Hyde Ibiza

We used to love cala llonga beach for it's peace and quiet. The mondrian and hyde blast music onto it daily from around 3 to 7pm. There's plenty of party beaches around ibiza and we used to like that this one was quiet. Staff are not bothered, pool costs 140 euros per couple to use their ball beds refunded against food and drink but you hardly want to do that daily for pizzas. Be prepared for the daily hold on your credit card which some may not be able to afford. They said it could take up to 3 weeks to release it on leaving. We changed room 3 times due to poor view and noise and paid an upgrade, looking at reviews this seems to happen a lot and I wonder if it is deliberate by the hotel to get the upgrade money. Vip rooms are not special, this doesn't feel like a 5 star hotel at all. Can't speak for the restaurants on site as they didn't seem to offer much for vegetarians. Eat at the local restaurants in cala llonga which are very good and to make it up to the locals for having their beach ruined by noise pollution every summer afternoon.

We stay in Cala Llonga once a year usually in the Palladium on the other side of the bay but since The hotel (Hyde) had just undergone a big makeover we decided to give it a try..... We booked a deluxe but on arrival it was above the street carport and noisy so we asked to be moved... This is where the fun really started, they would upgrade us but for a better room poolside(we will come to that later) but at a cost to us of €45 a day which we were tired so agreed too. The room was the same but overlooking what we thought was the Hyde pool but it was actually The Mondrian hotels next door which you could use but cost €140 which is ridiculous and they operate a orange(Mondrian) and green(Hyde) them and us policy yes they say its a meal voucher but you are then forced to eat on site.for a newly renovated hotel there was obvious signs of wear and tear in the apartment already. The shower had chips well chunks of paint everywhere and the sink tap was broken away from the surface. Long story short it was grim but we wanted an afternoon nap but come 3oclock a DJ started blasting out what he thought were tunes! We managed two days in this room but the constant noise from above was excruciating it sounded like high heels scratching the floor at all hours. We complained after a loud bang shut off the electric in our room to which we asked for a different room, Ah your below the restaurant they said thats why...Not much of an upgrade I said and we decided to leave and asked to check out,the manager said they would sort it and had our back ? Three hours later they said we were being upgraded to The Suit at no extra cost. Now the suit was very nice but the toilet seat was hanging off and didn't stay up and the previous guest had ripped the google chromecast out the TV and the WIFI refused to connect. We called reception but no one came. We did have a very nice balcony it was a shame we did Not in the whole week of staying have our sheets or towels changed. No coffee pod refill so the two they provided went the first day. The free water tins we only had the first day. On the plus side the breakfast was very good with a huge selection to eat of hot cold produce. When we booked out we asked to speak to the manager but they were busy as we wanted some form of reduction for lack of services and just plain lack of house keeping.. when I came back they had already booked us out and charged us the extra for the room, I asked to speak again to manager and the guy shrugged his shoulders.. In summary the lift in reception was broken,when you found a lift you couldn't get in due to staff and cages using them. The inside of one life had a smashed panel hanging off plus the wallpaper it was lined with was badly scratched my guess is by the cleaners,the walls everywhere had dents scratches and just looked tired. The last thing was being told to move so a film crew or Influencers were trying to film there silly little videos,this happened numerous times both in reception by the pool and the lobby.. Oh I know the cleaners have to clean service the pool but 6am in the morning their loud chatter woke us up. A big issue is the sliding doors to the balcony in all three rooms we stayed in...just doesn't cut out Any noise,they must be the cheapest door panels ever which would also explain the broken handles in two of three rooms,if the Suit door closed there were no handles on the other side!! Luckily my wife was still inside or we would have been trapped. Ibiza and Cala Llonga is great but this hotel needs to treat its guests better and by the read of other reviews listen to the feedback. I don't expect a reply and certainly would not stay here again. We have stayed in many Mondrian hotels and never had such a poor stay. Oh by the way The jetty is Not "private" it serves the whole of Cala Llonga we used it many times before and the local sea boats use it to ferry across the island.

Myself and my wife stayed here for 5 nights - the hotel is beautiful- rooms clean and beds comfy! We’re had a balcony we could watch the sunset on! The location of the hotel is just stunning and the hotel has such beautiful views!! Beach and ferry port just at the bottom of a few steps out of the hotel! Easy access to Ibiza town - the hippie market and other beach’s! Lots of cute place to eat near by but the food in the hotel itself is amazing!! The staff at the hotel were all so helpful, smiley and polite!! Especially Orlando and Djenna! Also the tall waiter on the evening service and the lady on the front desk to the restaurant but we did not get their names! Perfect stay! Definitely will come back. The day we did the Bali beds it was chilled Ibiza music and on other days there was a dj playing! Couldn’t hear any noise from the rooms or if you chose to go the bungalow area or to the beach

Stay well clear Horrible hotel staff where very rude Hidden charges can’t use 2 of the pools Unless you pay £75 each person Have to pay £50 each person per day for deposit for using the hotel This is not a 4 star plus 3 star at most Air con didnt work properly Mouldy sun beds Daughter caught a nasty skin infection of the sun beds Leaks in the restaurant and work men working while eating Ants everywhere Trays off food was left all day around the pool so flies ants etc everywhere Didnt give you clean towels just folded up the unclean wet ones Reception staff where horrid and rude not helpful Website give you completely the wrong information Very expensive to eat or drink Soda drinks where flat and cocktails a joke This holiday was quite expensive And the hotel ripped you off anyway they could Would never go back And we are complaining to jet2 about it all Loads More to list about this dirty rude obnoxious disgusting hotel (I should say bed and breakfast) Please stay well clear Horrible hotel

We was rather amperhensive about staying at the Hyde,previous reviews were not very good.We had a great time,the hotel is amazing,the rooms are very luxurious and so clean,we enjoyed our breakfast everyday,so much choice,all the staff we met from reception, catering,cleaners,bar and pool staff, were all so friendly and helpful.There is alot of confusion about the despoist to pay at check in,we couldn't afford to pay out that much money,Rachel at reception was so understanding and helpful,got it reduced down alot for us,this really needs to be advertised more clearly,saying all that we had a great week at the Hyde,thank you to all of you.
