Na Taconera Sport & Relax

Stayed at this hotel for a few days away for nothing more than a few pool days in the sun. The hotel appears to boast a large sports operation but didn’t not use any of it so can’t comment. From arrival at the hotel, during our stay, to checking out, the staff were faultless, all very friendly and helpful. We stayed in in a privilege room on half board (recommended as there is nothing in the immediate area food or drink options in the evening) the restaurant is a little dated and the food quality is pretty average at best but did the job, and was to be expected for a 4* European, Buffett style restaurant. The room we had was very clean, modern and comfortable. The walls are unfortunately very thin and the noise at night from the surrounding gardens (birds/ crickets/ and frogs/ toads will keep you awake) and I guess luck of the draw with who is staying next to you - we had a few evenings of loud talk/ laughter phone calls etc but that’s on the guests not the hotel. The pool area is nice, didn’t get too crowded in the day and was a lovely chilled out area to relax - until 3pm when the hotels sports lady came round trying to get people in involved in aqua aerobics with her boom box - our que to leave. Only issue during our stay was a small leak from the rooms air conditioning. A quick call to reception and within an hour a friendly matainence man had it all resolved. Overall we had a lovely stay for what was a basic cheap break for us to switch off and relax.

Ideal place for sport vacation. The hotel is very nice. I will try to come back many times. Just these things need improvement: drinking water to fill water bottles in the hotel section is missing. It is easy to solve: buy a water filter unit and install it next to the restaurant / reception area (no big plastic bottles needed with this, just filter replacement every year). Same filter units could be used for the sports zone. Second improvement topic is: the team in the sports club bar is overloaded, they have no system to attend people, so they have chaos always. Forgot my orders two times, confused my order one time, prepared other peoples dishes before mine, etc. They were always overloaded, so the mood was not always good as well. They just need a system to be more organized, for example when someone orders something, it could appear in a tablet, so that others know what needs to be prepared, and i in which order, and maybe they could have each a leading role: attending, charging, preparing. We stayed at the hotel with my fiancé between 15/08/2025 and 22/08/2025. Overall, this could have been a good experience, but unfortunately one night we woke up to the shocking situation of a cockroach crawling on my partner. We were given a new room that night, which we could eventually keep, but when we asked the reception the next morning about possible compensation, the staff member reacted almost indignantly, as if it were completely normal to wake up to such a thing. I understand that the climate is hot and humid, but when you pay more than €1,200 for a holiday and receive this kind of treatment, it feels disappointing. This left a very negative impression and completely overshadowed our stay.

We are forced to take off two star due to a major issue at this establishment — a serious downside, especially for a place that claims to be focused on sports. The issue lies with the coach in charge of the gym. His lack of manners and basic politeness is simply incomprehensible, and something I’ve never experienced before in a four-star hotel. Put simply, he never greets hotel guests, never smiles, and his attitude is completely unacceptable, clearly ruining the customer experience at the gym. What’s worse is that his behavior is entirely different with Spanish members — he rolls out the red carpet for them and reserves about 70% of the gym space for their use. To make matters worse, he works out himself during his shift, using the already limited machines. And the final straw: we saw him dining at the guest buffet at 8 p.m. — the ultimate insult. Who is he to receive such privileges despite his incompetence? Is he the son of a local politician who needed a job? All other services at the hotel are excellent: the housekeeping staff, the buffet manager, the reception team, and Mr. Paco… But this coach should have been fired long ago! He should make room for someone who actually wants to work and who understands what it means to work in a four-star hotel. We’ve stayed at this hotel four times already, spending over €10,000 in total, but honestly, due to the atmosphere in the gym, we’re no longer sure we’ll return…

This was my first solo trip and I really enjoyed it. I felt safe and secure at all times. The food was ok but would have like a cooked breakfast but overall it good. My room was lovely and the bathroom was very modern with a lovely shower. Hotel was nice and clean. The language barrier was difficult as nearly everyone spoke Spanish or German so English was tough, which felt a little isolating at times especially as I was travelling alone. 5 minutes later walk to the beach and a 20 min bus ride into Cala Ratjada for €3 each way. €9 in a taxi each way. I would come back xx
