Stayed here for a week during the October school holidays as a family of six, after reading various reviews I was really nervous about this hotel but how wrong was I. We arrived during the night the staff in reception were helpful n organised a shuttle bus to our building. We had three rooms in laguna 2 they were all clean and cleaned every other day throughout our stay. Only the main restaurant and the sports bar were open during our stay which meant it was busy and every day we had to wait for a table to be cleared before we could sit. As a picky eater the food was fine none of us went hungry. The pools were good a little chilly but it was October even though we had amazing weather. The entertainment was fun we all had a laugh. The drinks were fine and definitely had alcohol in them, I would recommend getting a few at a time as the cues were quite big at times. We would definitely come back to this hotel but probably not in peak season

Stayed here all inclusive for a week having previously stayed here in 2011. Stayed in the Kalma block which has been very nicely refurbished, room was comfortable and now has air conditioning. The Kalma block seems quieter than the other blocks, the Kalma lounge does a variety of drinks and snacks, it is a nice place to relax after a day at the pool and is open til evening, also there was a bar by the pool. Rooms are cleaned 3 times a week with towel change. Kalma has its own reception and they will help you out with anything you need. There are different dining rooms depending on your wristband. I ate in the smaller restaurant to the side of the entertainment stage. Meals were good quality, much the same everyday a lot of grilled meat and fish but a large choice and very well presented. Always somewhere to sit and you could eat outside if you wanted. Staff were friendly and attentive this is true of all staff in the complex. The complex is quite laid out it was about a 10 minute walk to the dining room and main entertainment complex from Kalma. Drinks at the main entertainment venue are limited to 3 small glasses per person and there are long queues. The complex is at the top of the main Alcudia strip with lots of shops and restaurants. It’s about a 15 minute walk to the beach which is lovely. Having previously stayed 15 years earlier when the complex was tired and shabby, it has had a significant upgrade. There was quite a long check in queue potentially long walks with your cases afterwards to get to your room but there are minibuses that run round during the day for people with less mobility. There is a small tourist to pay on arrival of €15. All in all a nice holiday and I would go back.

This was a very impromptu holiday for us to mark our wedding anniversary during half term, and on arriving, we had concerns. Whilst checking in, a very loud man was making his displeasure known to everyone in very fruity language, though this was handled exceptionally well by the manager (more on this later). Our room on arriving was quite tired (Lagoon 1 block, 1 bed apartment), but very clean, and handy for the restaurants/pools. Each block has its own pool, so you're never any distance away, though due to the size of the site, the restaurants are quite a trek if you're averse to walking far (which we are definitely not). Each of the blocks seems to have its own character/target guest, so I'll explain these as best I can: Pools/Blocks Central - ideal if you like lively entertainment and loud music with more of an 18/30-type vibe. Reef - aimed at those with younger children/families. Smaller water slides here. Lagoon - slightly quieter. Kalma - the premium pool/block with access to designated restaurants/lounge. Better for those seeking quiet, older guests, or families with older children. Restaurants As noted in other reviews, the main restaurant does get very busy, and can feel very loud, though heading down to the Sports Bar area is quieter. Speciality restaurants didn't appear to be open during late October. Food is actually very varied and we were pleasantly surprised, with plenty of fresh fish/meat cooked in front of you. Nice to see some Mallorcan dishes too. We went for all-inclusive, and the drink selection was adequate and though served in paper cups in the pool areas, it was absolutely fine. Amstel on-tap which was fine, though the wine was a little rough (as you'd expect), and cocktails pre-mixed. We found the main restaurant and most pools to be too loud for my son, who suffers with misophonia and tinnitus, so we opted to seek an upgrade to the Kalma section to take advantage of the peaceful areas (more on this below). Site & location The complex is vast, though having a pool for each block means that it doesn't feel crowded, and there isn't a bun fight for sunbeds every day. The site is set around a massive lake, and this is quite picturesque. The complex as a whole (restaurants excluded), does have some areas that appear a bit careworn, however there are areas that have clearly been recently decorated, and I suspect there will be a refresh before the coming summer season. The site is only a short walk from the beach. If you are hiring a car, there is a huge amount of parking on site, so you won't struggle to find a space. Staff This is where this hotel really stands out. Ignore reviews about any of the staff being rude, as they were absolutely not, and I can honestly say the service was superb. Reviewers who have said otherwise, may be abrasive themselves - treat the staff with respect: they all work very hard, and I don't have a bad word to say about any of them. Special mentions to Pablo (the manager) and his team, who bent over backwards to accommodate our room change and very reasonably-priced upgrade, Antonia on the bar at the Kalma pool who was lovely, and the waiter whose name I didn't get in the Kalma restaurant, and the staff in the Kalma lounge too. Links to other areas The main strip that goes into Port d'Alcudia and Alcudia Old Town is a short walk away, and the bus number 324 will take you straight to both. Fares are really reasonable: we paid £28 for three return trips to Alcudia Old Town and El Mal Pas (route 323) on the other side of Alcudia for three people (a hidden gem if you fancy a quieter beach). Alcudia Old Town is gorgeous, and if you fancy true and very affordable Mallorcan tapas, check out Sa Portassa as it is superb - be prepared for a wait for food and I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Wine, service and setting exceptional here too. Verdict This complex has something for everyone, and I was wrong to judge too quickly. The majority of this complex is a budget-friendly resort aimed at young families. Our upgraded room (Reef block 1) was recently decorated and lovely. There's no doubt that having access to the Kalma facilities made this holiday for us, as did the service from Pablo and his team.

We booked this holiday as a fairly last minute option - having never been away in the October half term before. We were attracted to the pictures of the hotel, however...... the pictures do not represent this hotel at all. This hotel is actually in many different blocks - the pictures of the rooms seem to show only the refurbished blocks, not the one we were put in. From what we witnessed the refurbished blocks seem to be kept for Spaniards rather than foreigners - the foreigners are put in the other blocks, which are rundown to say the least. We were there for a 7 day duration and the cleaners did not clean our room once during that whole time - despite us leaving the card on the door. At one point - we left for breakfast and they were cleaning the room next door - after breakfast, I ran back up to collect something and they had moved to the other side of us - completely missing us out. We were having to search them out and ask for towels- and were often asked why we needed them? We were only ever given 2 - but there were three of us in the room? The food is awful and the dining area is chaotic - bear in mind it was not as busy as I imagine it would be in the summer holidays yet tables remained uncleaned, food unreplenished, cutlery un-replenished. We would often have to beg for cups or cutlery, then wait upwards of 20 mins for them to appear. We had received an email from Jet2 around 1 week prior to departure informing us of work being done on the road outside of the hotel but intrusion should be limited - it was not. Our balcony looked directly onto the road and they started jack-hammering at 7.45am and it went on well past 8pm. Also due to the road being closed off - a lot of the restaurants shops etc closed for the season earlier than they would have otherwise - so toward the end of the week it was beginning to look like a ghost town. The restaurants that remained open told us this was due to the roadworks and otherwise, there would be more open for longer. We also had key card issues persistently - we had to keep going to reception to get new cards as they would randomly give up working, which was inconvenient. Also, the WiFi is garbage - you would get on for a couple of mins max, then be kicked off again, or sometimes not get on at all. The hotel itself - or 'resort' is very much akin to Butlins - run down, in desperate need of money being spent on it and a lot of the clientele seemed to be the type to park themselves at the 'showground' of an evening and get drunk whilst their kids ran wild, unsupervised. We quickly realised this was not the environment we enjoy and thus spent much of our time using our rented car to explore the island. If did have a gym which my husband used at the rate of $5 per day and a mini golf, however, all of the animal decorations in the mini golf had been smashed - apparently people cannot have nice things, which was a shame. The corridors in the blocks stank to high heaven of cannabis and a lot of the people walking past also stank of it. All in all, we would not go back as this was not our cup of tea - tired, dated, in desperate need of upgrade and have never experienced a room not being cleaned for a week before. If you enjoy a run down Butlins experience and everything (and everyone) that comes with it - this resort may be your type of holiday but for us - we will not be returning.

We went as a family of 5 me my partner and kids aged 13 12 and 6, on the run up to the holiday I will admit i was nervous but honestly we had an amazing time. 2 bedroom apartment all inclusive the room was great and spacious the food was ok to start with but as the week went on we struggled at dinner time but then again we are all fussy eaters so not the hotels fault. Entertainment we seen one show and it was fab! The kids little fairground €20 for 5 tickets small arcade that we kept winning in the swimming pools are cold at this time of year but honestly that didn’t stop all the kids going in the pools was always busy! Plenty of little parks and other things and ofcourse it’s right on the strip and small walk to the beach but all in we had an amazing time would we return probably not as their isnt a lot to do in Alcudia
