právě se vrátil z dovolené. Zaměstnanci hotelu jsou všichni tak přátelští a ochotní, jídla byly opravdu velmi chutné a velmi rozmanité. Připomínka kuchařů, kuchař. Bez komárů v našem pokoji v noci by pobyt byl dokonalý. Velmi pěkná lokalita, hezké město s velmi moderní architekturou, dlouhé písečné pláže a smaragdové moře a asi 26 C na začátku května. Ještě jednou komplimenty hotelového personálu, děkuji. . .

Tropicana Aparthotel, Cala Millor – A Deeply Disappointing Experience Overall Rating: 2/5 After spending nearly two weeks at Tropicana Aparthotel in Cala Millor, I can honestly say this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we have had on Mallorca. As a family that regularly visits the island and has stayed in numerous hotels and aparthotels across different price ranges, we feel well positioned to compare standards of accommodation, food quality, facilities and guest services. Unfortunately, the reality of this property falls far short of what is presented in the official photographs and marketing materials. Guests and Hotel Atmosphere The hotel appears to cater primarily to one specific Western European nationality, and this has a noticeable impact on the overall guest experience. Staff members communicated fluently in that language but often struggled with basic English communication. Throughout our stay, despite being corrected multiple times, staff repeatedly referred to our daughter as a "beautiful boy." While this may seem minor, it illustrates the overall lack of attention to guests who are not part of the hotel's primary customer base. The atmosphere in the hotel felt outdated in more ways than one. Not only is the infrastructure old and poorly maintained, but management seems to tolerate behaviours that would not be accepted in many modern family-oriented resorts. Smoking Everywhere This was one of the biggest issues during our stay. Cigarette smoke was everywhere. During evening entertainment, families with young children were expected to sit among groups of guests smoking continuously. Large clouds of smoke regularly drifted far beyond the designated bar areas and into spaces where children were playing and families were gathering. The complete lack of enforcement or consideration for non-smokers was astonishing. It felt as if the comfort of smoking guests was prioritised above the comfort and health of everyone else. For a property promoting itself as family-friendly, this was simply unacceptable. Noise and Lack of Enforcement Another recurring problem was the behaviour of certain groups of guests who openly ignored quiet-hour rules. Late-night drinking sessions, loud conversations, shouting and smoking frequently continued until the early hours of the morning. This occurred on multiple occasions throughout our stay. Whether due to lack of staffing or lack of willingness, hotel management appeared either unable or unwilling to enforce basic standards of behaviour. Families looking for a peaceful holiday should be aware of this. All Inclusive Drinks – Misleading at Best The drinks package deserves special mention for all the wrong reasons. The cocktail menu initially appears impressive. However, it quickly becomes apparent that most cocktails are not prepared by bartenders at all. Guests are served pre-mixed products from dispensing machines connected to industrial cartons hidden beneath the bar. Watching cartons of ready-made cocktail mixture being fed directly into a machine completely destroys any illusion of quality. The cocktails were artificial, overly sweet and far below what should be expected even from a budget all-inclusive package. Beer and wine were the only alcoholic drinks that appeared reasonably fresh and drinkable. Adding insult to injury, a proper coffee cost an additional €3 despite paying for an All Inclusive package. Pool Areas and Facilities The outdoor pool areas are badly in need of renovation. Many parts of the pool infrastructure show significant wear and tear. Some pool entry points contained damaged and sharp surfaces that could potentially pose a safety risk, especially for children. The overall condition of the outdoor facilities feels neglected and outdated. To make matters worse, grounds maintenance often started around 7:00 a.m., with lawnmowers and maintenance equipment waking guests long before they intended to start their day. The indoor pool and fitness room may as well not exist. During almost two weeks of staying at the hotel, I never once saw either facility open or in use. Location and Layout The hotel complex consists of several buildings separated by public roads. Although there is a police station nearby, we repeatedly witnessed dangerous driving behaviour in the surrounding area. Vehicles frequently travelled at excessive speeds around corners and near pedestrian areas. For families with young children, this is far from ideal. Room Condition – Completely Unacceptable While the apartment itself was reasonably spacious, its technical condition was shocking. On arrival day we experienced electrical problems that required multiple visits from maintenance personnel. Bathroom lighting remained non-functional until the third day of our holiday. One of the electrical sockets beside the bed never worked at all. The room showed extensive signs of neglect: - Damaged wall panels - Worn and deteriorating surfaces - Poor-quality repairs - Aging furniture - General signs of long-term underinvestment The only visible renovation effort appeared to be a quick and careless coat of white paint applied over existing problems. This property desperately needs a full refurbishment rather than cosmetic touch-ups. Cleanliness Housekeeping standards were inconsistent. During weekdays, cleaning was generally acceptable. During weekends, however, service quality noticeably declined. There were occasions when towels were not replaced and toilet paper was not replenished. More concerning was the visible dirt and sand accumulated in areas that appeared not to have been properly cleaned for a very long time. Around furniture bases and kitchen fixtures, debris from previous guests was clearly visible. The hotel was not filthy, but neither was it genuinely clean. Food Quality – The Biggest Disappointment Food quality was, without question, the greatest failure of this hotel. The buffet initially creates a positive impression because of the apparent variety. After several days, however, the reality becomes obvious. Most of the menu is built around low-cost carbohydrate fillers with minimal flavour, poor seasoning and very inconsistent preparation. Much of the food was: - Bland - Overcooked - Dry - Poorly seasoned - Repetitive The fries deserve special mention. I genuinely struggle to understand how a hotel can consistently serve fries that are simultaneously soft, stale and seemingly reheated multiple times. Basic breakfast items regularly ran out long before service ended. On one occasion, milk was unavailable approximately 45 minutes before breakfast service closed. Products such as Nutella appeared sporadically and were often not replenished. Particularly concerning was the yoghurt station. It frequently appeared that fresh yoghurt was being poured on top of older leftovers rather than replacing the contents entirely, raising obvious questions about freshness and food handling standards. Desserts were another disappointment. The better options disappeared quickly and were rarely replenished. What remained in abundance were low-quality bakery products. Many desserts served in small cups appeared to consist of leftover mixtures covered with a layer of artificial whipped topping. Fresh fruit selection was one of the few bright spots in the restaurant. Health Concerns The most serious issue concerns food quality and hygiene. During our stay, both I and members of my family experienced repeated stomach problems after eating at the hotel. While I cannot definitively prove the cause, the frequency of these incidents became concerning enough that we eventually stopped relying on the hotel's food despite having paid for All Inclusive. Instead, we chose to eat at highly rated local restaurants and purchase food from Mercadona and Lidl for our own peace of mind. A situation where guests avoid the food they have already paid for should be a major warning sign for hotel management. Entertainment Team – The One Bright Spot The only consistently positive aspect of the hotel was the animation team. The young staff members were enthusiastic, friendly and genuinely excellent with children. They clearly worked hard despite limited resources, outdated equipment and poor sound systems. Likewise, restaurant service staff were generally polite and hardworking. Unfortunately, dedicated employees can only do so much when the underlying product itself falls so far below expectations. Final Verdict Tropicana Aparthotel is a property that urgently requires substantial investment, major refurbishment and a complete review of its food and guest experience standards. What is presented online and what guests actually receive are two very different things. The hotel feels trapped in another era, both physically and operationally. Smoking is tolerated almost everywhere, facilities are outdated, rooms are deteriorating, food quality is poor and management appears unwilling to address recurring guest issues. Had I known the true condition of this property before booking, I would never have chosen to stay here. For the price paid, I genuinely feel that the overall value received was far below reasonable expectations. I would not return, I would not recommend it to friends or family, and I strongly encourage prospective guests to research alternative options in Cala Millor before making a reservation.
