Canyamel Classic

Do not listen to any bad reviews. I cannot fault anything about the hotel and the staff. The rooms are spacious and clean. The food is fantastic, a huge variety so there is something for everyone morning lunch and dinner. The pool is wonderful and lots of variety of drinks in the bar. I have to say the staff are 5*. Each and every staff member are so lovely and very welcoming. A special mention goes to the animator ‘Mo’. He is so genuine, funny and gets involved with everybody, always full of life. The life guard Frank is 10/10 also gets involved with everybody and is funny. 2 romanian girls Dalia & Andra absolutely brilliant too, so polite and pleasant all the time. The whole staff are great tbh. Lastly there is entertainment every two nights which is a result. 1 minute away from the beach and if you’re lucky enough to be on the front, you have great seafront views. We Had the most best time here and we will forever remember everyone that works here and the whole experience in itself. Thank you Canyamel classic.

Just visited for a 4 night stay with my partner and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I think it’s important to keep in mind that this is a budget holiday and not the Ritz. The room was a good size and clean, the air conditioning was very effective and the pool/bar area was lovely. Our only gripes were that the woman who checked us in seemed a little lacklustre and failed to mention the need for a card for the safe, or the fact we’d need to rent a cup from reception, meaning we had to revisit reception multiple times on our first day. Every other member of staff was absolutely lovely, especially Mohammed (sorry if that’s spelt wrong), the hotel’s entertainment manager. A true asset to the hotel. The food was perfectly fine, although more geared towards German tourists. The only difficulty is that only some of the food is labelled, and even then, it’s in German or Spanish. An English vegetarian/vegan would find it very hard to work out what food is available for them, especially when they seem to put random bits of meat in otherwise vegetarian dishes like salads. Overall though the pool and food were good, and the hotel is just a few minutes walk from Canyamel beach. The area is stunning and we’re very happy with what we received considering what we paid.

THIS IS NOT A 4 STAR HOTEL! The hotel was more welcoming to the germans than the brits.. it was obvious when we arrived that we were made to feel unwelcome because of our nationlity.. we did not feel like we had any support from staff, they pretended to not speak English when we made a complaint and the food was catered for Germans so I couldn't eat much. My partner complained one evening because the chicken leg was undercooked.. the waitress took it away without any sight of sorry and spoke to the chef who came out and all we could hear was shouting and swearing about us being English.. we are Polish, shame on him.. When we did complain about a leak and black mould from the air con in the bathroom, the leak was sorted about 7 hours later when the maintenance person got there and there was enough water to flood the bathroom (which was cleaned) but the black mould was essentialy just wiped off and we were not taken seriously with our complaints of it and remained in the room. The entertainment was very poor, and when it was it was catered to Germans! Majority of the staff were rude and I learnt that the Spanish dont like Brits so we felt unwelcome the whole time.. however we made the most of it, and as long as we stayed away from other tourists and locals it was nice. 2 stars at best, THIS IS NOT A 4 STAR HOTEL!

This was my first ever holiday abroad and I must say it was such an incredible experience. The transfer over to the hotel was so quick and easy. The staff at the hotel were super lovely and helped get us sorted straight away. They even let us have the lunch when we arrived before it stopped at 2pm. The food at the buffet was out of this world. They were freshly made and had different menus each day, there’s also a grill area where the chef cooked different fresh meat. There was lots of food to go round. The hotel room was clean, and the air conditioning made the room super cool throughout the day. We had a balcony room and the view of the sea and the other buildings was so beautiful. The pool area was also clean, there were a lot of sun-beds and also a bar. The all inclusive bar was so good, you can have as many drinks as you want until 11pm, and the staff use a lot of alcohol when they make your drink, so thats a bonus! All inclusive includes different cocktails, soft drinks, spirits, wine and beer, there’s a good list to choose from. The entertainment was also wonderful. I was reading reviews about this place and can tell some reviews are from a lot of picky people, and that some of the bad reviews aren’t that true, as I thought it was a lovely hotel for adults only. Even when people are out late getting drunk, they are really mindful of those who are in their rooms asleep. There’s a lot of German people that come to this area, and they are also really lovely. The breakfast was okay, but there’s wasn’t much variety and the sausages were mainly Frankfurt which isn’t our favourite but there was fresh fruits, yogurt, cereal, pancakes that are made in front of you, and a selection of deli meets, which was really nice! I’m glad I chose this hotel as it is genuinely really lovely. My partner even said he really enjoyed the buffet food and said it was the best food he’s had, as he’s been to different hotels abroad before. Definitely go here, there is a lot you can do outside the hotel too, and you can go to different parts of the island and explore a lot. The beach is right in front of the hotel. Watching the sunrise the last few days was magnificent. You also have the housekeeper come clean the room everyday. Overall I would absolutely recommend this place! Terrible hotel!It’s honestly not worth booking.The room we had was covered with ants.There was an awful smell.The room had dirty marks everywhere and cracks around(even in ceiling)I had experienced uncooked food which I took to the reception to report and all I got was “sorry”.Limited food choices pretty much the same everyday.Throughout the night either side of our room had constant banging.I also had someone knocking at my door one night at 1:30am.I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.The worst hotel I’ve ever been to
