Romeos Ibiza

Fun theme hotel, good for those that are still a few years behind and think instagram selfies are still cool. It shows its age - however, overall it's' still fun. Yes the limo is ancient, the bathrooms are so lilliputian that you literally can not turn around, the air-conditioning is weak, and the veil in the wedding shack is full of holes - but this sort of lends to it's run-down Route 66 charm. I kind of luv it all - just to fall asleep on the red pool-deck, then wake to everyone posing for each other; 'look at me' - no - 'look at me' they all say as they slowly pace the hotel wearing disco balls and glitter. There's a vending machine out front that sells two rows of fake eye lashes - Ironic. However, it's also ironic that I'm not sure the hotel knows it's ironic. There's a private party room that smells like you've wandered into Ibizas biggest cigar. Somehow, it all works. Go on the cheap days if value matters. If your selfie tripod falls in the pool - don't worry, it will dry out (ours did). BTW - it's like.. no-where, so maybe best if you have transportation. Otherwise there's one strip nearby where u can party and karaoke with the budget folks that are this far out for bargain-Ibiza.

Romeo’s Ibiza — quirky and clean, but room for improvement We arrived around 1pm and our room wasn’t ready, which was fair enough as we were early. The lady on reception was friendly and helpful, and we had a nice bite to eat in the diner while we waited. The hotel has a quirky 1950s American feel, and our room looked lovely at first. However, once we started unpacking, we realised how impractical it was for two people staying for 11 days. There were no drawers or shelves and very little space, so we had to leave much of our clothing in our suitcases. Even the sink was in the entrance passageway. Cable TV was advertised, but we could only find one English-language channel, and we couldn’t access Netflix. Although we enjoyed plenty of nights out, sometimes we wanted to relax in the room and watch something. More English channels or access to streaming would make a big difference. The pool area was relaxed, but the loungers weren’t suitable for lying on your front, the pool was absolutely freezing, and the hot tub wasn’t working during our stay. A real positive was being able to use the sister hotels. We visited Grand Paradiso and Los Felices and much preferred their comfortable daybeds, pools and waiter service. The hotel, rooms and communal areas were generally very clean. However, some pasta left on our balcony remained there for eight days, suggesting that the balcony floor wasn’t being cleaned. Our experience with reception was mixed. The lady was always friendly and helpful, but the male receptionist was much less accommodating. We asked him to book a taxi for a restaurant reservation. After around 35 minutes, we checked and were told the booking was “on hold”. When we asked if he could call to find out what was happening, he offered us the number instead. We don’t speak Spanish and needed some help, but none was offered, and we missed our reservation. The hotel also advertised a 24/7 mini-mart, with instructions to ask at reception. When I asked to buy lemonade at around 11pm, I was told to go to a shop, which was disappointing. We upgraded for the final three days for £100, which felt worthwhile as the room was much bigger. Unfortunately, we still had the same issue with the TV channels. Overall, Romeo’s is quirky, generally clean, relaxed and in a good location. Some staff were lovely, but the lack of storage, pool facilities and inconsistent service let it down. I wouldn’t stay here again, although I would consider one of the sister hotels.

A little piece of my heart will always be at Romeos ❤️ We first discovered Romeos a few years ago when it came to our rescue after what had been a disastrous honeymoon and ever since then, we’ve found ourselves coming back year after year. I genuinely feel like I’ve left a little part of my heart at this place. There’s just something about Romeos. It’s fun, relaxed and chilled, with such a lovely atmosphere. It never feels overly formal or pretentious. You can completely switch off, enjoy yourself and just feel at home. The staff are a huge part of what makes it so special. They are genuinely lovely, welcoming and friendly, and after returning several times, it’s so nice to be recognised and remembered. That personal touch really makes a difference. We’ve just returned from another stay and, once again, had such a lovely time. Thank you to everyone at Romeos for continuing to make it somewhere we want to come back to every year. Some hotels you stay at and enjoy. Others become places you feel genuinely connected to. For us, Romeos is definitely the latter. Already looking forward to coming back. ❤️

I have never left a negative review for a hotel but feel I must warn others. The aircon is APPALLING!!!. We couldn't get any sleep due to being too hot and having a shower was a waste of time because you were sweating again 10 seconds later. The staff did try to solve the problem by supplying a portable aircon unit. However. this meant they had left our very accessible patio door open all day whilst we were out. It was also way too noisy to have on at night. We had paid a lot of money for a 3 night stay and were offered a free night at a later date as compensation. As we will not be returning to Ibiza this was obviously useless. Please do not use this hotel as if you do have any complaints (and you will because of the aircon) they will be very apologetic but will not compensate you.

Ok first of all there's no denying it's a very stylish hotel. Also the staff are super friendly. But what really let's it down is the practicalities... The room literally had one rail and no other storage. No drawers, no side tables, etc. And no full length mirror which was not ideal for getting ready. Would have loved to rate it higher but we were constantly tripping over our suitcases and struggling to get ready so sadly it's just 3 stars from us.
