This was our second time to this hotel after having a great experience under the Aluasoul brand. Sorry to say that it wasn’t the same experience under the new Pierre & Vacances chain. Some of the refurbed area looked very nice but it needs a lot of improvement to earn its 4 star status. I think this is the worse 4 star hotel, we have stayed in. First, here’s the good- Great location Very good breakfast Nice sheltered pool area Spacious refurbished sea view room with good power shower. The bad points which probably mean we won’t be back unless things improve- Whoever heard of a 4* hotel that can’t offer a courtesy room for guests to shower and change when departing on a late flight- we were told everything was full so we could change in the reception toilets (no access to shower) Very slow bar service as during the day the two bars (pool bar and the lobby bar on the floor below) were manned by one person and you had to ring the bell for them to come running up or down, depending on which bar we or they were at. I was told by the bar lady that they were short staffed. On the afternoon of our departure my husband fancied a coffee at the lobby bar while we waited for our transfer but although it was all lit up, I was told the bar wasn’t open and we’d have to have coffee at the pool bar. On our last day, yesterday, we were relaxing around the pool when loud music started pumping from somewhere. We discovered one of the guests (young girl) had deposited her phone speaker in a public area for all to hear her playlist. She was clearly drunk and was in the pool with a cocktail and a man was sitting at the pool’s edge smoking, with his cigarette dangling over the water. It was a very noisy and tense atmosphere and nothing was said to them from the bar lady that could clearly see what was going on. This as supposed to be adults only but we saw 2 children in the pool on two separate occasions. I’m not sure about the policy on age but the eldest child looked around 14. Much improvement is needed.
Clean room with comfortable bed. Limited space in bathroom for toiletries and no mirror on dressing table. Staff pleasant and helpful. Close to center of town. Uber to beach Very effective.
We stayed here for 3nights, hotel itself is very nice. Pool area lovely, reasonably priced food and drink at the bar . Staff very friendly When we arrived at our room on floor nine we found that the balcony door handle was only held on by two screws and was coming off. The rooms are very dated and do not look like they do in the pictures. One part of the ceiling tile was completely lifted up and the smell of sewage from the bathroom was absolutely disgusting. We complained to the reception and she moved just rooms, apart from that we had a really good stay at the hotel it’s a great location right In the middle the town. unfortunately due to the room situation we wouldn’t be staying here again such a shame as that really let it down.
Great location- so close to everything (bars, shops & resturants). Bus just outside the hotel to La Carihuela if you don't fancy the 20 min walk to that area. Really enjoyed our stay here. Receptionist was so nice and welcoming on arrival. Pool area was lovely also. Room had sea view and was very clean. All that we needed for a fantastic break.
Our party of four booked a one week stay with bed and breakfast. On our first night the students in a room between us were partying until 4.00am until we managed to get someone from the hotel to go to their room. The walls of the hotel are very thin anyway but the amount of students arriving by the hour and the volume of noise was horrendous. On top of that, breakfast the following morning was like a very loud youth hostel and it was impossible to find a quiet table among the herd of students. Enough was enough so we asked about moving to another hotel but the options and extra costs involved were not feasible. Thankfully Alison, our rep, negotiated better rooms for us on the 10th floor which didn't appear to house said students. The hotel itself is very clean and modern with nice rooms and great showers. It is in a fantastic location and the breakfast has a good selection of food. We were very grateful to Alison and the hotel staff for helping us to relocate but I do feel very strongly that people should be warned that this hotel is predominantly populated by groups of Spanish sports students. If being amongst lively, volatile students is your thing then you will love it here. However, if you still fancy going but prefer quieter surroundings I would recommend booking a higher floor and maybe take breakfast out.
