Rural Sa Bassa Rotja

Just spent a week there. Beautiful setting and superb staff. Quality and choice of food was excellent and the cleanliness of the rooms was superb. It is a four star hotel and that is why I give it 4 points. It has recently changed hands and some features are no longer offered eg the minibar is not stocked, water is not freely available. I booked through TUI and the price was very reasonable for peak season. Location is very isolated so taxis or car hire essential if you wish to explore. Two areas of investment would be the digital experience and the sun loungers. The WiFi is dreadful in the accommodation but very good in the restaurant. Consistency would enhance the experience. Many of the sunloungers are damaged and the addition of maybe four more would alleviate any pressure. Otherwise it is a peaceful place although it is not an adult only hotel so be prepared for children and pool inflatables and water guns and periods of noise.

I had a pleasant stay at Sa Bassa Rotja. The hotel, restaurant, swimming pool and wellness + gym are all nice and clean. The location is perfectly remote and quiet (no mass tourism). That means you need a car to visit other nice places. The restaurant has a new menu every day with three starters, three main courses and a dessert. I would definitely recommend to have dinner in the restaurant. Silvio and Raul two of the waiters are absolutely creating a welcoming vibe and nice atmosphere. They really made me laugh during my stay and dinners. If there is something I had to name that could be improved it would be the amount of sunbeds at the pool, since some people claim these in the morning, so everyone has place a to pool. Overall I would definitely come back if I visit Mallorca again :)

The highlight of our stay at Sa Bassa Rotja was definitely the restaurant. The food and atmosphere were excellent, and Raúl made the experience especially memorable. He kept us well attended throughout our meals and was warm, engaging, and very entertaining. The facilities were fairly simple but very clean and well maintained. I highly recommend booking a room overlooking the pool, ideally with a private terrace, as it makes the stay feel much more relaxing and special. There were two areas that could be improved. The air conditioning was inadequate for such a large suite, so the room never felt as cool or comfortable as we would have liked. We also would have appreciated the use of a golf cart during check-in and check-out to help transport our suitcases, as some of the terrain is uneven. Overall, we had a very pleasant experience and would happily recommend Sa Bassa Rotja.

We carefully chose this hotel to suit our needs at the time. It was almost perfect. Wonderful hotel with excellent location, very friendly efficient staff and typical traditional Spanish style. The grounds immediately around the hotel were beautifully kept with mature trees and flowers. Further afield was natural habitat with carpets of wild flowers with an interesting marked walk. What let it down from getting a 5 star from us was .... the hot breakfast was consistently cool ! and the shower in the bathroom was antiquated and set at a very high level so no adjustment. Food was good and nicely presented apart from a couple of dinners that did not hit the mark. WOULD WE GO AGAIN ? YES WE WOULD it is a unique wonderful place to stay.

A really lovely quaint hotel, allowing for a very relaxing and peaceful stay. The hotel area including Reception, the restaurant and pool area was beautiful, well maintained and clean. At night there’s fairy lights around the restaurant and some of the rooms, which is a lovely touch. Unfortunately the farm land around seems to have been neglected recently. It’s advertised and also on the map we were given, that there are horses, goats, vineyard, olive trees etc however these are no longer here & instead the area has become barren. This was a little disappointing. The pool was a great temperature and had plenty of comfy sunbeds. Pool towels are provided and staff come round offering drink refreshments. Food is absolute delicious, all made with fresh ingredients. A good quality breakfast buffet, varied snack menu with plenty to choose from and a 3 course dinner menu which changed each night. I was a little nervous about the set menu, but didn’t need to be! There were different main / starter options and always something nice to eat. Great sized portions and really reasonably priced. We had a basic comfort room, it was clean and very quiet! Although, there was no mini bar, robe or slippers which were advertised. We arrived late and dinner was put in our room, which we really appreciated, they also made us a breakfast pack up for our early departure. One thing to note, Reception staff are not here 24/7 and if you arrive late (around 10pm ish) they will not be there to check you in, instead leave your keys and a map. We felt this was rather poor. They also don’t start until 8am, which seems quite late. Staff are very friendly and accommodating and are a real asset to the hotel. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, so if you are wanting to go out and explore you are best hiring a car, although taxis were great for us. It’s about 30 mins from Palma and also the airport. We grabbed a taxi straight from the airport, which was so easy! Taxis were around EUR60 to both Palma and airport. This is a really great place to go and totally unwind. A peaceful escape!
