Great hotel, very quiet location. If you’re looking for comfortable rooms, friendly staff, tasty food and no rush for the loungers by the pool this is the place for you. Best suited for those with young families that go to bed after the evening entertainment or anyone that doesn’t want to go for an evening mooch around the shops in the evening (as there’s literally nothing). I added the half board option for dinner and I’m glad I did, lots of choice and variety every night. If you don’t choose this option you’ve got 4/5 options in the square outside the hotel or a 15 minute walk in either direction for a small cluster of restaurants with limited choice. There’s also a live cook station in the mornings doing omelettes, eggs and pancakes and multiple protein choices in the evening (chicken, pork, local fish). The hotel was spotless throughout and the cleaners don’t come too early. You can also leave a sign on the door to come later if you sleep in. There’s a small fridge in the room but no cooking hob/kitchenette/sink and if you want a cup of tea you can rent a kettle from reception or bring a travel sized one. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, our flight was delayed so we arrived after 10pm and they’d left us a platter of cold cuts to make sandwiches so we didn’t go to bed hungry - shoutout to Paula on reception who was very knowledgeable and helped with local bus information and all of our random questions too. Overall I would say hotel 10/10, Portocolom 5/10 because it’s so quiet. My own fault for not researching the area more before booking.

We have just spent 7 days here with two kids (11 and 15) and mother (who has mobility needs), and had an amazing stay. We needed somewhere that suited all 3 generations and needs, with disability access. We cannot fault the hotel; spotless, spacious, beautiful and remarkably quiet for this time of year. No sunbed wars (always plenty of beds available). Lovely atmosphere but never too 'much'. My teenage son loved the gym overlooking the pool. Pool area was spotless, tons of umbrellas, tables etc. The pool bar was fab, great food for lunches, snacks and the breakfast was always brilliantly varied, so many options on the buffet to suit all. The staff couldn't be more helpful, so friendly and accommodating - helping us book excursions, rent a wheelchair, and upgrade our room for more space. We moved from a smaller room to a two bed which was perfect for two adults and two older kids, and they managed to put our mother in room next door. Paula and Maria at reception were so helpful. Highly recommend and will return!

The stay had started quite well, everything was not perfect but the pool and the evening shows were generally rather friendly, but if we had to pay an extra €500 because of a seizure beug on booking, booking should also compensate us but we note the effort of the hotel which gave us a discount on the stay. On the 5th day we decide to eat on the terrace of the restaurant, we come across 2 rats (photos and videos in support) that eat the remains of the plates of customers who were hanging out not far We filed a complaint with the town hall which then transmitted to the hygiene services, we are waiting for the rest of the procedure I asked to speak to the hotel manager, in good faith and rather professional, but she has no decision-making power on commercial gestures Obviously the decisions are being made higher, probably shareholders too busy sunbathing on their yachts In summary, customers are taken for dairy cows and are only there to spit money, I was debited on the last day after my departure for the consumption of the stay (about €80) without my authorization when the director had told me that they would be offered as compensation In short, in front it seems rather correct but the presence of rats that eat in the abandoned plates of customers has clearly changed the overall experience, reinforced our doubts about the quality of hygiene in the kitchens, for safety reasons, and if you have children I recommend fleeing We stopped eating at the hotel as soon as we noticed the press of the rats, no compensation from the hotel was offered to us, we took care of all the additional costs
