Na Taconera Sport & Relax

We were genuinely impressed with our one-week stay at Hotel Na Taconera. I rarely write reviews, but in this case it would have felt wrong not to leave one. I also hope this helps anyone who is still unsure whether to choose this hotel. Our stay at Na Taconera was a real opportunity to relax, both physically and mentally. The hotel can roughly be divided into three areas. The main building contains the reception, restaurant, bar and access to the main swimming pool. The second part is located higher up the hillside, corresponding to floors 6–8. To reach it, you take the lift to the top floor of the main building and then walk through a corridor. This is where the Privilege rooms are located, together with a separate area with a jacuzzi and Balinese beds. From the 7th and 8th floors there are beautiful views of the sea. The third area is the sports club, which includes a saltwater pool, sauna, gym, tennis and volleyball courts, as well as another bar. We stayed as a family — two adults and baby — in a Privilege room on the 7th floor. The room was spacious and had a balcony with wonderful sea view. Housekeeping was done every day and was consistently excellent. We did not really use the dedicated Privilege jacuzzi area, but one major advantage for us was access to the Balinese beds by the pools. With a small child, this was extremely convenient. The Privilege package also includes access to the sauna, bathrobes and a coffee machine in the room. We would especially like to mention the hotel staff, and in particular the people working in the restaurant. Thank you for your kindness, professionalism and warm attitude towards guests. We felt very welcome throughout our stay. The people working at Na Taconera are clearly highly professional, but at the same time you can feel that they put genuine care into what they do. We booked half board with breakfast and dinner. The food was of very good quality, and there was enough variety that we never became tired of the selection during the week. A particularly nice feature is that soft drinks are included with dinner, so there is no need to budget separately for water and other non-alcoholic drinks, as is often the case in other hotels. We also had lunch several times at the bar in the sports area and were very satisfied with both the quality of the food and the prices. The hotel is very quiet and peaceful. There is no loud entertainment or a lot of noisy evening programme. The guests are mainly couples and families, and the general atmosphere is calm and pleasant. If you are looking for nightlife and parties, neither this hotel nor Sa Font de sa Cala is likely to be the right choice. But if your goal is to genuinely relax, it is an excellent place. The sea is only about a 5–8 minute walk away. The route is easy and mostly flat, with no difficult hills, even though the map may initially make it look otherwise. There is a bus stop directly next to the hotel, with buses to Cala Rajada. During the day there is also a small tourist train running between Sa Font de sa Cala and Cala Agulla. There is a small shop close to the hotel where you can buy pastries, drinks and basic toiletries. For a larger selection, Lidl and Mercadona are only a few bus stops away. The only real negative point we noticed was that some of the towels could already do with being replaced. We had seen similar comments in earlier reviews and can confirm this. However, this was a very minor issue and did not significantly affect our overall impression of the hotel. For us, Na Taconera was exactly the kind of place where you can switch off, rest and enjoy the sea, peace and a very pleasant atmosphere. We were extremely happy with our choice.

Fabulous hotel in a very quiet resort. Lovely pool, no towels on sunbeds here!! Excellent choice of buffet food for breakfast and dinner and they don’t skimp on the drink measures at the bar either. Superb sports area with another pool, excellent gym, padel and tennis for those brave enough to play in the heat. Would certainly recommend.

Hotel overall is nice, rooms small but clean but could use a kettle and room safe. Housekeeping very nice and clean. Room is dark, could use a proper overhead light. Initial impression was great, a fabulous receptionist checking us in. Pool area is lovely and relaxed, no racing down for sun loungers, be it probably later in the holiday season. Breakfast spread is good, more of a culture cuisine but nice. We got told off by a member of staff for sitting at a large table although all 2/4 seaters were taken as they section off a portion of the room. Hotel location is okay if you don't mind paying 14 euro roughly into Cala Ratjada for dinner if you haven't gone all inclusive. Biggest issue came with 3 days to go, we had no hot water. 3 nights in a row standing in the shower covered in suds and the hot water completely shuts off. I rang reception at the first occurrence and reception man was rude and unhelpful. On the third day we were fed up of this happening, I told our preferred man on reception and he did say it was happening hotel wide. However, we got no apology or compensation offered all though I would consider it a health and safety violation. Especially considering this is a four star establishment that we paid well for. Although we did have a nice stay, this certainly put a downer on our holiday.
