We Arrived at this hotel around 10pm on Weds 20th May. check in was swift & first impressions were really high. Lovely clean modern looking hotel & rooms, quiet, and peaceful!! There were 4 small welcomed complimentary bottles of water in mini fridge & pool bar was luckily still open. However, things went down hill from there. I highly recommend that if you are going to be staying at this hotel in the next few days or weeks, and wanting to sleep in later than 7am & wanting to use the hotels pool facilities and being able to fully relax, I would suggest finding an alternative location unless you like the sound of very loud disruptive construction noise (such as drilling and digging by a huge digger) all day long until nearly 5:45pm. Not the hotels fault but something that is highly unacceptable and we should have been made aware of before checking in. And will be logging a complaint with jet2 holidays. Thursday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (morning we left) this noise & work carried on. We complained to reception on Thursday but was told there was nothing they can do & was down to the local council. Spoke with jet2 & was told it was urgent works but it didn’t seem that urgent if they could stop for the Fri- sun in between. Same first full day we were by the pool & had taken a can of drink to have. A very miserable lifeguard came over to say you’re not allowed outside drinks. I said ok, will know for next time. Instead of me wasting said drink I continued to finish it but again was confronted with such rudeness that I cannot drink it & should drink it elsewhere. I couldn’t believe how rude this guy was. I reported this to reception, but again no acknowledge from management. There is a letter to management in the room I had filled in about the issues so hopefully these will be addressed. Service at pool bar could be quite slow at times. And I was served after some Spanish people even though I had been at the bar waiting ages before them. This really infuriated me. A second time we stayed for lunch, a burger came out 8 minutes before any other food we had ordered so I took it back to the bar and asked for it to be fresh with the rest of the order but I still received the same one as it was obviously the same bun! Restaurant service also slightly lacking. One round of drinks before you eat and then sent the bill over, food very repetitive and some nights very under whelming. And some questionable cooking of meat products a few that looked a bit raw/ rare for my liking but some parts of it were tasty & was always something I liked if not that much choice. Breakfast also same offering each day. But always something to enjoy. Shout out to Maurice the entertainer. The kids loved him. He did a great aqua aerobics class & the pool was full & made light of the construction noise for half hour. Also my son, who is neuro diverse sat with him for at least 2 hours drawing & playing chess, very grateful to him for letting him hyper focus on these for so long before saying he needed to go off for his siesta. Also did a great mini disco for the kids, great fun & full of energy! Another Shout out to Nuheul at the bar in the evening, really friendly & interested in making conversations. There is a lovely harbour nearby and lots of lovely places to eat nearby, but unfortunately this holiday was completely ruined by the noise opposite, not being offered any sort of alternative and rudeness of some staff. Shame as it could be utterly wonderful as the facilities are so lovely! Especially with the park, pitch, and kids pool included for the small Ones to enjoy while you ‘could’ relax!
Lovely family friendly hotel. Friendly staff, clean and close to a beautiful cove beach. Plus plenty of loungers so no problem with lounger hogs! Great bar. Entertainment was varied and the kids liked the pool activities and football. Very good food. More vegetarian options would have been good but overall there was loads of choice. There was noisy building work from a nearby site when we were there but that’s not the hotel’s fault. Thoroughly enjoyed the holiday
Well what can I say, We arrived at this amazing hotel at the beginning of May 2026 for the 6th time ✨ Check in was perfect, the suites are immaculately clean and modern. All the staff are very polite and friendly nothing is too much trouble. Marie and Paula on the reception are brilliant and a credit to the hotel. The restaurant staff and cleaners are so friendly nothing is to much trouble. The food is nice and there’s always something different to try 🥑🍉🫒🦐 We love the amazing pool and inside spa area it is kept clean with lots of areas to sit of sunbathe 😎 🌞 the poolside bar is great serving food and drinks and the bar staff are brilliant and keep the areas very clean and tidy 🍷🍸🍹We are back again in October so if that’s not a recommendation I don’t know what is. Porto Colom is a lovely place especially around the harbour and Cala Marcel beach 🏝️ We are looking forward to returning to catch up with family and friends and chill out at your lovely hotel. Adios for now See you in October 🌞😎✨
An amazing place to stay. The rooms comfortable and quite spacious, plenty of wardrobe space, lovely little lounge area, every facility, except a kettle, i took my own travel kettle. The breakfast had plenty of choice with some food cooked fresh to order. The evening meal was the same, a lot of choice. The pool area is really lovely, plenty of sunbeds, and a nice little pool for children. It has a Spa pool, Sauna and Steam room, all free to use for guests and a Gym. A lovely bar area near the pool, that is open day and night, run by a lovely barman called Nanuel. Couldn't fault the place at all.
My wife and I stayed at the JS Suites in May this year having been to Portocolom 4 times in the last 2 years. Porto Colom is such a beautiful resort with enough bars and restaurants for our liking. This was our first time in this particular hotel. We stayed half board with a sea view. Firstly I would say that we found everything about the hotel to be excellent including the food, rooms, staff and location. There was building work on a private villa adjacent to the pool which is at the rear of the hotel and this was quite noisy whilst sunbathing in the day however you cannot hold the hotel responsible for that and I’m surprised it bothered families with what are generally noisy children that much. I get fed up with people moaning about things that are clearly out of the control of the hotel or holiday Companies and are just unfortunate. Get a life and live with it. You should not give a hotel a poor review score for things they cannot control. There are so many positives with this hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed it and had a fantastic sea view from the 6th floor. I would recommend it highly and I’m sure the building work will not go on too long as it was simply an excavator removing rock for a single villa not a housing estate!!
