Nereida

We stayed here for 4 nights with our two young children and were very pleased with our stay despite having read some average reviews before we went. The location of the hotel is amazing, the sunsets are spectacular. We paid for a sea view which I would recommend and stayed in room 216, the sunset from our balcony was fab! We could also see the evening entertainment from our balcony which was nice as we were back in the room early with having young kids. Rooms are basic, air con worked. Sofa bed could be a bit more comfortable. We were all inclusive and although there is not a big selection, what is there is very tasty and salad items fresh. Mexican night was especially nice and more variety! What stood out most for us was the service from restaurant staff at meal times. It was honestly amazing and made our holiday! Especially Christina, her daughter and one of the other younger women who made such a fuss of our kids it was lovely! We oooked forward to seeing them each day. Bar staff were also very friendly and accommodating especially older man and English woman! We had a warm welcome from reception staff on arrival. Would stay here again.

We recently stayed at Aparthotel Nereida in Ibiza and, overall, had a mixed experience. There are definitely some positives. The hotel has lovely sea views, and having a balcony with every room is a great feature. The location is also really convenient, with bars and shops nearby, and you can get a water taxi to San Antonio, which is a really nice way to travel. However, there were a few things that we felt could be improved, especially considering we stayed all-inclusive. The all-inclusive package was quite limited. Slushies, iced coffees and branded ice creams weren’t included, which was disappointing. The snack bar was also very repetitive, offering essentially onion rings, crisps and chicken strips each day. The food at breakfast was another area that could have been better. The same options were available every morning, and there was no chef making fresh omelettes or pancakes, which you often get at other all-inclusive hotels. The facilities themselves felt like they needed a little updating. The bar was quite outdated, the pool was a bit dirty, and the shower curtain in our room was old and had a damp smell, which wasn’t particularly pleasant. Unfortunately, our experience with the staff was mixed too. The lady on reception with short grey hair was quite rude and abrupt when we spoke to her, which made us feel unwelcome. Entertainment was also very limited. There were only two nights of evening entertainment during our stay, and there was no entertainment specifically for children, so families might find there isn’t a huge amount to do at the hotel in the evenings. That being said, the location, sea views and balconies are definite highlights, and the hotel could be much better with some updates and improvements to the all-inclusive offering and entertainment. Overall, we enjoyed our time in Ibiza, but based on our experience, there are a few areas where Aparthotel Nereida could improve.

I was extremely disappointed with my stay at Aparthotel Nereida Ibiza. From the moment we checked in, the room was clearly not clean. There were stains on the bathroom curtain, the room had a strong musty smell, and it felt like it hadn't been properly cleaned before our arrival. To make matters worse, the bedsheets had holes in them, which is completely unacceptable for any hotel. The overall cleanliness was very poor, and the condition of the room made it difficult to relax and enjoy our holiday. I expected much better standards of hygiene and maintenance. Unfortunately, this experience fell well below expectations, and I would not recommend staying here unless significant improvements are made to the cleanliness and upkeep of the rooms.

We stayed here as a group of girls. Overall, I wouldn’t stay here again. The location wasn’t ideal, as we had to get taxis to most places, which became quite expensive. Breakfast was included and was okay – there was always something available to choose from. The rooms were quite dated, and the pull-out bed was terrible. The mattress was full of broken springs, making it very uncomfortable to sleep on. We asked for another mattress, but instead we were only offered an extra quilt, which didn’t solve the problem. Unfortunately, because of the location and the poor condition of the rooms, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

I don’t leave reviews often, but this was a must, and I honestly believe these 5-star reviews are fake as nobody in their right mind could rate this hotel a 5. This was the worst hotel that I have ever stayed at. We arrived to a room where the aircon did not work. We reported it straight away, and somebody came up and said that it was working and that the sun just hits that room all day. Is that not the whole point of aircon? We closed the doors and curtains, but got back that night to a room impossible to sleep in. We went to the reception and the lady said they couldn’t do anything that night and gave us a fan. That helped the tiniest bit in the bedroom, but the sofa bed was impossible to sleep on. In the morning we returned to reception, and they moved our room. We moved all of our things, and it felt the slightest bit better at the time. We got back that evening to—you guessed it—another unbearable room. We kept the fan they gave us and just had to somehow deal with it. To add to it, the sofa bed was so hard that I may as well have slept on the floor. We overheard a lot of people at the reception complaining at the same thing, and got speaking to a couple that had just been given our original room, and they had a young child. The father ended up sleeping on some cushions on the balcony so his wife and child could have the fan. I dread to think what families with babies were going through in the rooms where the air con did not work. A couple of days later, we realised how dirty the pool was becoming. It was briefly cleaned maybe every 3 days, but the bits floating in it and the grime on the floor were getting worse. The area surrounding the pool was not much better. And to be nitpicky, the sunbeds were so uncomfortable. The pool just got worse as the week went on. The breakfast was fairly good, although the eggs were cold most days and needed warming up in the microwave. Now, we thought the staff were overall pretty friendly and as helpful as they could be without the aircon situation. Until… the lady at the bar, Claire, who had been nice until then, noticed my niece and her friend (7 and 5 years old) spraying water on the window to the bar. Claire wagged her finger in the window, and the girls started giggling, thinking she was joking. Next thing you know, she came out with window wipers and told them to clean it. We also thought that she was joking, so we told the girls to do it playfully. They did a little, and we expected it to end there. Then she came back out with towels and persisted in telling the girls to clean, and told the parents of my niece's friend that they should be cleaning too. They replied that it’s only water and that they are only children. The pool was right next to the window at the end of the day, yet Claire still argued. We couldn’t believe it! A couple overheard and said that they had been coming 3 years running and that Claire could be very hot and cold and switch in an instant. Final note, the room wasn’t properly cleaned on a single day. The bin wasn’t emptied once, and there were bits on the floor. Overall, a terrible stay where the heat in the rooms basically ruined our holiday. You go on holiday to relax, and we barely slept for 10 nights.
