JS PortoColom Suites

We absolutely loved JS Suites Portocolom. We went for my daughter's 40th birthday as a family and it was wonderful ! The suites are a great size, very clean, lovely comfortable beds and great shower! The staff are all really friendly and helpful. Food was amazing even for our picky grandsons 😀 There was a very nice atmosphere in the hotel and was quiet at nighttime for a good sleep. We absolutely LOVED Portocolom it's a jewel! Very quiet and serene just perfect. Thank you to lovely Paula and her team we will be back xx

We only stayed for 3 nights. Had a lovely time and wished we had longer.. it was quiet as well as appealing to children and families. Breakfast was delicious..rooms were clean and spacious! Entertainment was minimal but appropriate for the hotel. The surrounding area was calm and peaceful. Some lovely places to eat out..not busy at all. Less touristy and more of the locals. Loved it. Going back next year!!!

Ok so i will pass on facts and i think these are what i would of liked to have known before i booked .the food is generally good and good varity however i think the only food hot is soup . All meals seemed just warm. The swimming pool was clean and only issue was a few lots of steps were seeming loose and dangerous ? The staff were nice and friendly bar staff and reception. The location is isolated after going to local small bars and cafe type places outside the hotel . Theres not alot at PortoColom after a few days of walking around i travelled on busses to see more places. The worst bit and i have to say its really bad is that according to the reception staff jet2 booked us in the economy rooms on the first floor not the hotel staff . It is so noisey plagued by boom boom music from a bar outside . The hotel are aware of that its so bad and offer a better room on higher floors for €20 per night . Instead of sorting the real ussue out with the bars open till around 1 am then people sitting still there till 3 am . Shouting etc . The rooms higher are same lay out but quieter apparently. They call all the rooms suites but this is can only be described as little lounge and little bedroom . Would i go back absulutly not . Its not that PortoColom is not worth going to . Its lovely but a daytrip sort of place . There is a real problem with noise till upto about 3 am from outside . Ironic as the hotel night entertainment closed at 10 pm each night. It suddenly it goes quite in the hotel . The evening enterainment is so bad . One good night with tina turner tribute act . The indoor bar was not open at night or anytime to my knowledge strange . In my opinion as just a guest badly run hotel

We’ve just left after a week, the hotel is very clean, rooms are a decent size with a good size balcony. Food was always fresh and was constantly being topped up with different choice every night. Most of the staff are all really friendly however we did have a few issues with a couple, we had an incident on the 2nd night when we was told we hadn’t paid for half board and the lady dealing with it(think she was a manager as she was wearing different clothing to the rest) was certain she was right and kept on telling us we hadn’t paid making us out to be liers essentially. At the end she realised we had and it was a mistake, we didn’t even get an apology for the way we were treated! As we was leaving early we asked for the cold breakfast we was leaving at 8am came down around 7.40 and the lady (white/blonde hair and glasses) was extremely rude and said we told them 5.30 so it had been put away… shrugged her shoulders we explained why would we say 5.30 when we know our pick up is 8? She stormed over to the restaurant and said they have 5.30 too, clearly someone at the hotel had miss heard us but again it was made to be our fault. No apology no sorry just ‘go get something’ she walked off didn’t say sorry, goodbye anything! Extremely rude! The lift situation is also a nightmare, especially when you have a baby in a pram, 2 small lifts for a hotel this size is just silly. The walls in the rooms are paper thin, you can hear the room next door quite loudly, hopefully you get quiet neighbours! Finally the bar downstairs near reception was never open which we found strange, if we wanted a drink in the evening we had to go up to the pool bar. There’s an air hockey table in the games area which is open plan to all the hotel room doors, we go to bed quite early as we have a baby, all you can hear until 11ish is the sound of that table which is highly annoying, I think this either needs to go or be moved. Lastly this hotel doesn’t offer a kettle/drink making facilities in the rooms which I think is really poor, it’s just a standard thing hotels should offer. We needed one as we had the baby so had to make bottles. We had to hire one from reception for the week. Overall I would say it’s ok a lot of room for improvement, wouldn’t return.
