It’s standard large all-inclusive buffet food – mass-produced and repetitive. Again you know what to expect but this has the only all inclusive we have been to that we have all struggled to eat anything. Kids were happy during the day when it was mainly things like burgers, hot dogs and kebabs. We had to order/go out most nights. We paid extra for Ultra All Inclusive but, for us, it wasn’t worth it. The restaurant food felt very similar to what was available elsewhere, just in a different setting. You can also visit some of the other hotels, but we didn’t end up doing this. In hindsight, standard All Inclusive would probably have been enough for us but if you’re going to utilise all the extras then you’ll probably get your money worth. You can have pizza delivered to your lodge, but the latest slot was around 9pm and you have to be there to receive it. The kids’ mini disco doesn’t even start until 8:30pm, so the timings weren’t particularly convenient rushing back to the room if we wanted to sit by the park/arcade at night Entertainment generally started too late for us as a family with younger children. Our 11-year-old would happily have stayed up, but by then the 4 and 1-year-old were ready for some peace and quiet away from the loud and very warm entertainment room with no where to sit anyway. One thing to watch There did seem to be an issue with guests taking other people’s belongings around the pool. We had something taken within about 10 minutes of buying it. Obviously this isn’t directly the hotel’s fault, but I’d recommend keeping a close eye on your belongings. Overall We had a good holiday overall. The kids had fun, were entertained and enjoyed themselves, which was the most important thing for us. The accommodation was clean, the pools were good and there was plenty for the children to do. A week was just about the right length. We’re happy we went and certainly didn’t have a bad holiday. Personally we probably wouldn’t return with the biggest reason being the food among some of the other smaller issues. This wasn’t a cheap holiday so For the amount we paid, I think we could find somewhere a little better or simply more suited to our family next time.

Love the magic robin hood We have been 4 times and are coming back in June for 2 weeks I have a 7 year old severely autistic little boy who loves the lion heart cabins with the jacuzzi Definitely our best holiday yet

Visited for 1 week in August. Had a great time. Pools were great and the selection of original drinks made the additional cost compared to what we would usually spend worth it! No imitation spirits etc. Entertainment was ok, however the indoor area was too hot Food was good Room was good, although we did have some makeup and perfume stolen. Reported this to the reception but had no response. I've later read this happens quite a bit. It wasn't anything expensive so no harm done. Location is a put off for me next time, I like to walk about every day but it was kind of isolated, and towards the end I felt a bit trapped in Sherwood forest. 7 out of 10 holiday i'd say. Depends what your after, some will love it, some wont.
