SH Villa Gadea

This was our second visit. 23rd to 26th December . Room was acceptable . Bar service dreadful.. The food , Christmas eve 92 euros per person was disgusting....Not as described in the menu . The room was entered on Christmas day while we were at breakfast although we did not put a request on the door. The towels and bed linen not changed and just not serviced correctly . The smell of cigarette smoke outside the room was overwhelming.We think this was coming from a staff smoking area. 5 star Hotel...Certainly not . We checked out . We were refunded our 1 night stay but felt very let down. We have now made a formal complaint to the department of quality. Very sympathetic and grateful for our feedback .

Absolutely shocking and unacceptable experience at HG Villas & Spa. This is the second time this has happened. I stayed here before while pregnant and had hygiene problems even then. I gave this hotel another chance, and they failed again. We were given a room that was full of dirt and clearly not cleaned. There was poo left inside the toilet and visible dirt and coffee stains around the bathroom sink. This is not a small mistake — it is disgusting. I have photos as proof. What is truly alarming is that the hotel thought it was acceptable to give a room in this condition to guests coming to relax with a baby. No parent should have to worry about dirt, poo, and hygiene risks in a so-called 5-star hotel. The restaurant was no better — poor quality food, everything frozen, nothing fresh, completely unworthy of a luxury hotel. Avoid this place. There are many much cleaner and better 4-star hotels that offer a far superior experience. I will not return and strongly warn others to stay elsewhere.

We reserved in July, our second visit , to stay over 3 nights 23 -26th December . We paid on arrival 92 euros per person for Christmas Eve dinner and lunch 75 euros per person Christmas day lunch . The food and service on Christmas eve was absolutely terrible ...food inedible. Certainly not 5* . In view of this we decided to leave the hotel on the morning of 25th and return home . Our Christmas was ruined . I have written two e-mails to the hotel...2 days ago and no response . Why is your customer service so bad ? On leaving we were refunded the pre paid stay on 25th and the pre paid Christmas lunch . However , we feel very let down by the hotel . No apology for our disappointment or explanation as to the reason why the food was so bad . Before this visit we reserved for June but now we will cancel this trip and find a hotel worthy of 5 * rating. Please respond to my e mails .That might be a good idea . Lots more to say but prefer to do this by e mail .

Disappointed due to a wedding party staying at the hotel. This hotel was not at all as I'd imagined. It was not a peaceful tranquil setting, ruined by groups of people standing in the pool drinking, would never return or recommend. I am still waiting on a reply from SH Hotels. Guests should be informed this is a wedding venue.

We stayed at SH Villa Gadea for four nights as part of a wedding party. While the hotel itself is set in a beautiful location and the service overall was good, our experience unfortunately fell short of what you’d expect from a 5-star property. Our room was advertised as a double, but in reality, it was two twin beds that slid apart with the slightest movement – not ideal for comfort. On arrival, I discovered there was no iron in the room. After calling reception, I was sent a tabletop ironing board and a barely functioning iron. I managed to get by for the first two days, but on the morning of the wedding, the iron had mysteriously disappeared from the room. With a creased shirt and limited time, I tried calling reception, only to find the phones weren’t working. I had to go down to reception in person, where I was told the hotel only has five irons in total, despite being rated as 5-star. To make matters worse, there was little effort made to resolve the issue or reassure me. This was a stressful and disappointing experience, especially considering the occasion. In most 5-star hotels, basic amenities such as an iron are standard in every room, and better customer service would have been expected in handling the situation. That said, I would like to highlight one member of staff in particular – Patry. She was absolutely fantastic throughout our stay: approachable, helpful, and always smiling. She really stood out, and it was a pleasure to see her again at checkout. If all staff had her level of professionalism and customer-facing skills, our stay would have been much more enjoyable. Overall, while there were positives, the lack of basic amenities and inconsistent service left us underwhelmed, especially given the hotel’s 5-star rating.
